Taskbar has no icons, desktop icons not moveable.

Hello, please help me, my taskbar is displayed normally but there no icons on it, for example, I'm using Google Chrome now but I don't see the icon on the taskbar. I have Windows XP Professional SP3.

Also when I try to copy-paste/move icons on the desktop, I can't do it, please help.

I found the answer... There is none... then you must create a new user profile. How is here. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811151

Microsoft has no response or a name for the problem then start from scratch.

I found the answer. For me, the answer was ComboFix. After scanning, everything worked perfectly! See the programs running and move icons.

Explorer is the question. Taskbar is part of the process explorer.exe only and it does not exist as a separate entity. Try the steps mentioned in my previous post about exploere.exe. If you cannot use the Task Manager, try the key combination to open the Task Manager: Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

However, if you cannot use the Task Manager, try to clean boot (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135) and check.

  • Desktop icons not working-not XP and right click disabled

    Hello

My computer has been infected by a trojan virus. My antivirus has identified and quarantined it.  As a result, the computer is back on the operation, however: 1 - the office is empty 2 - the mouse right click (or left) on the desktop does not.  3-all the icons disappeared and all the files, personal or other, are still on C:

What can I do to get a fully operational desktop computer?

    Thank you1

I don't see where any of these Support Engineer 'expert' who is hired by Microsoft ideas will help you.

These ideas are just more of their prosecution of wild goose that will just waste your time.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

How did you determine that all the files are still on C:?

See if you can get to by typing Ctrl-Alt-Del Task Manager.

Once you open the Task Manager, click the processes tab and see if explorer.exe is running or not.

If explorer.exe is not running (and must be), you will have the symptoms you describe.

If explorer.exe does not, in the Task Manager, click file, new task (run)... and in the open air:, enter:

    Explorer.exe

Click OK and see if your Desktop reappears and notice that explorer.exe is now a running process.

If so, you do not have 'fixed' your problem yet, but at least you will be able to maneuver if you can fix it.

We'll see if the 'expert' technical support which is retained by Microsoft engineer can pick up from here.

Original title: Kensington Trackballworks sometimes has several icons in the system tray

Every so often from the start (no apparent reason) multiple Kensington TrackallWorks icons appear in the system tray and the unit behaves erratically until all but one of them are closed. Behavior exhibited, it is as if one or more mouse buttons are kept pressed when they are in fact not to be affected. I use a Kensington Expert Mouse and TrackballWorks 1.04 K64325 model number. Uninstall and reinstall the driver didn't help, or does uninstalling and reinstalling Windows.

I checked with MSCONFIG, Autoruns and even when several copies work they show only one entry for the application. Any ideas /.

    Hello

Since you've already tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver/windows, this could be a hardware problem. Please try to contact the manufacturer of the mouse for assistance on this issue.

  • All the links on Wikipedia has an icon after it

I just got a new computer (Dell XPS15 running Windows 7). After you install Firefox 8, I noticed that every single link on Wikipedia now has an icon after him. This is the icon that USED only to appear after links off site, but now it appears after each link. It doesn't occur on any other page. Is this a computer problem, a Firefox problem or a problem of Wikipedia?

    You can attach a screenshot?

Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

    HELLO CLASSMATES.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO CLEAN THE TASKBAR BEFORE THE ICONS FOR ITEMS FROM THERE.

    PLEASE, I BEG YOU.

    Thank you.

    JOE

I had the same problem.  Mine was up here an easy solution.   Right-click on the taskbar and display the properties.  Check hide them icons inactive and click Customize.  I had multiple entries in the items being passed, including volume control icon.  Remove the elements in the item passed I have no idea from whence they came.  I ran MicrosoftFixit50015.msi (a Windows package install).  Then re-checked the past again and all elements had disappeared or been corrected.  SEEMS this file or box on the PC has become corrupted.  I changed the control volume on always point display.  Also, I went to control panel and sounds and re-checked the volume icon to Place in the taskbar.   Rebooted the system and has worked for me so far.  Good luck!

I donno why but I can't find the icon of my pocket pc (Hp Ipaq) on my computer, the device is connected (a USB icon on the task bar) but I can not navigate on the device in order to copy data for example, as there is no icon.

Notice that I can install programs on it (which means that it is recognized by the system), the Sync Center says it has disconnected, mobile windows manager shows that it is too disconnected (sometimes showing Error), but the device itself is to show that it is connected.
