TD230 embedded RAID, several bays?

I use the controller RAID LSI embedded on board is equipped of connectors for 4 hard drives. I initially configured this server with a RAID1 mirror consisting of 2 hard drives, the operating system installed and put into production. Now the customer needs have changed, and I need to increase the storage capacity. My intention was to add two additional hard drives and configure a second RAID1 mirror. However, I found the MegaRaid management will allow only two new disks be of"relief" and does not allow me to create a second table. I tried to use the easy boot CD, so level Bios Manager, but both do not allow me to add another table, without destroing the original array. Who came across this and found a work around? Maybe a different Manager can be used? I would like to avoid unexpected additional costs of the addition of the 9240-8i controller card, but looks like I have to.

Thanks in advance.

You're limited with the integrated controller and will need to buy the 9240-8i for several berries.

  • Save several bays of nested loops

    Hello

    My vi generates several bays in each iteration of the loop, and I would like to save the data. I did work with the files before recording, but it's never with nested loops. I don't know how to keep the information of the iteration of one loop at the other. I would like suggestions. I made this sample & simple vi (attached file) that simulates the question I have. I have a file with a time column and different columns of food beside him.

    The first question I have is that I generate the time table only once, but a table of signal several times, so how can I keep the time table to drop several times? The other question, as stated above, saves the data in the table signal getting lost in the nested loops...

    Thank you

    A

    1. the first element of the first matrix signal IS always zero.  The Signal to simulate always starts at zero.  You compare it to the indicator of "first date".  Who got by converting the dynamic data type to a scalar.  And it's always the last element of the actual data.  And since the "first out" is replaced with each iteration of the inner loop, the number you see at the end is actually the latest iteration of the data.  Look at "First release" in comparison with the last element of your last column of the table and you will see they are the same.

    2. the reason why you have a first column that consists of the steps is because that's what you have wired to initialize the shift register.  If you look at my example, you will see that I have an empty array.  (The zero is gray.)  You, the 0 is not dimmed meaning there is an element.  Expand this table to view more items and expand the digital field and you will see more digits.  They correspond to what is in your first column.

  • hitTestObject with several bays

    Hello!

    I made a game and have a few problems

    I want to do a hitTestObject between several bays, I tried something like this:

    for (var i: Number = 0; i < array1.length; i ++)

    {

    array array1 [i] there-= 10; Moves an object to the top

    for (var a: number = 0; i < array2.length; a ++)

    {

    If (array1 [i] .hitTestObject (array2 [i]))

    {

    trace ("hit!");

    }

    }

    }

    When I run it, something which will detect the collision and will display 'hit', but some who will ignore. I also noticed that some opposes in array1 stop running the code for moving (array1 [i] there-= 10) after I added another picture.

    My question is: is at - it a more efficient way to do this? Or at least a way so that everything works fine

    Thanks in advance!

    There is a more correct way to do it... No I have

    If (array1 [i] .hitTestObject ([a] array2))

  • Insertion/thanks to the RAID controller plug in PCIe card in a UCS C220 M3, rather than embeded RAID controller?

    Hello!!

    We have a UCS C220 M3 server with a 1 TB SAS hard drive and a controller RAID embeded, like this:

    1

    UCS-HDD1TI2F212

    1 TB SAS 7.2 K rpm 3.5 inch HDD/hot plug/disc horse sleigh

    1

    UCSC-RAID-ROM15

    Embedded SW RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 4 SAS/SATA ports

    If I add this controller RAID PCI card to my UCS server:

    UCS-RAID-9266CV =

    MegaRAID 9266CV-8i w/TFM + Super CAP

    US $ 1,686.00

    Going to work with her, ignoring the old RAID embeded it configured?

    The question is that VMWARE is not supported controllers shipped my RAID, so I want to add an external RAID PCI controller to support VMWARE.

    I don't know if it will work.

    Thank you!!

    Rodrigo,

    The embeded controller is built and not removable, it is integrated into each C220/C240. The units are designed to operate with PCIe controllers and mezzanine table when it is properly configured.

    Once you install the controller of the SIPC, you will need to do the following:

    (1) move the conectors mini SAS to the motherboard in the LSI PCIe controller

    (2) make sure that the slot PCIe what optionrom is enabled in the BIOS. (newer systems have their OptionROM disabled in the uninhabited slots (from the factory). If you do not see the OptionROM for the POST, then go back into the BIOS and enable the slot PCIe OptionROM

    (3) while you are in the BIOS, you can thus turn off Patsburg UCS regulatory table (the table embeded). It is of no use at this stage that you removed the cables up to the HARD drive Bay. It is also misleading if left active, you will see the configuration of arrays of LSI utility appear twice during POST. Time for the embeded and once again for the PCIe LSI controller.

  • Several bays in P410 controller for presentation to ESXi?

    All,

    I have a server HP DL180 G6 with a P410 (512 BBWC) and 8x1TB the SATA drives.

