Table 3D of LabVIEW to MatLab

Hi all

I started a collaboration with another Department who would use my data table 3D (collected and created in LabVIEW) within their code for MatLab. I searched the forum, but so far, nobody seems to have a clue about how to get the data in table form of matrix 3D in MatLab? Didn't need to be alive.

So is it possible to record 3D data so that it goes can be loaded with MatLab not no change in structure?

EDIT:

* It is digital data

* DUAL-format

* The table is a 27000 x 9 with 2500 layers (dimensions, I think that they refer to MatLab?)

If you try to write files dull?

If so you must use the use Toolbox and the dull plugin: MATLAB® use

However, I see you point that it supports up to 2D arrays.

Can you have MATLAB on your computer and the server?  If so, you can use the MATLAB script node as I mentioned before, and save the file dull here.

  • Communication between PCI6251, Labview and Matlab

    Hello

    I work with a Council of PCI6251, driven by an executable labview.

    I get measurements from several sensors (pressure, temperature, etc.) which are read by the executable of labview.

    I would like to know if it is possible to send these Matlab measurements at the same time.

    I mean: is the PCI6251 card can send data to Labview and Matlab at the same time of acquisition?

    Or I need to install a second PCI card for that?

    (Labview and Matlab are installed on the same PC now)

    Hi Nico974,

    If you want to transfer data from LabVIEW in MATLAB, you have to use ActiveX connection between 2 software or to add the node to MATLAB in you program LabVIEW (see http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2F8ED0F588E06BE1862565A90066E9BA?OpenDocument)

    Another solution is to use the of MathWorks Data Acquisition Toolbox, because the card PCI-6251 is supported by this Toolbox (http://www.mathworks.fr/products/daq/supportedio14005.html)

    But here you have a LV executable so if you can't change it you will not be able to use your exe and a Matlab Script at the same time, if you need another PCI card.

  • The interface of LabVIEW and matlab

    Hello, I want to interface LabVIEW with MATLAB using the TCP/IP protocol for data transfer. Can anyone, please give me an instruction step by step how to do this? If not, can point out you where I can get them? Thank you.

    Hi Gilles,.

    TCP/IP is a generic protocol then you should easily be able to build enough interfaces TCP/IP for your LabVIEW and Matlab code and data transfer on ASCII or variants, etc., depending on what kind of data you are trying to transfer. I'm not too familiar with Matlab, but on the end of LabVIEW, there are a few examples of server and client very good TCP/IP provided with LabVIEW.

    Another option you may want to, and the reason why I answer it is that I did recently a project through which we took some legacy code MATLAB which we wanted to transpose into LabVIEW, so that we can automate then completely a test system that we use TestStand. A big part of it, we have been able to derive equivalent LabVIEW, but some functions where LabVIEW does not have an equivalent appropriate, or where it was simply more effective, simply copy us and paste Matlab code in any event in the first instance MathScript nodes (not dependant on Matlab) or Matlab script nodes (which will return if all goes well at a later date to transpose in full) LabVIEW for that is no longer dependent on a Matlab license).

    In both cases, the facility to do this was very impressive, and we were able to wrap huge amounts of code Matlab LabVIEW with very few problems. As an idea, have you considered your functionality of Matlab of packaging in this way and keeping all the customer TCP/IP and comms server in LabVIEW?

    Note: If you have not found it pick up the palette "Matlab Script.

    Good luck

  • Table 7.1 LabVIEW and LabVIEW 12

    Hi all

    I don't know why this is happening. I have a program here where I have controls for the enumerator who has 0,1,2 and which leads to a Boolean condition (0 - F, F, 1-F, T, T-2, T that appears in table 3. However, table 3 is the inverse of what we indicate at the outset.

    The program has 3 main buttons: NEXT, FINISH, and STOP.

    The program does not stop until you press STOP.

    Whenever you press the OTHER, going to all the controls of the enumerator value in the table and it keeps adding until I click on FINISH. The number of times is THEN pressed into guarded is saved

    The FINSIH leads to two operations:

    (1) there is a loop FOR who runs the number of times you press the OTHER.

    (2) inside of the loop, it modifies each row of the table of 48 items in a 2D of 4 X 12 table, where the position of the element is reversed. The original numbering of the table from left to right, where each item is sequenctially added with rest more element of port 0 as the 0th value of table and continues.  , but in the table shown in the annex, it passes to the numbering from right to left with the right most element affecting the element 0 1 Port.

    (3) it is powered by an array of Boolean leading to an array of Boolean T/F.

    Later I want to feed this T / F my acquisition of data values.

