TabTip32 Windows 7 64 bit grabs focus

I have two laptop Fujitsu Lifebook running 64-bit Windows, and both have recently developed a strange problem with TabTip32. Once connected, the system almost immediately becomes unusable because the foreground application loses focus. You can open an application or a command window, but it becomes impossible to type because the emphasis is more less than a second.

I have followed the problem until tabtip32.exe, located in c:\program files (x 86) \Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\tabtip32. Tabtip32 is called every few milliseconds. When tabtip32 is called, the task of leading loses focus. You can see called every few milliseconds by opening the Task Manager.

It is a bit about this "microsoft shared" and 'ink' both appear to be entirely lowercase names. This is incompatible with Microsoft's policy to take advantage of the first letter of the names of folders. Each directory in common files other than "microsoft shared" has the first letter uppercase. Similarly, each directory in "shared microsoft" has a first letter capitalized with the exception of the "ink". Weird...

The problem is easy to fix: 1) appropriating tabtip32.exe (the default owner is the TrustedInstaller and 2) changing the name to something. The moment where only the name is changed, the problem goes away (other than the event log, which reflects errors because Windows cannot find TabTip32). Unfortunately, the Windows Update reinstalls sometimes tabtip32.exe. When this happens, both of my computers unusable until I repeat the process described above.

The behavior is compatible with the malware. However, I do have Sophos and Malwarebytes installed on each computer in the active process. I also installed Adaware as a digitization program backup. I run Adaware every week or two. Both computers comes in own name with all these programs. It seems unlikely that tabtip32.exe has been replaced by a malware survived three respected virus detection programs. Also, malware is supposed to work invisibly. Malware that makes your computer unusable does not spread easily.

I am quite puzzled that this problem has not been communicated. I have two computers Fujitsu almost identical (T731 and T734), both running Windows 7 64-bit and both with exactly the same problem. On this basis, I expect this would be widely. It is not.

This could be caused by registry problems on both machines. I used the Lavasoft cleaner registry (a seller I trust), but which had no influence on the bizarre behavior of tabtip32.

I'd like suggestions on what is the cause, and how it can be addressed permanently.

Thank you

Steve Shafer

Hi Steve

More information that could help track down the problem.

In Windows 7, the file Tabtip32.exe is the component of the Tablet Input Panel and Touch Keyboard .

This component can be disabled.

Open Control Panel / programs and features.

In the left menu, click the option Windows turn features on or off .

After that fills the window, scroll down to the Tablet PC components and remove the check mark from that option.

Click OK and the feature will be removed the next time you restart the computer.

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

  • Networking a laptop 64 bit Windows 7 with a desktop computer Windows Vista 64-bit

I have a Dell desktop running 64-bit Windows Vista with a USB connected HP Photosmart printer operating system.  My wife used to have a laptop with an XP operating system and we have had no problem sharing the printer.  Now she has a laptop (HP) laptop to Windows 7 64 bit and fails to print.

His laptop is connected wireless to Verizon FIOS router (wireless-g, I think).  I am connected by ethernet.

If I look at a map of the comprehensive network of my Vista PC I can see his laptop and explore appropriate records of (public) level on his hard drive.   Sharing my Vista PC and are discovery options: network discovery:; File sharing:. Public folder sharing:; Printer sharing:; Password protected sharing: Off; The media sharing: Off.  My Vista shows the home network as a WORKING group.

I use McAfee SecurityCenter and when I open the McAfee network map it also shows my wife's cell phone with its IP address.

On my wife's cell phone two PCs appear on the map of the comprehensive network of the window and it shows my PC IPv4, IPv6 and MAC address, but if I try to 'Open' from my PC to the icon on the map, I get an error message suggesting I be spelled the name wrong or there is a network problem (error code 0 x 80070035 the network path was not found).  I ran the diagnostic of the error dialog box and he suggested to "make sure that the device allows incoming connections for printing and file sharing", the windows firewall settings.  Its network card qualifies to the network TPEN1, identity, assigned to the Verizon router. It shows his laptop connected by a dotted line (wireless)? to TPEN1 which is connected to a switch.  My PC is also connected to the switch which in turn is connected by a bridge to the Internet.  Options advanced sharing his PC for the home or work (current profile) are set on: turn on the discovery network. Enable file sharing and printing; Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in public folders;  Media streaming is disabled; Use 128-bit encryption to protect file sharing connections (recommended); Disable password protected sharing;  Use the user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers.

