Tecra M5 compatible keyboards

My keyboard has a couple of dead keys, so I need to get a new keyboard.

I would have preferred a using the Del and Ins near the space bar (as in Satellite 9100 machines or some).
* Are all the keyboards of the shape and the same physical size as the standard M5 compatible with it (probably need new mapping of the keyboard)?
* Where can I find a list of compatible keyboards?
and all the other useful tips would be much appreciated

  • Tecra 540 CDT: keyboard does not work properly

    Hi people

    Just bought a 540cdt Tecra second hand and the keyboard is a bit strange - A key does not work and some of the keys seem to make things weird-UPDATE prints an exclamation mark and key END operates caps lock etc. I don't know if it's a keyboard of knakckered or whether the same strange keyboard configuration has been made. If it's a flat keyboard will install a replacement to solve the problem?

    Also, is it possible to replace the CD drive with a DVD - ROM drive. From the looks of it all DVD players I have met seem to be model specific.

    See you soon

    Peter

    Hello

    Maybe your operating system has keyboard settings wrong country.
    Check in the control panel settings. But for me, it looks more like a keyboard or a keyboard controller failure.
    Perhaps also loses the keyboard cable.
    I don't know if only a new keyboard will solve the problem. I think the detailed diagnostic test is necessary.
    If you want to upgrade your laptop with DVD drive, please check first if it is taken in charge and compatible. If you install the disc is not compatible, then you will get an IDE error and the BIOS does not recognize the drive.

    After the failure of my Tecra M4, I bought Toshiba Portege M400. They batteries are the same.
    How compatible are adapters for machines?

    If they are compatible, for example can use one at work and one at home?

    You can use them for both machines as the adapters have almost the same current. In your case, you can instantiate your idea with the help at work and another at home.
    I have 3 adapters that have classes 5A and I can drive almost all of my toshiba´s who need 15 v input voltage.

    You can also check current glancing at the bottom of the machine on this small silver sticker. Then, you can be absolutely sure.

  • Tecra A8: external keyboard connected to the serial port: the necessary specific configurations?

    Hello
    I want to share a monitor and an external keyboard with Tecra A8 and a desktop computer. To do this, I bought a switch 2-port Linksys where I plugged the external monitor and a keyboard. With the monitor without problem because there is a specific port for this. However my Tecra has only 3 USB ports and a serial port 6-pin where I connected (with a 6-pin Mini DIN adapter) on the keyboard. When I turn on the screen it's ok, but the keyboard (I also tried a mouse) does not work. Do I need a specific configuration on the serial port to accept the external keyboard? If so, what commands do I need on the XP operating system?
    Thank you
    Luis

    RGB (monitor) port used to connect the external monitor.
    If you want to connect the external keyboard, you have to use the USB ports.
    Additional legacy USB emulation must be enabled for the keyboard.
    These settings you can change in the Toshiba HWSetup under control panel.

    If you connect multiple devices to the switch USB (hub) Please be sure that the USB hub using external power.
    A low power USB could be a reason for the external USB device failure.

  • Tecra 9100 + external keyboard

    Hello
    I have a problem with a Tecra 9100. I want to use with a docking station and external mouse & keyboard.
    The keyboard does not work, if I put it in the docking station, but the mouse is not serious.
    I've changed some options in the bios, the keyboard works... after reboot it does not.
    so I always have to go into bios, first of all, if I want to use the keyboard. But strangely, that I don't change something in biso, just the join and the left, that works for keyboard.

    Get an idea what I could do?

    Hi paul

    It is very interesting. Can you please explain what needs to be changed in the BIOS settings?

  • Tecra M5-compatible Port Replicator of Tecra 9100 is?

    I have a port replicator (model PA3082E-1PRP) for my old 3 years Tecra 9100 defective. I'll buy a Tecra M5. Do I need to get a new Port for the M5 Replicator or my old one is compatible with the new computer?

    Hello

    I think that it should be compatible.
    But on the Toshiba options and accessories site I found that these devices with M5 supported:
    Advanced Port Replicator III PA3314E-1PRP
    III Advanced Port Replicator more PA3474E-1PRP
    USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (Ethernet / EU Version) PX1173E-1PRP
    USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (Ethernet / UK Version) PX1173U-1PRP

    To my knowledge, these are the most recent port replicators which are available may be so old appliances are not listed.
    I think you could try carefully connect the laptop with your old port replicator.

    Hi, one of my users reports a very unusual problem with its Tecra M2. The keyboard seems to work only if you press a vowel key and the display shows then this vowel, but with an accent above it. For example, when you press "A" key, a is produced, if you press any other letter there is nothing displayed on screen. Any ideas what this might be caused by?

    First click on the language tab, and select the details option in text services and input languages
    Second under default input language, select the keyboard language.

    In this case it will be shown the same symbols as seen at the keyboard. Maybe it's a s solution.

  • Make a keyboard WebWorks BB10 compatible applications for Q10

    Hello

    Asked me to wear a WebWorks application originally designed for the Z10 to the Q10.

    One of the requirements is to make the application compatible keyboard.

    What they mean by that, is that, in the application, a user is presented with a series of options on the screen; A, B, C, D.

    On the Z10, they can only use the touchscreen, but they want users on a Q10 to keypress A, B, C or D and who trigger this selection as option.

    Is this available in th WebWorks API?

    Yes, you can do it with event listeners and the keypress or keydown events.

    When a user presses keyboard events, these events are triggered, and then you can map them to appropriate the JavaScript functionality.

    Here is an example that illustrates the main events:

    http://BlackBerry.github.IO/WebWorks-samples/kitchenSink/HTML/browser/KEYEVENTS.html

    Here is a code snippet that should help you to solve your problem:

    window.addEventListener("load", function(ee) {

       document.addEventListener("keydown", function(e) {
          var theChar = String.fromCharCode(e.keyCode);

          switch(theChar) {

             case "a":
                alert("a");
                break;

             case "b":
                alert("b")
                break;
             default:
                alert("unsupported char : " + theChar)
          }

       },  false);

    }, false);