    Final objective:

    (A) to create a single RAID 5 array w/hot or RAID50 table using all the physical disks

    (B) logically divide the RAID 5 / group RAID50 sparer < volumes 2 TB for presentation to ESXi

    The problem I have is that I can't find a way to make B) above work with the P410 controller. When I enter the RAID level configuration of the bios that I have options to create, view, and delete logical drives. Once I have do A) above, which seems to be the end of the road and I have no way to sculpt the space free until further forward to install ESXi. I also tried to use the configuration utility of the table offline (ACU) but don't see any options/benefits to the wire by using the configuration at the bios level.

    As you know, does not recognize ESXi > 2 TB volumes so I need to divide up to < volumes 2 TB before taking the step of ESXi.  Once I can do that, I'll create a volume of 10 to 20 GB for ESXi and several < volumes 2 TB until the remaining free space is used.  I will then use scopes to string together them in VMware.

    One of the solutions is to create a matrix RAID 1 on disc (2) and TWO RAID 5 arrays (3) disc to use all the disks.  ESXi sees so all of the logical volumes without problem.  I would really like to find a way to make B) above work so I don't have to lose the extra parity disks.

    It is not possible with the P410, or is there something that I am missing?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello

    I can tell you that we do exactly this map on multiple LUNS.

    It was done with the latest firmware and started the last Smartstart CD to access the ACU.

    Create a table, select all discs, when asked for a fair size "reduce." Then click on 'create the logical matrix' to build your second. Tip Smartarray license is not necessary.

  • GCCA 3ware 9650SE RAID several paths

    I have a card to SATA RAID 3ware 9650SE on my box of esxi. I've implemented since my previous esxi 3.5 installation several paintings, one being 4x1TB led to a RAID 5. I activated the function autocarving in the configuration of 3ware split of this table in a 2 TB LUNS, the rest going to a logic unit number separate. Using the oem.tgz created by 3ware, it worked flawlessly.

    I've since upgraded to esxi4 using the new vmware certified drivers for the 3ware card. Everything seems to work fine until I noticed that was missing the second LUN mentioned above. After a bit of Googling, I tracked down the culprit.

    VMkernel: 0:02:46:07.508 cpu7:39633) WARNING: VMW_SATP_LOCAL: satp_local_claim: VMW_SATP_LOCAL does not support several paths per device.  Refusing to claim the vmhba1:C0:T1:L1 path.

    My question is simply can get around this? The 3ware card will work with any of the other types of native storage? If so, what should I do?

    good news!

    the device id t10. AMCC___V0258752290BCA003458 should be unique, maybe 3ware can tell how to configure each lun unique id?

  • Write several bays in one xml file at different times without overwriting the old file?

    Hi my name is Dustin,

    I am new to labview and teststand... I try several tables of data in a single XML right. I can do this with a cluster but I need to create a variable for each of these pictures (21 pictures) and I was hoping to use the same variable for each table. Which means that I get my data table write in an xml file and replace this table in this variable with a new table and then call my VI who writes this table in an xml file and write to the same file xml under the first table without crushing. My VI I created to write a table to an xml file is attached. Yet once I wonder if there is a way to write several berries in a single at different times xml file, without overwriting the old file xml.

    Thank you

    Hi dlovell,

    See the attached example. I think he can help you.

    Kind regards

  • Get the table to an XML file with several bays

    Hello

    So I was faced with this program I have for the past few months but I'm almost there. I have a program that creates several berries and place one after the other in an xml file, and each table has its unique name. Now, I would create a VI that takes this XML file and when the user enters the name of the table specific they are seeking it goes into the xml file concludes the table in its entirety under this name and displays in an indicator of output to be read on the VI. A sample of my xml file and the VI that creates this xml file is attached.

    Thank you

    Something like this should work for you.

  • Delete several bays

    I'm reading a text file. I have a simple question. I need to remove two rows in a table. I want to use the function remove the table. But I read that I can wire index only one entry. I have a total of 8 rows. I want to remove the first two lines of the table.

    Cited the help of LabVIEW, "you can delete several consecutive subdashboards both by the lengthof wire."

    Exactly how?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Build an array of several bays

    Hello

    I'm currently trying to build a program that generates and displays a Gaussian (graph) of several optical spectral results (achievements and each saved on a different worksheet file). Results will be all that I recorded with the wavelength and the name of the file will be each added a number:

    so I have several spreasheet files...   1. txt: 1550, 2. txt - 90: 1550, etc.-85...

    I want to put it all in a single table, or spread sheet so that I can view everything as 1 Gauss curve: 1, 2-90,-85 etc...

    can anyone help? I was thinking about a certain look to add the spreadsheet files I recalibrated in the loop, but this doesn't seem to be workin

    Thank you very much

    Something like that?  Load the take file column and built a table 2D for columns?  It may be transposed, I'm not sure.