    Here, I'm a bit confused because this program works perfectly well inLabVIEW 12 but it does not iterate table properly in LabVIEW 7.1. In LabVIEW 12, I am able to get results than expected and there is a perfect match between 'annexed table' and the 'array3. However, in LabVIEW 7.1, there is a mismatch between the "annexed table" and "table 3". From what I can see, the 3 table 7.1 uses data n of the previous run for iteration 0 array. And then uses the data for iteration in table 1, 0E current tracks.  and then for iteration in table 2, it uses 1 data of the current tracks... and so it goes up to n - 1, then it stops.

    Please suggest what would be the best way to solve this problem, and I do not see that in LabVIEW 12.

    Thank you

    G

    As has been said, your program fits with the race conditions and general misconceptions about data flow programming.

    You are all far too complicated! I can assure you that this could be done properly with less than 10% of your current code. For example, your rings 48 photo could be placed in a container of cluster instead of a decoration. Now, all you need is a single terminal followed 'cluster to table' instead of this gigantic Spider Web of the code in the event "next". Why is "number of orange occurrences? This must be an integer. Why don't you use one of value instead of directly wiring? Why the number of iterations depends on [i] from the outside while loop? No it has no logical sense. You have access to the main draw of the regisiter to SHIFT, so do not even an indicator is hidden. Why involve the front panel for stuff that only the code must? Waste duplicate code all this blue in the event 'Finish' could grouped in a single small loop.

    See how far you get. The final code should probably fit on half of a postcard once you do this. You don't need the properties of value!

    Once you reduce the code to 10%, you can make a 10 x more complicated program with less effort than what you have here!

  • Difference between FFT LabVIEW and Matlab FFT

    Anyone know why there is a lag in the absolute levels of the results of the function in LabVIEW and Matlab FFT?

    See the VI attached for an example of my code to LV.

    Also attached is the plot generated in Matlab, which seems to be compensated by ~ 37dB.

    This was generated by using the command "plot (10 * log10 (abs (fft (x))))", where x is the same as in the VI input array.

    Thank you very much

    Dan

    I see you are using the VI of spectrum FFT which returns a unique range of face.  To convert a transformation both sides (IE FFT) in one spectrum sided with RMS units there is a standardization of sqrt (2) / n, where N is the number of points in x (t).  You can prémultiplier your x (t) by N/sqrt (2) and get the same results as Matlab.  Or, you can use the FFT.vi so you compare transform to transform instead of spectrum to transform.

  • TestStand directly accesses table generated in LabView? How to do?

    Hi all!

    I am a new hand to TestStand, so I have several problems.

    I generated a digital picture in LabView and dynamically display in the chart. When I want to use TestStand to generate the report, can I go directly to the table? Otherwise, how? My ultimate goal is to display the chart as a chart in the report.

    Thanks a lot for your help.

    You have several options here.  Pass the transom to TestStand and save it as an additional result. Or you can just put a picture of the LabVIEW Control in the report.

    Option 1: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-38945

    If you use Option 1 it is important to understand this: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7AE2EB304D4F9D4F86256B8100795B83

    Option 2: http://www.ni.com/example/30736/en/

    It also depends on what version of TestStand you use as well as the type of report you want to generate.

  • 2012 of LabVIEW and MATLAB use

    Hello.

    I am using the Matlab data plugin (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4178) with LabVIEW 2012. I installed the plugin and the installer says that the installation was successful. However, the plugin does not appear in the list of plugins in LabVIEW. I rebooted the system, but that did not help.

    Data plugins are incompatible with LabVIEW 2012? I also tried to add the plugin using the vi of the data plugin manage the palette. Although the vi does not return an error, the plugin still isn't available. Decommissioning of 2010 is not an option for me, because I need some of the new features.

    Thanks for your help.

  • error when pass array 1 d by data in table pointer via Labview-built c++ dll

    I'm trying to generate a Labview VI to a DLL and let it be invoked by vc ++, by which a 1 d array is passed. However, I can't generate the DLL when you use the data pointer to the table, which gives the error like below:

    [ERROR]

    Error when compiling the DLL as a function name or a parameter is illegal. Check function and parameter names are legal C identifiers and are not inconsistent with the LabVIEW headers.

    Note: The error indicates that the odl file has unknown types. This error is possible when

    release the configuration that have not been recompiled during the build process.

    The Prototype of VI define is as below

    But, if I use the pointer to manage through the table, the generation is successful, error-free. I write something to call the DLL built labview, which basically reads 1000 double the data of an instrument.

    #include "TestDQMaxDLL.h"
    #include

    using namespace std;

    int main(int argc, char** argv) {
        cout << "Start testing DQMax DLL" << endl;

        int leng{ 1000 };
        DoubleArray rawDPData = AllocateDoubleArray(leng);
        test_dqmax_dll(&rawDPData);
        cout << "Successfully invoked the DLL!" << endl;
        cout << "DoubleArray.len: " << (*rawDPData)->dimSize << endl;
        for (int i = 0; i < leng; i++)
        {
            cout << (*(rawDPData + i))->elt[0] << "\t";
            if (0 == i % 10)
            cout << endl;
        }

        system("pause");

        DeAllocateDoubleArray(&rawDPData);
    }

    But the printed results are not correct.

