Tecra A3 - 106 Intel Graphics memory Question (915GM)

Hello, no doubt this will be a strange question, but please accept my apologies, I can't understand it well...

I have a Toshiba Tecra A3 106 with 915GME 128 MB Intel graphics card... He used to appear as a memory of 128 MB on my system, and somehow, it is now limited to 64 MB probably after update my drivers or a change to the settings of this unit, somewhere...

I recently updated my bios to v.2.50, could this be the reason? or the most recent driver for the game? (I am currently on 6.14.10.4543)

I know that I must be blind I can't find the setting for this... But I need your help...

Thanks in advance...
Onur.

EDIT: I realized that it is a thing of BIOS 90%... Phoenix BIOS 2.50 does NOT contain an option to change the graphic committed memory size of 64 MB to 128 or vice versa... My previous BIOS was this option in the tab "Advanced"... And... I can't downgrade to the previous version as installer does not support the downgrade... PS: I checked the Windows settings this topic... Not found no apparent solution...

Edit2: Found this link about the question on the Toshiba site: http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1079 556xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 1150837 & stateId = 0% 200% 201 152026

Obviously, this is a bug in the BIOS and the source suggests that v1.70 and newer versions are fixed... I REALLY DON'T THINK!

ANY IDEAS TO GET AROUND THIS?

Hello Onur

The link you posted from TOSHIBA U.S. page and I assume that you have a European model of laptop. If you want to update BIOS please use Toshiba European page. The United States from Toshiba is like another firma and it isn't really the same thing.

If models of laptop computers in the United States some problem it doesn? t means that all Toshiba laptops have the same problem.

I checked that your model of laptop shared graphics memory card. I guess you know what that means and the fact is that units with Intel graphics card have no parameters where user can manually set the amount of memory must be used. On ATI graphics cards settings it is possible. I checked a few notebooks similar and in the Phoenix BIOS I didn? t find anything. Because of this, I'm really confused when you mean that this option was available on the ADVANCED tab.

I really hope that someone who have the same unit as you can give us a good info about it.

Good luck!

  • Intel Graphics questions?

On my task bar I got a red flag which shows the stakes, mine said 'Intel graphics driver has stopped working (1) time' which could cause this problem and how I could solve it. I click on it for a solution, but there are no results. What would cause for me to get a message indicating the graphic driver Intel has stopped working (1 time) and how can I solve this problem?

"It is not a true crash, in the sense that the blue screen was launched only because the combination of material and video driver video was to be insensitive and not because of any exception processing synchronous".

Since Vista, the components of "Timeout detection and recovery" (TDR) of the subsystem video OS have been able to do some really impressive things to try to find issues that would have led to the earlier OS like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends a video driver command "Please restart you now!" and wait a few seconds.

If there is no answer, the BONE concludes that the combo of driver/hardware video has really collapsed in a heap, and it fires at this stop 0 x 116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions did not help, make sure that the box is not overheated.

Try to remove a side panel and a fan of big sector directly to the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to check whether the cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it could be as simple as dust accumulation and inadequate cooling afterwards.

I download cpu - z and gpu - z (both free) and keep an eye on the video time

  • Acer Aspire V15 Nitro and Intel Graphics HD 5500 question

    Hi all:

I have a problem with my laptop (model VN7 - 571G). After a recent update of Windows 10, now I am not able to connect the laptop to my LG TV via HDMI. I think it's related to Intel Graphics 5500 (current driver 10.18.15.4248). When I connect the laptop to my flat TV, laptop screen goes black (as has happened before), but TV message says 'no connection '. If I try to use the 2.6.1.4 Intel driver update utility, he said I must go to the Acer site for drivers. I already uninstalled all Intel drivers (VGA, chipset, etc.) and installed the Acer site but the problem persists. No idea how to fix? Thank you and what is the Spain.

  • Qosmio F750 - how to change the graphics memory dedicated to 2 GB...

In order to get my Qosmio F750 ready to run some games, I've updated all the drivers on via the toshiba Web site and the NVIDIA site also the software downloading. This includes upgrading the BIOS to version 2.00.

According to the [laptop specifications given on the Toshiba site | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/qosmio/f750/pqf75a-02y00q/specifications].

I should have the following allocation of memory for the graphics:
"4095 MB Total: 2048 MB of memory dedicated + 2047 MB shared memory.

When I check the window Information on the performance and tools, I'm getting shows the following information:

    Graphics
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Display type card Intel(r) HD Graphics 3000
Total available graphics memory: 1 696 MB
    Dedicated graphics memory: 64 MB
    Dedicated system memory: 0 MB
    Shared system memory: 1632 MB
    Display adapter driver version: 9.18.13.1422
    The primary monitor resolution: 1366 x 768
    DirectX version: DirectX 10

Of course, when I look at the specifications of the laptop, I realize that the current graphic memory allocation matches the economy power Mode i.e. allocation of graphics when running on battery

Normally, it would be nice, however, I don't see any change in the displayed info even when I'm running on current alternative.
I checked all my power settings, but even when everything is set to "performance mode", the information displayed is the same.
I try to look in the system bios to change manually the graphical distribution but none this option doesn't exist. Rather all options are defined in performance mode...

