Tecra A8 - Touchpad problem

Hello Forum,

I use a Tecra A8 model, 2 GB memory, XP SP2. Since a few weeks I have the following problem:

(1) if I move my finger across the touchpad (fast or slow), the cursor remains on the position, if--if I'm not touching the touchpad.

After 1-2 seconds the cursor Duke, I've hit the touchpad and works normal (moves as I move my finger).

(2) if I touch the touchpad with my finger only, not to move the cursor makes little jumps and movements, very, very slow (I think that 1 mm in 3 seconds) to the top, left corner of the screen.

My Questions:
What kind of error is it?

Anyone of you advice or recommendations?

Best regards

Peter

To be honest, it is not some sort of error. I have older Tecra M1 and something like that happen to me. Even on new laptops can happen that the mouse pointer move slowly without reason. If you touch mouse even once, it will be stops and you can use the mouse again.

I don't know how you're using your laptop, but if you use it on the desktop, the best thing you can do is to use an external mouse and completely disable an internal. After doing that the mouse pointer must be stilly.

I have a laptop Satellite P300-1 year and from the beginning (two weeks)
I have a touchpad problem: it will not immediately responsive and the pointer shakes when pressing the key. Very often, it freezes for only one or two seconds.

It's VERY annoying. A USB mouse works perfectly.
I tried to reinstall the drivers of the ALPS, tried Synaptics ones, just try Windows Vista drivers: no way.

Now, I found the reason: this question is present only when the laptop is powered by the AC adapter / CC.
With the battery, the touchpad is perfect.

I contacted Toshiba Service and thay said that they do not change the AC adapter if I don't mean before a full system restore!
Is it not more simple just try with a new adapter and then only, if the problem persists, try more drastic procedures?

    Anyone had this same problem?

The point is that your laptop should be always verified using the Toshiba factory setting.
Why? Because the ASP wants to make sure that this issue is not related to a software problem (compatibility problems with applications 3rd part). Software problems are not covered by the warranty.

In addition the ASP will always recover the laptop before the verification of the pieces of equipment to malfunction. Therefore, you should always back up your data from the HARD disk until you send the laptop to check.

I recommend you to reinstall the operating system using the Toshiba recover disc and then check if the problem appears.
If yes you can contact ASP and could provide all the necessary details for only one technician.

    Good bye

  • Tecra A11 - 17G - buttons on touchpad problem

    Hello

I had already put the touchpad and its 2 buttons to act conservatively on Windows XP. (click without typing or other extended functions)

Suddenly he was mentally ill and I can't reconfigure the device. The mouse behaves strangely only clicking and scrolling is done unintentionally...

    What can I please?

    Thank you!
    Kind regards.

    What you can do?

Try to remove the touchpad driver (Control Panel > programs and features), restart your computer, and reinstall the driver from the touchpad.
You can find it on the download page of Toshiba - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Tecra A11 Touchpad Windows 10 questions

After upgrading my Tecra A11-182 (PTSE0E-0LP046GR) for Windows 10, I have problems with the touchpad. The cursor jumps from time to time in other places on the desktop, as in Word 2010. Y at - it a new version of the driver for this device? The Windows Device Manager indicates that the most recent driver is installed. Thank you for your suggestions

    Achim

The cursor jumps because your palm makes contact with the touchpad while you type.

The advanced settings of Touchpad has an option called "Disable tapping" or «Disable the Touchpad when typing»
If you do not have these settings, you must update the driver for the Touchpad (Synaptics or Alps) that is compatible with Windows 10.

I have some problems with the external mouse on my tecra A2. The pointer seem to 'jump', sometimes across the screen, and it's pretty boring. I'm not sure of what the cause of the problem and still less what to do about it... The mouse is a Logitech optical mouse. I tried to change to a similar mouse but that did not help...

    Hello

Try disabling the touchpad through FN + F9. Did you try it with mouse just wireless? You can try it with the mouse that is connected with a cable?

Sometimes I have the same problem, but it happens if the batteries are empty or if the mouse signal receiver is placed on the wrong place.

    Hello

I noticed a few intermissions of touchpad on my laptop while the CPU runs at 100% with a maximum return.
Maybe this could be a reason for interruptions of unique touchpad.

In other cases, the touchpad hardware malfunction perhaps. One of my friends noticed a very strange behavior of touchpad on his notebook.
The touchpad has run out of control and the courier jumped from one side to the other.

In this case the equipment must be checked and replaced if necessary.

    Hello

    First install common Modules!
Then, you need to install Touch Pad Driver, and then dual pointing device

But the common Modules should and must be installed as the first application.

  • Satellite U400 - 150 (PSU45E) - ALPS touchpad problem

    Hello

I am trying to solve some problems with the touchpad. My PSU45E Toshiba U400-150 was fitted in ALPS touchpad (synaptics, which is much better from day instead).

Previously I worked on another laptop to factory with Synaptics and software that he had advanced options, better than the ALPS.

