  • Taskbar Win7 will not be hidden on auto hide.

When a program needs my attention the taskbar keeps popping up when it is on auto hide. Y at - it a setting to prevent this?

No, programs get to decide.  Microsoft believes that if a program needs your attention, he deserves that right (they let developers in charge)... mainly because business users complain if they don't offer a way for applications to the attention of the request, for example when an instant message is received.

You might be able to find a setting in the program to disable the flashing of the button on the taskbar (the call presents a "needy window" If you want to find information on the internet).

If it was useful, you can vote by clicking on the green triangle. If it solves the problem, click on propose as answer. Thank you!

  • Firefox shows upwards on the taskbar but will not maximize when clicking on window

I tried re installation, but when I click the icon it will appear on the taskbar but will not maximize.

It is a more detailed explanation of the above.

Sometimes, a window is "off the screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the search for the start bar menu (or Windows 8.1 may bar charms bar research?) type or paste the following and press ENTER to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

I am running Windows 8.1, the 64-bit operating system. I think that FireFox automatically updated today and now I can't start FireFox. I get a box of modules are being checked for compatibility. It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

  • SOLVED - reinstalled win7 will not recognize iomega hdd1h4

    Morning

I had to reinstall win7 due to file corruption. No harm to clean it anyway.

Everything is done, everything works fine except Win7 does not recognize my iomega HDD1H4 backup disk.

I used it for a few years without problem. I have established that the drive is functional and accessible (under linux), so it's a matter of Win7.

I did no BIOS or hardware changes.

(Hardware) troubleshooting says he finds something (the device may not have been recognized) and made a few changes and I should try again.

Still not recognized. It does not appear in Device Manager.

    Any suggestions please?

    Hi again reda

    Problem seems to be resolved!

I downloaded an update of the Asus chipset - makes no difference.

I am normally reluctant to use these driver-check-and-setting programs up to date but I decided to try one of Iobit - I used some software Iobit earlier. So I have downloaded and run Iobit pilot Booster 2. He showed three drivers, including drivers AHCI and IDE, as being very obsolete. I took a gamble and install.

Immediately after the start, the Iomega hard drive has been detected and was readable. I tried several times and each time that it has been detected immediately I turned on.

The only thing that is different now is the icon in the taskbar "safely remove material and eject the media" no longer displays NONE of my records. Previously, he showed all the drives (and their partitions) which were in use. I don't know if this is important - I can live with that.

I don't know why this was not a problem until I reinstalled it Win7?

In any case, the problem seems to be resolved.

I'll wait a day or two before marking this resolved.

    Thanks again for your help.

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Apple Watch will not pair manually or automatically

Watch became disconnected from the phone.  Followed all the instructions to disable the twinning / re-pair.  Automatic pairing fails repeatedly.  Manual matching fails as well - the watch never displays a 6-digit code.  Has anyone seen this before / resolved for it?  Thank you.

    Hello

For later use, it is not necessary to clear the pairing and re-pair Apple Watch when it is disconnected. If your watch becomes disconnected via Bluetooth and unable to connect to a Wi - Fi network, known at the time, it will display the icon disconnected on the dial of the Watch:

Bluetooth disconnects occur every time that the pair iPhone is not available (as in the iOS updates or when your iPhone is out of scope). The watch and the iPhone must reconnect automatically a short while after having reconciled being brought back.

If they do not automatically reconnect instead of disconnecting your watch, rather trying to keep your iPhone and Apple Watch close to each other and follow these steps until they reconnect:

    • Check that Bluetooth and Wi - Fi are activated on your iPhone:
      • It can help to turn Bluetooth on or off and turn it back on your iPhone (settings > Bluetooth).
    • Check that airplane Mode is not enabled on your watch:
      • When you display the time on your watch, drag upward on the dial of the watch > drag left / right to the glance of parameters.
        • If the glance of parameters says already connected and the symbol in the upper right corner is a green phone, your watch is already connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
      • If your watch is not connected and the airplane Mode is on, press the button to turn it off.
      • Otherwise, it can help to activate / turn off the airplane Mode again.
    • Restart both devices, both turn off together, and then restart your iPhone first.

For optimal performance of your watch, keep both Bluetooth and Wi - Fi enabled at all times on your iPhone.

No anti-virus.  UAC; Offshore, firewall: Off, Defender: Off.

Problem: Win Update was left alone for 24 hours for updates.

Installed originally KB3020369 and KB3125574 for Win7 64bits (ref: plugable.com/2016/06/08/windows-7-wont-update-what-to-do) immediately after the initial Win7 install.  Then set Win update to download but not install.  has been relieved to see the light indicating a positive action, confirmed by increasing the number of I/O activity reported through the Manager of tasks... for maybe 3 minutes of activity compatible disc.  Alas, no other disk activity.  Only 48% the use of the CPU by SVChost.exe.

Abandoned. Turn off updates.  Restarted.  Installed KB3102810, KB971058 & KB949104 (Ref: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-udate/windows-updates-keeps-searching-for-updates/...). Restarted.  A ran Win7 Fixit.  Restarted.  Reset the Win update to download but not install.  Not observed the same initial activity (3 minutes), then no more the disk activity and 48% processor utilization.

While the suggestions and contributions of the community are sincerely appreciated, am quite frustrated to see the extent of this problem is so widespread throughout the global community.

Am willing to reset/reinstall/rehearsal instructions clearly documented on the breakthrough with this jam.

    Hello:

Sometimes, you need to install the sata drivers in order for W7 install correctly.

    See if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx? AGR = Y & ProdId = 2101 & DwnldID = 23060 & keyword = Intel + Rapi...

Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without all records.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and I hope, will install W7.
