Step by step 10.6.8 to El Capitan, most hardware implemented at level?

Have a mid-2010 7.1 Macbook 13 "- want to upgrade RAM from 2 GB to 8 GB (I read that it is possible although it is above the official max)." Also want to swap the 250 GB HARD drive for an SSD 500 GB and upgrading to Snow Leopard to El Capitan.

Steps (please notify if I'm right, or if there are better ways):

1 buy the RAM and SSD and include a USB box in order

2. attach the SSD on computer with USB, format the drive properly (? what?)  and clone an original disc of SSD using Carbon Copy Cloner (?)

3 upgrade SSD to El Capitan and ensure that all works/boots etc.

4. replace in the RAM

5 Exchange disks; keep the old drive as a bootable backup

Is this fair? The order seems good? What about the format of form and can I clone choice?

I wanted to create a bootable on USB installation drive, I want to upgrade to another laptop soon - but we all miss 10.6.8 and I can't find instructions anywhere to do this. All tips (orders of Terminal and DiskMaker etc.) seems to start at 10.7 +... 10.6 is not supported.

If anyone could advise how to do this, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much!

https://discussions.Apple.com/docs/doc-6271 has much more important as to considerations if it is worth.  Backup your data, make sure that your applications and drivers are all compatible, then consider if the rest is interesting.  SSD while nice is not essential to El Capitan.  Software compatibility is.    Format with the GUID Apple HFS + formatting. https://discussions.Apple.com/docs/doc-3003 covers the formatting more in detail

  • How to skip a step programmatically?

    Hi dear ALL,

Could you suggest me a solution for my task? It is necessary to go through the program steps specified during the execution of the sequence. For example, I have a skipStep of type boolean parameter. And I want to connect this setting at certain stages. When the sequence is run with skipStep = True, execution Options of these steps will be Skip. Is it possible to implement?

    Thanks in advance,

    Max,

This is possible. Evaluate your local variable true or false in the precondition of the step. Look in the computer.seq example to see how it's done.

    I hope this helps.

  • Property path to the current step running

    Hello
I see an "access point" error for a step property path, only when the step is a sequence that is a subsequence call.  When these properties of the stage are access from the sequence of high level (the one that is open when the pass is started), I don't get the error.  These are the same steps, copy / pasted.  The code of step module is actually labview, write values of teststand using the tool 'set the value of property.  The property path that I use is:

    ThisContext.RunState.Sequence.Main ["" "].

When executing the step of a sous-suite called by the sequence of high level, I can put a breakpoint on the market, made a right click Navigate to the property of the step and copy / paste the above path.  If the property does not exist whether the top-level or a sous-suite.  When breakpointing in labvew on the error, I can browse the above property at the same time I get the error on also.  I see that there is, but still, I get an error.
I guess my question is, is there a property path that can reference always reliable for the current step, no matter where it is in the hierarchy of the sequence?  I went through and all I can find is the path of the above property.

    Thank you

    Hi Dave,.

After talking with a co-worker of mine, we came up with a way to get the current context of the sequence in your code module.  Basically, we have the frame of the sequence of when the code module was called initially.  Then, you can use the context of the sequence to get running, allowing you to get the current thread.  Of this, you can get the context of the sequence of this thread and have access to everything you need from there.  We have created an example program that has a sequence that launches a VI that passes just a while loop and displays the current name of the sequence.  Here is a screenshot of the code module:

  • Time Machine restore problems

Me again... still to try to recover my drive hard because I tried to make the Boot Camp.

In preparation for boot from the external drive, I had a cool time machine backup of the system. The system was Captain El.

When I started pressing cmd + R to choose the way to go, I entered the utilities disk and tried to format/erase the existing partitions so that one new partition could be created, and then I use boot camp to install windows again.

Somehow after I did that and came back to restore options the system reported it no were not available to boot from the boot floppies and asked me to tie a boot disk. Having no other than the old drive boot disk that I had replaced out of the computer when he was a Maverick, I used as a startup disk and go to revive the position and where I chose what to do.

When I choose now to restore from the external drive that has my time backup machine El captain on this program trying to install for a bit, and then he told me that ' year error occurred during the addition of a system of recovery on the destination disk. It then asks me to restart to get rid of the problem, and of course the problem won't go away.

If I choose to reset the computer he'll want to maverick. I agree with going back that far and punting again and I'll probably have to do this because it appears that I have no other choice. I hope that I can install Maverick and then restore my El Captain off the external drive.

    Hello Farzad_K,

Thanks for asking for help with Time Machine here in Apple Support communities. I am pleased to offer you things to check this.

Since your Mac is fairly new, I recommend first start in recovery of the Internet. Here is the article on this subject: on Mac OS recovery. I know it says it's the Sierra, but the steps are the same for El Capitan. Use the second set of instructions for the recovery of the Internet with the keys: command ⌘ ⌥ (alt) Option and the letter R.

For this with the drive installed that you want to install OS X El Capitan to. If you have changed to the older readers with the Mavericks, switch back, and then run the recovery of the Internet. This will fix your hard drive and then allows you to install the operating system from Apple servers. Then you can restore the backup, or try to run a Migration Wizard using this help article: move your content to a new Mac.

Thanks again and relax your day wonderful.

