  Let us scan SFC and check that it prevents this error to occur.
  Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file.
  To do this, follow these steps:

  I recently made an update to the driver on a Thinkpad W7 Pro running. After the final reboot, the taskbar is frozen and I can't left or right click on the task bar icons.   As a work around, I suggest you to press Alt + space, which opens a small menu in the upper left corner of the dialog box. Click the moved item or press M, which changes the four-headed arrow cursor. Use the up arrow key to move the dialog box until you can see the OK button and press ENTER to stop the "move" mode. Click the OK button.

You can highlight the icons but not open any.  If you double-click you can highlight all other icons. also if you move the taskbar, the hourglass appears. About 3 weeks ago, I had freezes and removed with 1 user account and everything worked fine. Now, it started but I can't really start now the keyboard commands do not work. The system is new.
