Task bar move

This morning I opened Windows Vista to find my taskbar at the top of the screen instead
of the same bottom if I locked in the Properties menu. Microsoft says to move the
taskbar, click it and then drag it to a new location. I did it so many times, but it will not
move. Thanks for the help!

Mike,

The taskbar is unlocked. I have removed and right on the taskbar click the checkmark. The taskbar again

will not allow itself to be dragged. Thanks for your help. I appreciate your time.

Do a system restore. Take the date when you do NOT have such a problem as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Task bar obscures the ok button in the print window.

When I try to print, I click on the "print" key, but an another print window appears, with other adaptations can I do, if necessary. However, the OK button that controls the printer to begin printing, is on the bottom of this window and it is hidden by the background task bar. In other words, the window does not appear, and there no minimize or maximize button to reduce the size of the window, I can't see the OK button. I tried to minimize the taskbar and clicking on the top margin of the window to move to the top to reveal the OK button, but it is always hidden. I tried to go to control panel, display, appearance and change the resolution, but nothing helped.

    Hello

    ·         What program you are trying to print from?

    ·         Were you able to print before on the system without any problems?

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         Remember to make changes to the system?

Please provide details so that we can help you in a better way.

As a work around, I suggest you to press Alt + space, which opens a small menu in the upper left corner of the dialog box. Click the moved item or press M, which changes the four-headed arrow cursor. Use the up arrow key to move the dialog box until you can see the OK button and press ENTER to stop the "move" mode. Click the OK button.

    Hi hvactech2,

It looks like your system may be infected, see if you can get into Safe Mode first and then let me know.

The taskbar is resizable, like a window. Place the cursor on the edge and stir slightly to make it turn into a two-headed arrow. Click on, and then drag it to the desired size.

If it does not resize, it can be locked. In this case, do a right click on it and uncheck "Lock the taskbar", then try again.

Also note that if you have toolbars in the taskbar on multiple lines, you will not be able to reduce the size of task bar less than the number of lines. First, put all the toolbars on one line.

If you're still having problems, read the following from the ex - MVP Malke: "what is happening is that the end of 'margin' of the Quick Launch toolbar has got more to the right that it's now down below." Unlock the taskbar and then to 'capture' the dotted line on the lower bar (it will be a solid line if you use the classic style) and drag it up to immediately to the right of QuickLaunch icons. Now you have managed to make the shorter Quick Launch toolbar and can 'capture' the bar at the top of the taskbar and "push" down to the height of a regular level. »

  • No the Windows 7 TASK bar.

After the execution of Windows 7 for 6 months, decided I wanted my taskbar on the right instead of the left, but when I did drag the taskbar to the left side to the right side of the screen, the taskbar disappeared. I tried to re-start (by pressing the power button on the PC). And the taskbar are still missing.

I tried a right mouse... Customize... and selected of taskbar and MENU START to move the taskbar to the left side, but the taskbar is missing.  Also now when I do a right mouse on the desktop... then select Customize..., then select START MENU and TASK bar... the task bar dialog box does not appear.

To sum up... I don't have to enter this mess was to drag the taskbar to the left to the right of the screen and the taskbar disappeared.

    Hello

Have you ever had several monitors installed on this computer? Looks like the task bar may have been moved to a monitor that is no longer connected.

Right-click empty spot on the desktop, and then select the Screen Resolution.

If you see multiple display options, select the drop-down menu and click the option show desktop only on 1 . Click Apply/OK.

    Let us know the results.

Thank you for using Windows 7

  • Not maximizing the task bar when you click on Windows Explorer

When I place the mouse on the icon of the program in the taskbar Windows Explorer the small preview window/s is displayed but will not maximize in a large window.  When I click on it or right click "optimize" on the spotted, that nothing is happening.

In fact, probably we maximize or restore, but off the screen where you can not see.  This happened to me sometimes as well.

    Try this:

    1. hold SHIFT key and right-click on the icon in the task bar (or right click on the preview you did).
    2. choose the entrance to restore if it is not gray.
3 hold down the SHIFT key and click again on the icon in the taskbar.
    4. now, choose the entry of moving.
    5. without doing anything else, press one of the arrow keys (for example, the arrow on the left) of the keyboard.
    6. without anything click, move the mouse.  Your window should appear on the screen.
    7. click on the mouse to move the window, then you can resize or other to be where you want.

I suspect that this is a problem in several screen of Windows 7 support, and that the window actually believes that it is off on another monitor, even if you have no other active monitor.

  • Windows Explorer task bar

In all versions of Windows, I had and I think, even up until recently with Windows 7 when in Windows Explorer, the task bar at the top is what I call the traditional form. The choices are File, Edit, View, etc. Now I have choices as to organize, share, burn and new folder. I wish to retrieve the older view, but can't seem to find where it is.

You refer to the "menu bar".

In Windows Explorer, click organize , and then move your cursor over layout in the drop-down list that appears and click on the menu bar.  Now, the menu bar will be visible all the time.

The equivalent value in IE is made by pressing the Alt key, and then clicking the View menu entry in the Menu bar that appears temporarily.  Place your cursor on the point to toolbars , and then click menu bar which make visible all the time.

  • With the help of several monitorss, if I can get notifications box appears on all task bars?

I use 3 monitors with an AMD series 7xxx card. I would prefer not to use a 3rd party program to manage multiple windows. I wonder if it is possible with Windows 8 to display the notification on all task bars area. If so, how?

    Thank you.

I don't think that this is supported.

I use this work around: you can move the notification area on the screen you want (instead of just the main screen).

Right click on the task bar.
    Properties.
Uncheck the "display the taskbar on all screens.
    Apply.
Drag the taskbar 'primary monitor' rest on the screen you want.
Check "show the taskbar on all screens.
... you are finished. Want the notification area now on what you watch.

Unplug additional screens and notification area will return to the primary.

It would be VERY characteristic worth having the area of notification on all monitors.

  • Why should I minimize Firefox to access my Windows task bar?

My windows task bar are set to auto-hide. When I use Firefox, the windows taskbar will not open unless I minimize Firefox. This does not happen when I use Chrome or any other program. Someone at - it a way to solve this problem?

You can be in full screen. Press < F11 >.

  • Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.