  • Upgrade to El Capitan in Yosemite

I have a fairly new MacBook Pro running Yosemite. I was going to upgrade to El Capitan, but now he me Sierra offers instead. I don't want to do because of the risk that £500 dollars worth of software (File Maker Pro 11, final draft 8, Office 2011) will stop working.

My office is running El Cap, and applications above all work fine.

In my view, there is the ease of upgrade to El Cap, but he seems to be reserved for people running older versions. Do you think I can upgrade using this path? Or everything will go horribly wrong?

  • Camera work is not on iphone6

Help. Finished ios10 update on the iphone 6 last week and now my camera is not working, just a black screen. Any advice would be appreciated with gratitude!

    Hey Roxy Thomas,.

I'd be lost with my iPhone camera does not. Lets see that tiny can do to get this resolved for you.

First thing we want to do is to ensure that we have a backup of your iPhone on iTunes or in iCloud.

Let then press on "settings > general > reset > reset all settings" your iPhone will reboot and once it is running gain test the camera.

If this does not work then should be to restore the device. Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup goes over all the steps to do this.

These two steps can solve these types of problems, most of the time.

    Cheer.

  • Outlook crashes each time I have send an email

My Microsoft Outlook crashes whenever I send a mail!

I have updated my office 365 and updated my Mac OS, but I still have the same question.

    Thanks for your response

    Hi there, SpiceMatrix!

Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities. From your post, I understand that your Microsoft Outlook is quit unexpectedly when you try to send an e-mail. I rely on email everyday, so I know it is important that your e-mail client works and would be happy to help you!

I have some basic troubleshooting to that I can recommend to help determine if the problem is related to your OS X software and fix it in this case. Please, try the following steps in order.

    1. Quit the Microsoft Outlook application, by following the steps described here: OS X El Capitan: Quit apps

Once the application has been exited, re - open and now the SHIFT key on your keyboard. Try to send an e-mail.

    2. If the application closes always, restart your Mac by clicking on the menu Apple  and selecting restart... in the drop-down menu. Once the computer is back on, open Microsoft Outlook and try to send another e-mail.
    3. You can continue troubleshooting if the app close unexpectedly again by restarting the Mac in safe mode. Instructions for using the safe mode can be found here: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

Even if the title of the article is not exactly the same as the problem you are experiencing, safe mode is still a big step to take. She will run a scan of your system when starting and also disable some software and processes that may be causing a conflict. Once in safe mode, try to send an e-mail. If Microsoft Outlook continues to quit smoking, try the next step.

    4. Test Microsoft Outlook in a different user account. The following article will give you some information on how this can be useful, as well as instructions on the implementation of a new user: How to test a question in another account on your Mac user
    5. Must waive the application in a different user account, my next recommendation is to uninstall and reinstall the software. You can get instructions on how to uninstall Microsoft Office on Microsoft here support site: uninstall Office 2016 for Mac

    See you soon!

Sorry, but we don't have access to your PC, so we have no way of knowing how much damage was inflicted and (therefore) have no way to answer your question is to how to be saved.

We need to know if your PC comes with preinstalled Win10 or if you upgraded a previous OS and if so, the version of the previous operating system.

What we can do here is provide some troubleshooting steps you can take.

First thing I would do, is try to follow these guidelines to confirm the hard drive is OK: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support

If the hard drive has failed, you will need to replace and order HP recovery media to restore your PC to working conditions, and until you have done, there is little value to test anything else.

If the hard drive has not failed, here are a few troubleshooting steps you should try:

HP Notebook PC - hardware failures (10, 8 Windows) screening | HP® customer support

Black screens with no start-up or start-up error message. HP® customer support

Regarding the Win10 install media, you can make a DVD or a USB key from this link: install Windows 10 using the tool of creation of media - Windows help

NOTE: Be sure to select the SAME version of Win10 that was running on your PC.  When downloading on the original PC, the tool knows which version is right, but since you're using another PC, there is no way of knowing that.  IF you download a different version, it will NOT be activated.

If you are not able to run ANY diagnostic because you cannot wake the portable computer, then your only recourse will be to send or bring in a HP repair center to fix it - and it the laptop is not under warranty, which can be very expensive!

Here is information on Service Centers: HP Notebook PC - use a repair center certified HP to repair a laptop | HP® customer support

    Good luck

Just started today. Have you tried to restart the computer a couple of times and it did not help. Have installed nothing again.

  • Qosmio F15 - issue of recovery PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

    Hi all:

This laptop has been infected with tons of spyware and a nasty virus disabled things like the ability to view the elements of the workstation in addition to shared folders. He changed the time and instead put the infection by the Virus or something to that effect.

He had pop ups and was not easy to manage, so I used the Toshiba Recovery and Applications format of the HD DVD, then reinstall it by default. Complete installation with no error message. Then when it restarts, it goes to the start Qosmio screen and then flashes (very quickly) and a blue screen then travels to the menu of the advanced options (where you can choose Safe mode).

Regardless of the mode that I choose, it will always be the same thing-show the Qosmio screen, a quick blue screen, then return to the menu advanced options.

XP Media 2005 Edition came with the computer, but as the CD of the plant was not working, I decided to try to install XP Pro. Shortly after that it starts to install the Setup files, I get a blue screen with the following text:

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-29V only about 2 months, and suddenly the hard drive (very full) is apparently dead.