So my final question is, * how can I change memory allocation performance mode graph as it is stated in the specifications of the system? *
Is this something that happens automatically without changing the displayed Info?
Is there a driver that I forgot to update? An update of the driver caused cela?
    A BIOS update caused this?

On a side note, the audit of the DirectX Diagnostic tool, I have the version of directx is displayed as version 11. So I thought that the problem was with the displayed information. But even on the Diagnostic tool gives me the same information.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this.

    Thank you
    Jean-Pierre

    Hello

This is controlled automatically by the graphics driver.
If the application that is running would require more RAM (IE game), the graphics card would control this value and I would add some of the memory to the memory of the graphics card.

  • Tecra A9 XP-Pro/Graphics display problem - 11 M

You just bought a Tecra A9 - 11 M running XP Pro. I can't go to Vista I use various industrial software packages that are not yet compatible. I have the following problems with graphic display:

    1. a lot of Web sites are not displayed correctly. Colored backgrounds etc often lack altiogether.
    2. when I compose an email in Outlook Express, the color of the text remains black no matter what color choose.
    3. when I type messages in Windows Live Messenger, the text appears in the color I chose that I type in, but then goes black after clicking the Enter key.
    4. when I use the graph editor in one of my industrial packages (Siemens Win - CC), if I try to change the color of an element to display the color palette appears empty as if it cannot display the colors.

Paint and Wordpad, both work correctly in terms of colors.

I use the default screen (1680 x 1050) and 32-bit color resolution. I tried different combinations of lower resolution and also change to 16-bit color, all to nothing will do. I tried to update the downloads of Toshiba display driver, but he sent the message that my pc does not have the minimum requirements for installation. Yet, everything works perfectly and there are tons of disk space and free ram. I also checked that mmy BIOS is the latest version. I am pleased with the machine in general, but at my wits end to know what to try next.

    > I tried to update the downloads of Toshiba display driver, but he sent the message that my pc does not have the minimum requirements for installation.

Are you sure you used the right graphics driver?
Have you used the download Toshiba pilot European page graphic driver FRO?

It seems it s an Intel graphics card and you must use an Intel graphics driver.

One question; the screen works properly without any installation of 3rd party applications?

If Yes, then it s a software problem caused by 3rd party programs.
The software is perhaps not fully compatible with the GPU from Intel or Intel shared graphics is not strong enough to manage the graphic editior

  • How can I get the graphics in the games on screen and Intel graphics card?

    Hello:

I recently got a Compaq Presario CQ57-339wm laptop PC.

It has Win 7 HP 64 bit installed.

I've updated the memory up to 8 GB.

Intel Celeron 1.5 gb CPU B800

    Intel HD graphics card.

And there the new Chipset HM65.

    My question is this.

While I know it will run that high end games.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get "FULL SCREEN GRAPH" when you play simple games like Empire Earth, Dungeon Lords, Solitaire, chess, build a Lot, etc.?

On a laptop with Intel Graphics awhile back I could go in the graphical control panel and select the stretch to the size of the screen option and he would give me full screen graphics.

    BUT!

When I go into the graphics Control Panel now, I don't see this option.

    What gives?

I do not expect to run high-end graphics, but fucking hell, I should at least be able to enjoy full-screen display size of 1366 x 768 instead of graphic image format.

    I would appreciate any help...

    Hi again:

As I had not had a response to my question, I thought that I better go and to fend for myself.

So I went on a search engine Bing to find a solution to my problem and I did...  Admittedly simple so I thought for those who may have the same problem I would my Solutrion that I found so here you are.

    Intel full screen game Fix.

To set the Intel scaling of Glitch.

#1. Right-click on the desktop and choose screen resolution.   And change the resolution to 1024 x 768.

#2. GoTo Control Panel, click on Intel Graphics & Media. Scale option will now be avalible, select Stretch to full screen and save.

#3. Once again right click on the desktop. And change your resolution to the Native resolution, click on I accept... You should now be set for full screen graphics in games.

  • Satellite A200 - how to increase the graphics memory?

    Hi, another question.

I am unsing an A200-1CC, it's an Intel 945 Express Chipset Family settled. I tried to install a game that requires memory graph 256Motets. I received an error message "Shadow Pixel 1.1" maybe not supproted... and the page the maanufactured FAQ told me be sure to habe 256 MB in use.

The A200-1CC has a 1024 MB of RAM and uses only a little over 100 MB memory graphics. I have check the Intel web page. My 945 Chipset supports Pixel of the shadow; and memory maximum grpahics used in 256 MB. So I increased my mother-2048 MB memory card today. However; It shows still 122 MB graphics memory in use. Page intel says that sometimes you can adjust the DMTV in bios, but that does not apply to my system.

Any chance to get used to 256 MB graphics memory? -I use a Vista system...?

Thanks in advance for any idea you may have.

    ;-) Ingo

    Hello!

No, you can increase the video RAM and there is no option to change this.
The video RAM will be assigned automatically, but you can t change that.

I know this good news of aren t but in my opinion the Intel graphic card is not designed for games. An nVidia or ATI card graphics would be a better solution for the game.

