tardisk

I have a Macbook Air Mid 2011 with OS X 10.7.5 and due to the lack of space just to order a tardisk of 128 GB, but it seems that I need to upgrade the operating system.

This HW supports the new operating system? Which? Anyone using tardisk?

It is a storage device, and I don't see any constraints regarding an OSX.  What makes you to believe otherwise?

If you think it's necessary, you can install El Capitan in your MBA, but I did not think it will.

Ciao.

  • Automated kickstart install fails with no file or directory; ' / tardisks/net_qlcn.v00 '

I try to install ESXi 5.5u2 via kickstart on an ISO. I added the CF and Eth drivers for the card to ISO using imagebuilder, and moves very well. If I then try to change the ISO with the kickstart file, updated the boot.cfg and isolinux.cfg, the installation will fail with the above error.

    Work:

ESXi vanilla ISO, mount iso, install copy files to the directory add ks.tgz, boot.cfg, isolinux.cfg to the directory, create iso using genisoimage. Kickstart unattended installation.

    Work:

ImageBuilder ISO with drivers 8242, interactive installation

    Does not:

ImageBuilder iso, copy the Directory installation files, add ks.tgz, boot.cfg, isolinux.cfg to the directory, create iso using genisoimage. Kickstart unattended installation.

Once the installation fails I can go down the directory tree and confirm that there are no net_qlcn.v00 in /tardisks.

Andreas Peetz seems to have this problem with its gui customizer, but I think not that the fix posted by glroman apply here. =(

At this point, it seems that the installer is not extracting the net_qlcn.v00 for some reason any

Found the problem: my generation process used the same boot.cfg for each generation, rather than pull the boot.cfg out of the norm iso source and changes before the reconstruction of the iso.

  • MacBook air crashes after the release of sleep since the upgrade of the sierra

Began to notice that since I upgraded my macbook air 2015 to sierra, system crashes. The trigger is always when I wake the sleep system (whether it is by opening cover or press a key). Issue is intermittent and may not be reproduced every time. I contacted apple support and they recommended resetting the SMC (ctrl + shift + cmd) but that didn't help either. I also did a check of filesystem (fsck-fy) and which seems to be very well so.

I noticed others seem to be faced with similar problems and a common theme that I noticed was that both we seem to have an installed tardisk. Not sure if this could be a factor?

While it is not any loss of data, the question is certainly annoying and disruptive to work.

The same question was observed at about 7 times since the update of the sierra. Containing the report of Etrecheck to the breast

  • New server ESXi 5.5 - How do I know what my score /scratch physical device is on?

    I went to this page - http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1014953

But unfortunately, it is not described how to match the UUID to a physical device.

For example, our server has two cards SD with ESXi embedded installed and a RAID 1 of the 2 SATA drives.

My boss asked me to make sure that the /scratch location is set to the spinning disks, rather than SD cards.

I can see what VMFS/volume/my /scratch up to, but I have no idea if this volume is on the SD card or the RAID 1 spinning disk.

I can't find a command that lists each UUID on each physical disk.

It does not help that I'm not much more than a linux guru. =/

    Hi PeterBollwerk,

Steps below should show you the location of the scratch on your esxi host. in this example, my esxi is executed in a double SD card in mirror.

  • Update NVIDIA VIBS fails with the error "device or resource busy".

Hi, we have encountered an error where we are unable to obtain the density, we should be able to on our cards Nvidia K1. Specifically, with allocation of 512 MB RAM video for desktop computers, we approach, to no, 64 VM by GPU, we should be able to. I have a box to open with VMware and they suggested that I should update my drivers Nvidia on ESXi host. 304, 76 - running 1OEM.510.0.0.802205 and I found the version 319.65 - 1OEM.510.0.0.802205 on the Nvidia site. If I try to run software esxcli vib install v - NVIDIA - VMware_ESXi_5.1_Host_Driver_319.65 - 1OEM.510.0.0.802205.vib then I get the error:

    [InstallationError]

    Error running /tardisks/NVIDIA_V.v00 rm:

    Return code: 1

Output: rm: cannot remove ' / tardisks/NVIDIA_V.v00 ': device or resource busy

    If I try to run:

esxcli software vib remove - vibname = NVIDIA - VMware_ESXi_5.1_Host_Driver

Then, I get the same error.

All the VMS are arrested and my host is in maintenance mode. How to uninstall we 304.76 pilot so I can install driver 319.65? Is there a service that I have to stop first or something?

    Here is the complete procedure:

To update the VIB of NVIDIA GPU, you must uninstall the currently installed VIB and install new VIB, as described above. To uninstall the currently installed VIB:

    1. Stop all VMs using 3D acceleration.
    2. Place the ESXi host in maintenance mode.
    3. Open a prompt on the ESXi host.
    4. Turn off Xserver by running the command:

      /etc/init.d/xorg stop

    5. Remove the NVIDIA VMkernel driver by running the command:

      vmkload_mod -u nvidia

    6. Remove the VIB by running the command:

esxcli software vib remove -n NVIDIA-VMware

You can now install a newer NVIDIA GPU VIB.

  • Junk files from root directory

I have an ESXi server which seems to have several useless files the (directory / root).

I guess that a wrong script accidentally created these files, but now I'm not sure I can delete and I can remove it.

If someone could post a ls - lah of the (directory / root) 5 ESXi healthy?

You can go there.  The root folder is a RAM disk, so if you reboot the host it will recreate the directory structure and who should clean things up for you.

    Thank you

Im having the same problem on 4 ESXi hosts.  IM wondering if it is the same problem on esxi embedded and installable? Mine are integrated and I used the Update Manager.

Problem solved.  Spoke with VMWare and it looks like a bug.  They had me restart my hosts a second time and the errors disappear.  Then, after running the 4.1 update 1 on my hosts, and after that they charge, I ran a scan where I got the error.  The restarted again and now they work very well.