Its Norton Internet Security Network security map shows my PC as being in line with trust to full trust level.  It also shows the Swith and 2 generic devices with Shared Trust.

    So... anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.

This message looks like a long history because I don't know what is the level of knowledge of the user, and what has already been done.

The info goes through the motions of the configuration and verify most of the common aspects of the functionality of Windows OS' LAN.

    ----------------------

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

Since you have a network with Win 7 and the other version of Windows, you must configure Windows 7 as work network.

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

Vista file and printer sharing - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

If necessary check specifically Permission/security settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

Please note that the users and groups listed on the screen shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    ---------------------

You should consider that many times the final solution could involve total uninstall of the 3rd party security Suits.

In this case, you can be set at the same level with installing Microsoft Security Essentials which are used in the applications of a native Vista/Win 7 firewall and AntiVirus/AntiSpyware.

According to the description, you are facing problem during the upgrade to Windows 10.

In this case, you can improve your current PC to Windows 10 by going to the Windows 10 software download page to download the media creation tool. The media authoring tool can be used to create a USB or DVD media to upgrade your current PC to Windows 10 or install Windows 10 on another PC.

Follow the instructions on the download page of Windows 10 software: http://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

    Note:

When upgrading to Windows 10 using media, you must run setup.exe from in your version of Windows 7 or Windows 8 and authentic. If you want to boot from media, you must have upgraded to Windows 10 previously. • DirectX 12 for windows 7 64 bit

I just want to ask directx is available for windows 7 64 bit?

If this isn't the case, then it will be never come to windows 7?

No, DX12 is available on Win10, and only recent model graphics cards can

    use DX12 game effects.

Although DX12 have other benefits. A principal is that it uses the processor more efficiently when

graphics than previous versions of DirectX.

-DX12 still in it's infancy however. There is no fully released DX12 games still.

I think it will be a couple of years before DX12 truly becomes an important factor in the games.

-MS is far from focused on patients to give up Win7/8/8.1 to never allow DX12 on these operating systems.

Get as many people as possible on Win10 would be the main reason to make 'free' for Win7/8/8.1

users within the first year of its release.

-There are material limitations with Win10 (as it was with earlier versions of Windows), but many people

are to be seduced, by offering 'free' to try Win10 on computers, laptops, in particular,.

are not really optimal for Win10.  Especially with regard to the graphics hardware.

  • conflicts of Outlook and firefox on Windows XP 32-bit

    Problem reports and fix:
Latest Firefox on Windows XP 32-bit.

Earlier, Microsoft Office updates have been applied in the past months.

There were a lot of problems where Outlook and Firefox seem to share the same video address space, parts of Windows Outlook appeared in the windows of Firefox and vice verse. It's a pain. I needed to have one or another stop for each other at work and then things got worse than that, Firefox crashing very often. So I did a system restore to the 01/01/2015, which has removed the MS Office updates. Then Firefox and then didn't start because he didn't like the system restore. Reinstalled Firefox on top of Firefox [uninstall] and it starts now.

Now, Firefox and Outlook work well. Will not apply to MS Office updates as MS is not stable or worrying questions about Windows XP.

The problem has been fixed. You are implying that restored system restored a video driver update and that was not the case. Yes, the video display problem in question, but it doesn't seem to be a video driver issue.

I posted with the solution so that it would be here if someone had a similar problem. I don't know why you trying to tell me how to fix something I said has been set.

We integrated into our Google search site. It has been brought to my attention by one of our employees that Firefox does not show the search results after a click on the search button. The question seems to be limited only to Firefox. Tested the problem on Internet Explore 10 and Google Chrome and both work as expected, showing the results on our results page.

I use Windows 8, 64-bit, Firefox 30. The user whose question is on Windows 7, 64 bit.

I used the Web console and there was an error message
    "TypeError: google.search.Search.apiary5337 is not a function". "

I'm not sure that it is the root of the problem or not, but why would that work in Chrome and Internet Explorer and not Firefox?

If you need to check it out, the website is http://www.dmns.org/ . The search box at the top right of the page. You will see that the page redirects to our ' / results? q = searchterm "." We are a scientific institution so if you type 'science' in the search box, you will be redirected to the page ' / results "with the query string of 'science' for the search term. But in my case, the search results below are white. If you search even if Chrome or IE results show very well.
