Technical issue of blackBerry 8220 Smartphone custom ringtone

OK, I'll start by saying thanks to God for this forum, lol... I got my flip for about a week now and have finally understood what I was doing wrong with my ringtones. I had them in the wrong file... Anyway, to my question, when I quand je recois get a call the phone vibrates twice and then the ringtone. Y at - it a way to make it sound only? I didn't need it vibrates the initial 2 times. Thank you!

Profiles > advanced > highlight the profile you want to edit > menu button > edit. Now select the type of event you want to change the sound. Whenever you assign a ringtone to a contact, the phone creates an exception that said the BB if that contact calls use this ringtone instead of the default ringtone.

  • BB of Smartphones blackBerry pearl 8130 custom ringtones

I am a newbie (had my bb for Christmas) and my experience so far has not been very pleasant. I've assigned personal ringtones.  Initially, they worked very often for some people, and now they don't work for everyone.  I had to have the phone wiped out this past Wednesday and I have everything set up again through the profiles, exceptions etc and now NONE of them work.  I don't even know who's calling me, because the names don't pop either... just the number with the default ringtone.  I tried EVERYTHING I read and nothing works.  I just a phone of shit or what?

any help, suggestions, etc. is GREATLY appreciated, I'm at my wits end.

  • BlackBerry 8220 Smartphone navigation

I can be a bit stupid, but how to navigate to the "phone app" to customize some features of my 8220. I can get in applications but can't 'Phone' from there. The icons that appear are 'Notepad', 'Task', 'Calculator', etc.

I'm looking in the wrong area?

I don't know exactly what you're asking, but I will attempt an answer. If my answer is not what you are looking for please provide more details so that someone can help you.

Using the menu button and the "back" button, you will have him in and out where all applications are accessible. To change your line House (applications that always appear on the home page), you need to move those you want for the top of the page. Get there by selecting the one you want to move (do not open) not push your menu button and select MOVE. Then scroll down to the new position at the top. Let me know if it helps.  James

  • User issues new blackBerry 9530 Smartphones

I have 3 questions I hope to get an answer on my blackberry:

    1. How can I prevent my 9530 texted me whenever I get a voice message?

    2. I use AOL email on my storm.  When sending e-mail messages, how can I remove the "sent from my Verizon Wireless Blackberry" mesaage

    3. What is the last update sw for the 9530.  I currently have 4.7.0.75

    Thank you.

Oops... fixed on the point 2... you might not see on your handheld to BB. On the contrary, if you have not yet configured a BIS ID/password, do it on your storm (Setup > E-mail settings)-do not create an @BB email address, simply create the new account and the ID/password. Then, from a PC, go to the website of the ASBL BIS:

    https://bis.na.BlackBerry.com/HTML?brand=VZW

Connect using the credentials that you created on your Storm. Change the AOL account and the auto-sig will be there.

  • Thematic issue of blackBerry 8320 Smartphone

I went to change my theme today, and after clicking to save her, he began to reload the surreal theme and will not. He is there and the unfimilar hour glass figure up and down, but never loads. After about 1 minute, it evokes a real small error log "App Error 523" "Reset". Click on the ball to zero and it repeats. I removed the battery for up to an hour to reset itself and the same results. I tried other buttons to see if she will do anything with no luck. What should I do?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Ko this treats a very similar mistake... and I remember the resolution for your error being the same. It's pretty much a complete device OS reload... I hope that you already have a recent backup, or you have your data to the organiser within a desktop PIM... cuz it is likely that the data are already gone of your BB.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry smartphones make my own custom ringtone

Simple question, how can I make my own custom ringtone & how can I install it on my BB Pearl 8220

Get an mp3 file and save it on micro-sd card in your device.

To save the mp3 file, there are two ways available: Roxio Media Manager (comes with Blackberry Desktop Manager with Media Manager) and when to use your Blackberry as a USB device.

    I recommend the second way.

Transfer your mp3 ringtones folder on your micro-sd card file.

After that, the mp3 file will be available to set as a ringtone custom to a contact in address book.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones downloaded Custom ringtones for different profiles?

    Hello

Just had heavy PRIV top of page a few days ago and I'm trying to not to regret the purchase. I need help.

For the life of me I can't find where to add a personalized ringtone or sound notification to my list of contacts other than the few that are already on the PRIVATE list. NO, don't tell me choose only those cables the list provided.

On other Blackberry phones that I can download a sound or a song. I can't find the option for this on the PRIVATE if it is not that I'm back there. OVerpirced piece of fancy S * & %. I am beyond frustrated.

    Thank you.

It is very easy to set custom ringtones for each contact you want... also add any sound as a ringtone.

Install a file manager (I use ARE), copy any wav, ogg, mp3 audio file etc to/0/ringtones
    These will be immediately available.

in your contacts list to change any contact (pencil top right corner), then hit up 3 points to the right and "set the tone".

Hello and welcome on the BlackBerry Forums

  • Setting custom ringtones, blackBerry smartphones

    Hello

I downloaded 3 ringtones for my 8320.  I tried to put ringtones customized for specific people.

I went to the list of contacts - edited my contact and apply a custom ring tone.

Then in the box - less advanced - profiles I tried specifying "use an active profile EXCEPT for: and selected the friend I assigned a specific ringtone."

When my phone rings that person or I receive an SMS on their part... It still sounds generic ringtone for all calls and sms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the blackberry forums.  Ringtones ringtones and SMS are set up differently as my friends shared above.  I agree with JSanders, SMS is a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it - it won't take you long!  It took me awhile to do - but I did it! I followed these sub JSANDERS management.