  • Cisco C240-M4SX / 12G SAS Embedded Raid Controller Queue depth Reporting resulting in ESXi 6.0

    All,

    We have been a customer of vSAN VMware 6.0 for the last 6 months of our environment entirely on servers of Cisco C240 M4SX with the Cisco 12 G SAS integrated Raid Controller.   Everything in the environment was working well until we started to bring in data warehouse loads in the environment and began to notice performance around latency of disk and most important issues still outstanding IO high.  After that ESXtop and ESXCFG examination we found that the length of the queue announced to the adapter ESXi has been only 234 however the VMware HCL Announces 895; 234 is below minimum spec of 256 to correctly implement vSAN.  We have worked diligently with VMware on it to try different versions certified and non certified driver async for this raid controller in addition to the most recent firmware for the raid controller.  Regardless of the change of the depth of the queue remained 234.  The presence of FBWC affect the depth of queue announced to the operating system?  VMware support has indicated that it is clearly a problem "hardware".  Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

    Greetings.

    Had the chance to spend some time in the laboratory and removed the cache module.

    After that, I now get "207", so I would say it's confirmed that 1,2,4 GB cache modules are used to increase the depth/length of the queue for these controllers.

  • The highest element of several bays

    I have four tables 1 d (each approximately 80 long items) stored in locations slightly different in a cluster of 'Super' (the most relevant levels can be seen in the image below). I need to find the value of the highest element in these paintings. I came with two methods, but it's getting late in the day and they all seem sadly convoluted. What is the best/better way to do this? In a similar example, I also find the item lowest of four different pictures.

  • LVOOP - 1 table of Parents in several bays of the child?

    I have 3 types of channels in my system. DI, I and AO.

    I want to create a Parent class that has 3 children for each of my types of channels.  It's because I want to store (on disk using flatten chain) all my channels together as an array of strings.  It's ok because I can use the 'to the more generic class"and a record in a table of my parents (CHANNEL class).

    The problem is when I read this array of objects.  I can read my array of objects parent but then I want to transform my array of objects of string into an array of objects, an array of objects HAVE and an array of objects of the DI AO.

    Any ideas?  Thank you.

    Hi nathand thanks for the ideas.  I've implemented it as you sugested.  Is there a way to make it more scalable?

    You might abuse the primitive preserve Run-Time class, as shown below. This divided the table parent tables separated for each class of the child, but the type of each element of these tables is always the parent type, even if they are transporting children. Not sure if that's what you want, or not.

    Lewis_G wrote:

    The child the more classes i, messier, fine.  Even if the code is the same for both, I can't have a Subvi generic because the child class is different for the two.  Don't you think it's a good idea to have a new class of table for each child.  For example, I could make a class with a method that has a channel enter parent and trys to add it to the guard?

    This could be very good, if it meets your needs.

    Otherwise, add a method to the class called parent Type Get and override it in each class of the child, and then call on each element of the array to determine its type.

    And make sure that the type is a string, otherwise problems ensure later in life...

    I thought to mention that when I offered everything first, but then I thought that there could be situations in which an enum would work very well if you don't mind violating good OOP practices. Yes, the parent should know his children and you need to know about all children at design time, but if you can accept these terms then an enum is simple. I'm undecided about whether I would never apply this solution if I were to try to solve this problem in my own code.

  • Align several bays in value

    I have a number of files, and each file contains two columns: X 1, Y1; X 2, Y2; X 3, Y3; etc.

    These files are curves Bell just shaped where the peaks reach X different values (in other words, the peaks are shifted).

    I will generate a file with X 1, Y1, Y2, Y3, etc. such as the Y maximum each file is in the same place as X 1.

    The idea is to move these curves so that they are all on top of each other as much as possible. The attached Excel sheet shows what I want.

    How can I do this?

  • ID of the LUN duplicate when you use several bays

    I'll put up a new battery of VMware in a large company, where EMC and Netapp without are used.

    I asked a storage engineer to present a RDM on the Netapp SAN LUN. They have gave it a LUN ID 0. Unfortunately, my boot LUN on the EMC also has a LUN ID 0. This resulted in two LUNS tables separated with the ID 0. The targets are different and the paths are all.

    I've never had duplicate LUN like this before and I was wondering if there is a problem, and if it is commonly encountered in many situations of table. Maybe I need to be more specific with SAN engineers whose LUN ID they present at the same time, is this something the SAN engineer chooses their console?

    Do I need to worry about this at all? I screen dumped two LUNs.

    I can tell you that we have duplicated LUN that come from different tables in our environment as well (that I inherited from the previous engineer).  From what I remember the pain only treats that LUN comes easily what follow up dashboard, we have no technical/performance problem that arises from this.

    I make it a point to cut LUN with different identifiers now simply for ease of tracking.

    Hope that helps a little, and someone another chimes in!