    My questions are:

    1. why cannot generate DLLS with the data of table pointer. In this case, the argument of the function is as simple as a double array.

    2. for table handle pointer, when the resutls are incorrect and how to get the good ones.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    BTW: I use Labview 2012 with Visual c ++ 2013 on Windows7 64 bit.

    I never needed to pass a table of LabVIEW handle external code. Search this forum for posts of RolfK, it is most likely to have posted such an example. I recommend that you keep things simple and remodelling your table a table 1 d 2D before moving on to external code and manage as a 1 d table (it's just a little extra math).

    Sorry I don't have a solution on why you can't build with a 1 d as a pointer of table table. If you post your project I'm happy to try to build (I'm on LabVIEW 2012, however), but as you said, it will rely on another machine, it seems more likely to be a problem with something on the specific computer where there is a problem.

  • Table of waveform LabVIEW 2009

    I have a problem with the table of waveform in LabVIEW 2009, the chart will not poster on the table after a few iterations. This is a bug that appeared in LabVIEW 2009. The same program worked well with LV 8.6. Does anyone know a work around for this problem? I am currently using Version 9.0f2

    See the attached diagram

    It's strange...

    I checked that save this return to 8.6 does indeed.

    If you replace the function Merge signals with a bundle of things function seem to work fine.

    There is also something weird happens with the property node. If you start with a pnode for active track, then drag it down to add another element, then change this new element to draw colors, you get an error on the property node.

    "Interesting."

  • 2012 LabVIEW and Matlab script server error

    I just installed LV 2012 and upgrade the code that runs Matlab scripts. Now when I run it, it gives me an error of server script (1047). I'm using Matlab 2007. Someone at - it the same problem? Anyone know of a solution?

    I guess it has to do with the server script does not properly. But I can't exactly run the same code in LV 2011 without problem while LV 2012 gives me an error. Same computer, etc.

    Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

    Thank you "transfererror", this helped me identify workaround.

    For those who struggle with this, that's what I learned:

    1. This affects only the variables that are passed in a sub - VI in the connector pane (that is, local variables are not connected to the connector pane apparently do not have this problem).

    2. it seems to only affect as vectors 1 d or 2D paintings. The reason why the screws inserted by Sev_K example applies to this problem is that the types of data that are not arrays do not have this problem.

    3. Thus, to solve my problem, I inserted just an addition of 0 to all vectors and matrices that have been passed in the Sub - VI. I guess what it doesn't copy the variable in a local buffer and it is perhaps the reason why he fix it?

    In any case, workaround seems to work. I don't know what it costs in terms of speed or memory, but I do not have much about it for my application (some real-time applications that use Matlab scripts eventually consider it).

    Perhaps this information can help identify and fix this bug.

  • How to record multi dimensional table worksheet in labview

    In a room attached I m trying to save two different string table 2d in the same spreadsheet under column1 and column2 file, I thought to use the concept of indexing, but it does not work with 2d arrays. so please could fix my program

    Your biggest mistake is wiring a fake to add it in an input file. This would be oviously remove all the old data. Using two writing worksheet functions is stupid and instead of linking the data in the table, just take numeric values, you get and pass to the function of writing in the form of a table 1 d.

  • File reading in Matlab, LabVIEW 2012

    Hello

    I am very new to LabVIEW and this could be a very simple question.

    I'm reading a simple labview .vi file in Matlab. I use the version of LabVIEW 2012 32 bit. I saved a file .vi and tried to load it into Matlab as mentioned inof LabVIEW in the MATLAB® environmentsection of http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/2f8ed0f588e06be1862565a90066e9ba?Open Document. But I can't load the data. Maybe I am doing it the wrong way.

    In  Section Of LabVIEW in the MATLAB® environment , I do not understand what is meant by ""write into the file of worksheet VI on the programming "' e/s filespalette. '"

    Can someone explain to me how to do this? I'm just trying to read any exmple saved in LabVIEW in Matlab. If anyone can give another example, which would also help a lot.

    Thanking you.

    INDI

    INDI,

    I think that your problem may be to understand the terminology.  .Vi files are LabVIEW programs, not data. Those who cannot be "read" by MATLAB.

    Writing in the worksheet File.vi is a VI that comes with LV on the palette file. It can be used in your program to write data to a file text delimited by tabs. These files can be read by MATLAB.

    What it the way which operate you: generate the data you want to save in your LabVIEW VI in the form of a table of numbers. Wire of this array of numbers to Scripture in the File.vi worksheet at the time where you want to save the data. If you do not connect a path at the entrance to the path of the file, a dialog box appears asking where to save the data.
