• Table alignment problem

  I have a table of format of CLIENT access licenses that I can't get alignment to work properly.  I have the attributes of the table defined and managed in the R/W rules file (shown below).  I have the code in the EDD to watch the TGROUP label align attribute and apply an initial table format suitable for the attribute (also shown below).  There are 3 conditions of test for the left/Center and right attribute values, then another on the off chance that the attribute is not specified.  The system always selects the condition ELSE regardless of the value of the align attribute.  I tried different case on the value of the attribute, and I tried different quotes on in ESD around the value of the attribute.  Nothing works.  It seems that it should be simple.  No idea what I am doing wrong?

  To fix, you make the text bigger or smaller box and then resize it to what it is supposed to be. Also when I do a first page datamerge moves like that too, even if the rest is correct. When you export to PDF it comes out wrong as well. If anyone wants an example file that I can post it here.

  Well, I think I see here the rub - if you left me speechless for a while there!

  So, I see that you have the text box that contains your table to help you align your table in the center of your page. (i.e. the box containing the text is organized around the outside of the page and the table is centered lef/right using point centering and up/down by using the command "Center" in the control bar. There is nothing particularly wrong with this method, I think it may be the source of your problems with alignment change unexpectedly.

  Looking at your file, I found that the removal of "Center" and change to the opposite to "align top" took the nervous behavior of the text box. It is more shifted when I tried to type. He however move the entire table to the top of the screen. For now we'll leave it there. Align the Page: Centre from left to right, Center t to b.

  Your final result should be an element that is always perfectly centered on the page, but which can be of type in without any unpredictable jump around!

• write data 2D table spreadsheet with good alignment

  With 'write in the spreadsheet file' function to write the 2D table, I still have the problem that headers may not align well wiith data. See attached snapshot please (there are 7 column headers).

  The default field delimiter is a tab. The data in the second and third columns values seem to have more characters than the default spacing of a tab. This translates into the tabs between these columns that occur more to the right than in the header. I think that if you read the file as text and display with ' \' Codes display mode on an indicator of the chain, you will find the same number of tabs (delimiters) in the header line like the rows of data.  The data have 12 or 13 characters such as formatting (or less where the zeros on the right are deleted).

  Format the data as of the fixed field widths. This is impossible with writing to the File.vi worksheet. You do not have to use the string to perform conversions and put in shape and then use the writing of text File.vi.

  Or change the spacing of tab in the program that you use to display the results.  If the tabs were approximately 15-18 spaces, reveal you do not see the problem.

  I use the WebHelp on RoboHelp 7 (XP blue skin). The table of contents does not appear on FireFox 3. RoboHelp 7 WebHelp models don't support FF 3? (Look good on 2.0 FF and IE).

• Weird alignment problem

  I think it might have something to do with my work on a small document - 48 * 48 icon - but maybe not.

  I have some strange alignment problems. I have an arrow head, I try to line up on a tree, and no matter what I do, they refuse to align the death. The alignment buttons don't work, dragging manually won't work - it falls right on 1px on each side where I want.
