Tecra A11-126 - can't leave mode "idle"

Hello

I have a problem with a Tecra A11-126. When the laptop has to start at the "idle" mode, it nothing"happens." The screen remains black, the fan is going strong, but the small LED lights green (in front of the laptop next to the stop/sur-symbole). The only thing I can do is to restart the laptop using the button Off / On.

Do you have any suggestions for me, why this is happening?

Best regards
Anna

Hey,.

Wait a moment please, it s a bit confused

What do you mean with "idle" mode? You shut down the computer, or was it in the Hibernate or standby mode?

And what LED you mean exactly that green switches? On the left side of the power CONDUIT it s the AC adapter LED and across battery LED.

Then, you talk about restarting the laptop using the / disable the button. This means that the laptop starts properly if you do this or have you noticed the same problem then?

  • Tecra A11 for PA3508E-PRP1 (Express Port Replicator)?

The Express Port Replicator PA3508E PRP1 can be used with Tecra A11? Given all that I have read the answer would be no, or Advanced Port Replicator or Express Port Replicator II would be necessary. But the port replicators are very similar on the upper side (connectors). Perhaps it is an old item that no one it lists as compatible more precisely?

is that you must use compatible devices only with laptop Tecra yout and according to specification for your Tecra A11, you can use Express Port Replicator II with PA3680E-1PRP part number.

This port replicator is designed for latest Tecra and Portege laptop models.

  • Can not leave completely insensitive - Firefox, use Safe Mode, reinstall or uninstall

I installed Firefox less than a month ago. Two days ago, that he left suddenly during the navigation. This does seem like a problem, really - I thought I would just restart - but it REMAINS open. Shows the icon in my dock (on Mac), and the menu bar appears when I click on the icon. I can browse the menu selections but can not choose one.

    I can't:
-Leave Firefox - from the menu or with Ctrl + Q
    -Open a new fenΩtre
    -Open help
    -Access to "troubleshooting information.
-Select "restart with modules disabled...". »
    -Use the Safe Mode

Because I can not use Safe Mode and cannot leave the program, I have IMPOSSIBLE:
-Uninstall (it refuses to remove, because the program is 'open', as it won't leave)
-Reinstall (I can't substitute the existing because the program is 'open')
    -Remove my dock
    -.. pretty much anything else.

I've read many articles dealing with troubleshooting, Safe Mode, reinstall clean, etc, but unfortunately I can't make one of these because Firefox is open but completely insensitive.

(PS - I tried to install the below troubleshooting information, but, even once, because Firefox is not responding, I couldn't open it lol - there was "no application available" to read it.) I can't go through the manual steps because I cannot access the troubleshooting information in the Help menu and so cannot even begin step 1.)

If anyone has any suggestions, I would be VERY happy! I thank very you much for your time and help!

If qutting, it's because of the questions are now trying down option as you click the icon in the dock and choose force quit from the list!

Also you have tired Fox fire rest functionality (otherwise said if your power to access)
    To do:

    1. Go to Firefox > help > troubleshooting information.
    2. Click on the button 'Reset Firefox'.
    3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is finished, it will display a window with the imported information. Click Finish.

  • want to 5540: can I leave my printer connected 24-7? Does go in mode "sleep"? I print every day!

Can I leave my printer connected 24-7?  Does go to sleep mode?  I do not see every day or week necessarily!

According to the manual (HP Envy 5540 all in a manual series) on page 22, it goes into powersave mode after 5 minutes of inactivity. You can change this time in the control panel if you wish.

After 2 hours of inactivity, the printer will automatically turn off, and you have to press the power button to restart. This auto off function is not active if the printer has wireless or WiFi Direct features turned on. Or if she has a fax, Ethernet, or USB connection. This info can be found on page 23 of the manual linked to the previous paragraph.