It's complicated for SMS ringtones, but possible. Follow the instructions here:

This work around will allow you to receive specific alerts for e-mail and messages from specific senders:

(Works with OS 4.2 and later)

    1. go to the profiles on your BlackBerry and create a custom profile, naming the name of your sender targeted.

    2. Edit and change the custom ringtones that you prefer for this contact message notifications, Messages of level 1, MMS, phone and SMS for this profile. You don't change things like the calendar, tasks, and Messenger alerts do not matter for individual users.

    3. once all your ringtone settings are defined for the new custom profile, save the changes. Now, you will be in your list of profiles and see your customized profile that there are listed with the standard.

    4. now click on the wheel, and then select new Exception.

    5. title except for what you want (would be smart to again name the name of this particular contact).

    6. in the line, click the trackball or trackwheel and select the user in your address book. They should show now in your line.

7 scroll to the bottom and change the option use the active profile in your custom group newly created profile.

    8. you can dislodge the "Custom phone Tune" box if you already have a custom phone tune for this contact, or leave it and set it in the new custom as well profile.

    9 save the changes.

Now once you have followed these for each SMS contact - click Save as indicated by the number nine.  Go back to your profile and click on normal or hard for the sound profile. Make sure that you have all of the exceptions already in your area of exception for those you did a SMS tone for. If you do, remove them so you your SMS does not work.  You can actually set your ringtones under each one that you set up as well. When you change your SMS sounds, you can click on the phone and change your ringtone to that specific one.  Hope you can understand this.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones WITH the STORM's MAJOR PROBLEM! -Custom ringtones are NOT vibrate or go silent

According to the Guide to storm: "you can receive different notifications for incoming messages and calls from specific contacts or groups of contacts. Call and message notifications for your contacts are received even if you switch your sound profile silent or vibrate only. »

In other words, if you are in a meeting and on vibrate or silent mode, the phone will ring always if a call is received by a contact with a custom ring tone.  It is a defect and design MAJOR, in my view, totally unacceptable.  On all other BBs, vibrate and silent mode apply to all calls/messages - even those with custom ringtones.  Why is different from the storm.  He made the custom meaningless since once assigned ringtones, they can never extinguish. so for BB users who regularly attend meetings beware!  Assign a custom ring tone will be a career limiting move.

As a loyal BB user for 5 years and more, I humbly ask RIM to fix this ASAP!

I guess that when I changed it to the volume of the active profile that it would float to the active profile, being far away when it is to vibrate or silent or normal.  That doesn't seem to be the case.  It would be more logical than sense, though.

However, I made a temporary fix.  I created a custom profile I call silent default.  I put the ringtone in this profile to:

    Ringtone: Ringer_ClassicPhone

    Volumeilent

    LED: Normal setting

    Vibration: on

This causes the vibration when one of the call of people custom ringtone.

  • Smartphones blackBerry Curve 8330 custom Notifications

Hi all. New Blackberry user here. Just got the unit yesterday and spent a few hours trying to get everything put in place.

The problem I have is trying to get my notifications customized to work with my contacts.

    OK, so here we are:

A sender sends me a text or email and I want to let Notifier_ChiGong as the sound for them.

B the sender sends me a text or email and I want to tell you its A on my media card to play for them.

Now, I want all the other texts and emails from all over the world (on or not on my contact list) to play lets say its B on my media card to play for these.

When I get a voice mail notification, I would sound completely different, let's say C sound of my media card to play in this one.

I tried establishing exceptions and everything, but nothing works... All emails texts and voicemail notifications the same b strong and healthy parts.

I searched the forums, but I can't understand this thing for the life of me. Everything else is coming for me as I continue to play with the device. I also spent 2 hours last night manually keying in my contacts in this unit, because my previous phone was not a smartphone, and I didn't Sync in my email software and destroy my many lists of various contacts...

Andy help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Its Smartphones Custom Contact SMS blackBerry overrides his Email selected in the active profile

OK - I've been googlig it ALL morning. I would like to know if there is a fix for this.

I put a bunch of ringtones customized for friends and family, as I always have with my previous Blackberry (8310, 8900 and 9000) devices...

With the 9700 When you change a ringtone to contacts, you will need to change the sound of their messages. Now I didn't have different sounds for different contacts when it came to mail, so, I selected just the noise I had chosen when customizing my normal profile in the hope that all texts of all users play the same sound. Text messaging works very well. However, emails... not so much. Because I HAD to change their sound messages, now - whenever I get an email from one of the contacts that have a custom ringtone, the tone of the text goes off instead of the email, I chose! I have emails and texts is going to separate folders... I guess this happens because the custom only option it gives me is to change users 'message' noise and not "sms or e-mail.

I want to have custom ringtones for people when they call me and a tone for all sms/mms and a tone for all the emails. I am angry.

I know that other people have this problem... Help someone. I want to throw my phone = /.

    Hello katierestes,

This feature is by design, custom messages alert applies to all messages (email, SMS, MMS), there is no option to specify TEXT of e-mail when you customize the alert contact.

I don't seem to be able to put ringtones for my Contacts. I go through the correct procedure and click on the desired ringtone and then nothing happens. If I click on save, I find myself with the original settings. The problem is not with the ringtones themselves, as I can put one of them as your ringtone Global - they do not work as custom ringtones.

Sorted! I didn't properly, you must pass parameters, Notifications, the Notifications of Contact.
