    Hello!

When I try to activate your hard drive write cache, it does not work:
I can check the box and press OK, but when I go back to the dialog box the box is unchecked.
The event log shows a warning: "the driver disabled the write on the device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 cache.

This slows down my laptop. I don't want to work without the write cache.
    What can I do?

    Greetings,
    Christian

    Hello

did restart you your machine after checking the box? Usually, you must first reboot the system when certain changes.
On the other side, you know this microsoft article? You should read:

This could probably explain why windows leaves the box unchecked...

I got a new motherboard under the vices, but now the ethernet does not (rj45).  I tried several drivers of other work say but it isn't on mine.

Included are version 8/20, 9/21 and 1/24 (dates or latest codes) everything has been loaded at the front desk.

I have the icon and when the cable is unplugged shows red X, which disappears when reconnected.

Anyone have an idea when else I can do?

I can't understand how a company like HP sends a non-working back unit after repair.

If you had any driver installed for Ethernet before installing what I gave you...

Then uninstall them all and also this driver which I gave you.

Restart the system and reinstall this driver from me.

  • Keyboard does not work under Vista on Satellite L300D

    Dear readers,

I have a Satelite L300D with Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium. It is about 5 months and so far I have not had problems.

Today, I started the book and noticed that I was not able to type my password for Windows.
I thought, there must be a problem with the keyboard and restarted the laptop.
I tried to enter the Bios and I wonderd, keyboard worked as expected it. Back to Vista, the keyboard does not work yet.

I rebooted again and activated Capslock befor the Windowsstartup and looked at the LED.
Just after the appearance of the Windowslogo, Capslock off a keyboard was dead.
So I thougt it must be a driver error. I deleted the two driver files Hardware-Director told me where the drivers keyboard, rebooted twice a keyboard had returned to work, but only until the next reboot.

So I decided to make the recovery of HARD drive and reinstall Windows, thinking, this should fix the problem.

    But it's still there.

Is there someone who could help me? If this is an error of the driver, is should have disappeared when the laptop is in a State of delivery, right?

I would be very happy for any advice or help

    Greetings from Berlin

    Thomas

PS: I want to say sorry for my bad English... :-)

    Hey mate

    > It's about 5 months and until now I didn't have problems.

I wonder why this keyboard problem happened after 5 months of use?  :|
This means that this keyboard worked fine using the Vista and the Toshiba Recovery disk operating system but recently stopped working if the Microsoft OS is running.

In my eyes it s a hardware issue ok, it s really strange that you can use it in the BIOS and the Linux system. But I recommend to contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country and ask if the technician could test with the new keyboard.

I think that your warranty is valid and therefore everything must be covered by the warranty!

    Good luck

  • Windows Update does not work under Vista

Hello! I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit and a few weeks ago, I noticed that my windows updates had stopped working. I followed the instructions to do a repair of my drive, but got "the upgrade is not available. Press Cancel and then select upgrade to a newer version than what you have "." However, there is nothing that gives me this opportunity. How am I supposed to fix it then?

I have a feeling that this happened after a service pack has been installed (3?), but as I put it to the automatic updates I have not noticed exactly when he had ceased. I'm frustrated and very frankly also irritated. I paid a fair bit for Vista Ultimate and I'm basically says my drive is useless. I ran the Microsoft Fix It, and he said he solved the problem, but it didn't. I also did a system restore and that do not also not fixed the problem. The error code I get whenever I have try to do an update is 80070490. I saw a lot of messages from people having this same problem, while searching for a solution, so there's obviously a problem somewhere I would appreciate to help get it sorted please.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Sharon

  • CD/DVD does not work under Vista

I have a laptop Compaq Presario F700 under Windows Vista Home Premium.  For the first year and a half i have owned my laptop, my CD/DVD drive worked perfectly.  A month ago it has stopped working completely.  It does not appear in my computer or Device Manager and it does not open.  I don't think that the drive is defective because it will open when the first Compaq screen shows up, but when the Microsoft Corporation loading screen is up, it stops working.  I used Google to good use, but none of the solutions I found worked.  I tried to delete upper and lower filters but they aren't there, and I tried all the solutions Microsoft Fix - It nothing works.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Hello

Reader might indeed have gone wrong.

Check with support from Compaq and their forums for known problems.

    Compaq - Support
    http://www.Compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html

    Compaq (HP) - Fourms
    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/PSG/

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

  • Satellite A200-1AX: many applications does not work under Vista

    Greetings,

I bought A200 1AX a few days ago and I'm not having a good experience with regard to the installation of applications on this Vista box. Even install yahoo messenger did not work and produces the NSIS error. 3D max 9 installation does not work (even though some have managed to operate); Install Adobe CS3 (supposed to be for Vista) did not entirely - the photopshop component have not installed, etc.

The bottom line, I plan to move to XP OS. Means the required BIOS update I have my Vista recovery CD will NOT work after the switch to XP?

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Best regards, Ashraf.

Unfortunately I put t know how to help you.
Usually, if the 3rd party applications are designed and support the Vista while there should be no problem with unique program facilities.

Check if all software packages are completely cared for and compatible with Vista.

    > The necessary BIOS update means that I have my Vista recovery CD will NOT work after the switch to XP?

No, after the update the BIOS of XP, you will still be able to use the Vista CD from recovery, but perhaps some functions such as the FN keys will not work.

Assuming that your laptop was manufactured after 2003, you can try the HP drive diagnostic tool, but it seems that if you have a more serious hardware problem: cable/connector from the hard drive is faulty or the on the motherboard disk controller has failed.