  • Tecra A11 - 113 - white screen and the cursor of the mouse during the boot

    Hello

My Toshiba Tecra A11-113 with win 7 32 bit boots with a mouse cursor and the visible white screen.
I tried to start under different boot options. Mode, safemode, last repair job configuration
and msdos command only... all these startup options give the same result.

I also tried with win 7 32 bit dvd, but same result.

I am able to access the C drive by booting with a linux key, so the data is visible.

Can someone please give me a solution?

    Thank you

What happens if you access the BIOS? Is menu visible on-screen BIOS?
Turn on the unit F2 button and press.
This should allow you to access the BIOS.

If you will be able to access the BIOS and see everything as usual, then the screen is OK and I think there is a problem with your installation of Windows System.
So boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk should help you solve this problem.

You said that you already tried to boot from the Windows DVD disc is this Toshiba Recovery disk? In my opinion, you use this disk to restore the laptop to factory settings.

  • Tecra A11 won't recover/restart of sleep

    Hi guys,.

    I have a TECRA A11 model no - PTSE1A - 00M 005.
It has Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and is up-to-date on all windows update.

When I click the power button and send it to sleep (power button / stop is set to sleep) or close the cover and he goes to sleep, I can't click the power button again and recover or restart from sleep. It doesn't do anything.
Power, power sector and battery plug lights up green but the hard drive does not start, or I do not see the hard drive Led light up.
I have to keep the power button for 5 seconds to stop the laptop, and then restart it.

In addition to this, I also have times when the computer is turned off correctly, but when I go to start it, it won't start. As usual the left 3 lights, but the hard drive light does not illuminate. The fan starts, but the computer will not start. I have to press the power button again for 5 seconds for the computer, close and then restart. The second time round it always starts.

This problem has me baffled for a while now and I can't find a solution for this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Since when did you notice this kind of behavior?

Try please set the BIOS to default settings and check the startup problem.

FN + F3 to put the laptop into sleep mode, close the cover and after a few minutes open the cover and press the power button. The same problem happens again?

  • Tecra A11 speed on the fan at 100% all the time

Hi, one of my colleagues has a new notebook Tecra A11. I've recently updated the bios to version 2.60 and since then the fan is constantly at full speed. Before the update it would be noticeable when the laptop has been widely used, but would slow down when idle. Anyone else seen/had this problem? I wouldn't mind flashing back to the old bios but can not see available on the web site of tosh.

    Thank you

    Hello

In your case, I recommend setting the BIOS to the default value.
You can do it in the BIOS. Insofar as I'm sure you could get press F9 default.
But the option is mentioned in BIOS to verify this.

In addition, I recommend changing the CPU and cooling module in Windows Power Options.

This should help to reduce the speed of the cooling fan.

  • Re: BIOS version 3.30 Tecra A11/M11: problems with Ubuntu systems?

I just got the updated BIOS version 3.30 on my Tecra A11/M11 invitation.
I'm still under Win7 now, but plan to add a dual boot with Ubuntu when the next LTS strikes in April.

Is anyone having problems with the new BIOS?
Should I upgrade or leave intact 3.20?

I don't find any evidence of trouble with 3,20.

Why upgrade BIOS if everything is OK?

In addition to as much as I know that Toshiba can't stand not the Linux operating system, and I doubt that the new BIOS would improve any Linux performance so, if you are satisfied with the version 3.20, stay with that

  • Tecra A11 - 11 H - drivers for Windows XP 64-bit

    Hello

is - anyone know where to find the driver for the wireless card of Tecra A11 - 11: using Windows XP 64 bit, does anyone have a complete list of the hardware models Tecra A11 - 11: using as toshiba support website is not driver for Windows XP 64-bit.

    Thank you very much

    Hey Buddy,

Windows XP 64-bit is not supported by Toshiba, there is no drivers for this OS. The 64-bit version of XP was not very popular then, probably, you will find all the drivers on external pages. If you want XP I recommend the 32-bit version or Windows 7 professional who has an XP virtualization mode.