    Good bye

    Hi Aditya,

Thanks for joining us out on Microsoft Community Forums.

As you are interested to learn more about the increase in the memory of the dedicated graphics card, I advise you to buy an external graphics card. You can do this by contacting the manufacturer of the computer or the store local tech.

I would also say to update you Direct X 10 for direct X 11 and check if it helps.

I hope it helps. If you have any questions about Windows in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

  • T500 Intel Graphics Anomalies with a side of BlueTooth

    Greetings,

I have my system set up to use the graphics card Intel integrated (internal value in the bios to save energy) and I following graphics problems.  I use the latest version of bios and driver of Lenovo, display provided by ThinkVantage System Update.  Details of the pilots are in below directx Diagnostics.  I tried to install the latest Intel graphics driver of site Web of Intel for this chipset, but it says my system is not supported (maybe something to do with ATI Hybrid graphics card).

This does not work in OpenSUSE 11.2 (even with the Gnome 3D desktop), but it does in Windows x 64 with Aero.  It occurs usually after watching the SlingBox or an instant view of NetFlix, but it occurred in the past without these activities.

It did not appear when using the ATI graphics card (dedicated in bios set), at least of the limited amount that I did use.

    Model: 20828zu

Diagnosis of DirectX (full system / card driver):

    http://home.Comcast.NET/~quako33/Misc/Dxdiag.txt

    Screenshots of the problem:

    http://home.Comcast.NET/~quako33/images/gpu_problem1.PNG

    http://home.Comcast.NET/~quako33/images/gpu_problem3.PNG

Any ideas on how to solve this problem without having to switch to the ATI graphics card will be appreciated.

Finally... the question bluetooth... sequences of keys to turn off only the bluetooth?  When I hit fn + f5, it disables the wifi and bluetooth.  A way to disable in OpenSUSE 11.2 Gnome (as I can in Windows) would achieve the same goal.

    Thank you

This is a bug in the drivers. If you have 2 + 1 or 2 + 4 GB memory RAM, what will happen. Have you tried to disable Aero? This could help. What I understand the only way to solve this problem is to buy another 2 GB module (2 + 2 GB), or wait that a new graphics driver is released.

    What about the Bluetooth.

Make sure you have installed Lenovo Hotkey (if you've run Lenovo system update you probably installed).

Navigate to "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY" and open "TpFnF5.exe" and click on the 'Fn + F5 settings' button.

I confess that I have really not had you the Fn + F5 problems in Windows or OpenSUSE, but the behavior of Fn + F5 on Ubuntu 9.10 is:

Toggle WIFI/BT/OFF (Fn + F5 press once: Wlan BT off / press and second time: BT off, Wlan marche/troisieme time: BT on off Wlan / press and once: BT and WiFi on)

If this is of any help to you.

  • How can I set on Satellite M70 - 394 to 128 MB graphics memory?

How can I change the graphics memory from 8 MB to 128 MB? I have tired to adjust it by the BIOS but cannot find it there!

As far as I know on laptops with Intel (shared memory) graphics card, it is not possible. It is controlled automatically. For more graphics memory, you must use more RAM.

  • Dedicated graphics memory

    Hello

My current dedicated graphic memory is only 512 MB and it barely meets the requirement of minnimum for most games. After reviewing a few videos online I did this can be changed throgh the BIOS of the system but it is simply not that option in my current version of the BIOS (I have already installed the update to the newest BIOS).

So, this brings me to my question. Is there a way (maybe a program or something of the sort) to increase the graphics memmory dedicated or am I stuck with this amount?

(My laptop model: HP Pavilion dv6-6b47dx)

    Thank you!

I never heard of anyone being able to change memory allocation of graphics by any means.

If you want to try different things, go ahead and let us know if something works, because hundreds of people have this question and hundreds were disappointed.

If you want to replace the motherboard to support one listed in the service manual for your model, if any, which may have better graphics, it would be your only option.

I would like to buy a new laptop before going this route.

  • Satellite E105 - Allocation of graphics memory

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402. I recently bought Starcraft 2 and my laptop has almost always slows down the game. I guess that's a problem graphic since everything else on the laptop exceeds the minimum requirements. I thought to increase memory dedicated to graphics card but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help?

I discovered that, by right-clicking on the desktop (Vista OS) > personalization > display properties > advanced settings, I see the following:

128 MB dedicated video memory. I guess that's the figure I must increase, but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help.

    Kind regards
    Jarlaxle

    Hello

According to specification for laptop, your laptop has Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with 128 MB - 1342 MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory. This cards don t have some sort of control of memory where laptop user can set how much memory will be used for graphical operations.

If you want to offer more memory for the graphics, you need to upgrade RAM but I think that 4 GB of RAM you should have now is maximum RAM that can be used on your model of laptop.

    Hello Filipe

It will be interesting to know what you mean under punishing work of Office 2007.

In any case AFAIK on Intel (shared memory) graphics card it is not possible to fix the graphics memory to a specific value (no BIOS settings and also no matter what setting in advanced display settings). If you want to use more RAM for the graphics I recommend you to upgrade RAM.