    1. when I use ALPS driver that the coursor movement seems to be "nervous", do not help the traffic regulations. So I uninstalled the driver ALPS, Synaptisc and the movement has been widely. However, the Synaptics software had any advanced options (such as the areas of contact, scroll, etc.). So I restored the ALPS driver, once again, and returned "jumpy" movement. I assume that the driver is not as good as synaptics.

2 I need in fact for the middle button emulation. In synaptisc, there was this option in the "contact areas". I was using the upper right corner for the emulation of the middle button of the mouse. I was looking for such an option in the ALPS driver, but there is none.

I woud be gratefull for any sollutions, suggestions about the issue 1 and 2. Is it possible to emulate the middle button of the mouse in the ALPS?

    TIA.

I have a touchpad Alps on my Tecra and its very good, so maybe you just need to update the driver Alps?

  • Split x 2, touchpad problem

The Split X 2 HP with processor i5 and WIndows 8.1

I bought a x 2 split this last November and I had a problem of re-occurred since I got it. During use, the mouse will often freeze and my touchpad does not work. Can you please tell me how to fix this? I am a student engineer and I need my computer works fine for my work. Thank you

    Hello

I recently used a Split 13D x 2 that has the same problem and the next seems to correct the problem.

Open windows control panel and open the Device Manager.  Expand "Controllers of Bus USB" and you should find 2 entries for "Generic USB Hub".  Right-click on that 1 and select Properties, then select the tab power management and Remove the tick in the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".  Click Ok to save the setting.

Do the same for the 2nd "USB hub generic.

    Once completed, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

  • Tecra S11 touchpad hardware replacement

    Hello

How can I know * what is the number of exact part of my touchpad on my Tecra S11 *-11 H? PTSE3E-XXXXXXX

It is a little slow, he is sometimes slow to react. I've already implemented in the extended in the mouse settings option.

where can I buy a new one?

In my opinion if you want to get any compatible part for all Toshiba laptops, you should contact Toshiba service provider authorized in your country.

ASP is able to supply all the parts of the laptop. Even if the part is not available, they are able to order the essential part of the Toshiba s doll.

  • Satellite Z30 - A - 1 d 0: No. Wlan after fashion 'sleep' / touchpad problem

    Hello!

I bought this laptop in early September and I am super happy with it, but there are two little things that annoy me and I was not able to fix yet:

    (1) exit standby or sleep mode, it is re - connect never automatically for the wireless on it's, I have to do it manually every time. Windows wireless works well, so this isn't it, but what is?

    (2) sometimes the touchpad will stop working randomly and I have to use a mouse or restart to fix it. I reinstalled the drivers for the touchpad. Turning the touchpad/disable using function keys does not resolve the problem.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 pilot was published on the Intel page, and looks like this driver is more recent than the one provided in the Toshiba page.

Here you can get the latest version of the driver:

  • Satellite L505-13W - FN keys were not and touchpad problem

    Hello everyone,

I have two questions and I'd highly appreciate your help.

First, when I got the laptop he used to have a Fn bar that comes down from the top of the screen when I press the Fn, it shows all the keys Fn, now it disappeared. I need to get it back, I almost tried everything and nothing is there yet.

Second, the touchpad is a zoom no more when I apply the 2 fingers in and out, he used to do that before.

    My laptop is Satellite L505-13W

    Thanks in advance

    Hi abdouni,.

    1. I think that the problem is related to Toshiba Value added Package, and Flash Cards Support utility. These two tools control FN keys and cards Flash appears if you press the FN key.
You can download it from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Regarding the installation: first remove these two tools and reboot the laptop. Now, install the package of added value and stop and start again. Install the Flash Cards Support utility and do a restart. Now, the FN keys should work again.

    2. it could be related to value added package too to check my ad.
If it s does not work, reinstall the driver for the touchpad.

  • Satellite T110-107: touchpad problem - pointer move sometimes

    Good afternoon everyone,

Currently I have a series of Satellite T110-107 and have problems with the touchpad.

I start the computer and the touchpad works very well for a few seconds, after that, the touch pad stops working to full capacity.
If I wander my fingers on the touchpad and the pointer does not move, sometimes it will move up and down, but not as it should.

It is a common problem, or is it a hardware problem... or is it the fact that I'm just not accustomed to having the correct settings on windows7?

All help reveal be great, because it's very frustrating!

    Kind regards!

    Hello

I found a few tips and tricks that you should try.

First, you must change the sensitive touchpad settings to lower the level.
Go to control panel-> mouse and all the settings for the touchpad to the value has a less sensitive level.

You should also right click Synaptics Pointing Device (in the taskbar) and get in the middle of the page Double click speed on.
Move the slider to half way down the beach. This should help you too.

Last but not leas, you will need to disable zoom pinch.
Go to the icon in the lower right corner Synaptics pointing device, click on 'The pointing device properties', click on the "Device settings" tab, then the settings button. Uncheck "Enable Pinch Zoom" under "Pinch Zoom".

    Greetings