Tecra A11 - 11: 00 a WLAN Intel card in order to check the Intel page directly. Maybe you can find a driver: [www.intel.com]

In addition, if you install a hardware such as Everest or PC Wizard 2011 diagnostic tool you can check the installed hardware and so you can search for drivers yourself.

But as I wrote already: choose another OS ;)

Open the computer, turn it on, follow the prompts, select the check box for 64 - bit, etc.. But present in control PANEL / SYSTEM AND SECURITY / SYSTEM as having a 32-bit operating system with 8 GB of RAM, RAM can be used WITH 2.98

Has no disks to reinstall from. No partition to leave. Listening to the phone Toshiba menu system, I can create Media Recovery disks from the computer, but if it happened once it happen? Tips on where to go from here please.

Still have access to the previous, Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium but also so can transfer all the data that it and start over.

You have created a set of recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator disks?

Make boot from disk 1, and then select 64-bit when prompted. See how it goes.

You can also update the BIOS because it is a new model.

  • Tecra A11 (PTSE1A - 00L 005) - Dual boot with XP and Windows 7

    Hello

Just bought a new Tecra A11 computer laptop running WIN7 Pro. Then downloaded and installΘ_ * virtual XP Pro * _ but not happy with the results that a lot of things he can do my other dual boot 17 "computer laptop with Vista/XP Pro will do.

    Background
There are 3 partitions on the HARD disk
    1. active primary recovery 1.46 GB (without drive letter)
    2. principal asset C: start 287 Gb
3 primary Partition 9.2 GB (no drive letter, the unknown application)

Can I partition the C: drive in sectors 2 X 145 GB and make the new partition _ * assets * _NTFS?

When I tried to install Xp Pro on another machine current Win7 partitioned as shown above, it 'blue preset' at the point of loading Xp using the RAID SATA CH8M-E charge via my USB FDD controller. Is it because this SATA driver is not current?

What is the correct SATA driver?

Does anyone know for sure that this machine will operate in dual boot Win7/Xp Pro?

    Any help much appreciated

    Peter

Yes, you can dual-boot two versions of Windows.

    What you do is:

Create recovery discs just in case something happens.
Retractable C: drive at half the size.
Create a new partition NTFS for XP.
Download the driver for the controller SATA F6 www.intel.com
Copy the SATA drivers on a floppy disk
Boot from your XP (must have SP2 or SP3 slipstreamed) disc, press F6 when you are prompted to use the SATA driver on the floppy drive (to avoid the BSOD 0x0000007B)
Configure the installation of XP to install on the partition that you created.

When you restart, XP may have taken over and ignore Win7.
In this case, you can restore the Win7 boot loader using EasyBCD (google is your friend)

If the BIOS has an option of SATA controller Mode, simply activate the IDE Mode instead of the SATA driver.

    Hey people,

I'm absolutely fed up with this, so I hope you can help me with this: Iam using a Tecra A11 with Express Port Replicator II. There are three problems:

1 USB mouse and USB keyboard are not ready to use so that until that Windows7 is fully loaded (BIOS Mode)

    2. There are USB devices such as USB-HDD, TV Tuner, telephone mobile-station host connected to the port replicator. Laptop remains in the Boot Logo screen and does not start until I have disconnect all devices. So I have to disconnect it, restart it and anchor it again. quite annoying.

    3. using the 64 bit version of WIndows 7 and playback sound stops regularly for 2-3 seconds when I use the speaker plug from the docking station. Using the plug in the laptop itself - no problem.

I am absolutely fed up with it. Anyone have any idea?

    Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

With regard to the problem of USB:
You have enabled USB legacy support in the BIOS? As far as I know, there is always such an option in the BIOS and it must be allowed, if you want to use USB devices before Windows starts.

And using his most recent drivers for your laptop? You can check it on the Web from Toshiba site if a newer version is available:
