Tecra M7: Problem with graphics.

I have a problem recently with my Tecra M7.

I have unwanted points and lines on the screen and also sometimes the screen is blank or vision pauses for several seconds.
After my experience with desktop computers, I thought it should be the GPU, but I have no idea how Nvidia NVS Quattro works.

I recently installed a new Windows XP Tablet to check if a problem with the software, I have also installed the latest gpu drivers of the site so I don't know that this is not a software problem.

This may happen the other thing that GPU? Is it possible to replace the GPU if there a problem?
I bought my laptop on Nov 2006, so almost 2 years, how many years is the warranty period for the gpu to the United Kingdom?

Connect the external monitor to your laptop and see if the problem still occurs. If Yes, I'm afraid there is problem with the graphics card. Unfortunately the graphics card can be exchanged separately. The entire motherboard must be exchanged.

    I understand that you have installed the driver and it works fine.  When you checked the diagnostics you became confused because it says graphic R5 but you R7.

    According to the specifications of your laptop you have AMD Quad - Core A8 - 6410 APU with graphics Radeon R5 (2 GHz, 2 MB cache).

    You can disable the GPU manually by changing the preferences file to LR with a text editor such as notepad and change the line useAutoBahn = true to useAutoBahn = false.  You do not want to do with LR does not.

    I have a problem with a Toshiba Tecra A3 combined with a Port Replikator III. Both work very well together until you disconnect the laptop computer. After you start the Toshiba Tecra A3 without the Docking Station, everything is always ok. But when I anchor again and start it, Win XP is not able to display the logon session on the external monitor screen. All configurations, I did (for example only display on external monitor) with the mobile extension module are only available after login. But when I don't see the logon screen, I can't do that; (o). so, does anyone have a solution how can I use the external screen after the boot (without using the FN + F5) key.

    As far as I know logon window can be displayed on the primary monitor only. Computers laptop LCD is set to a primary, and it cannot be changed. As you can see this option is grayed out in display properties.

  • Tecra S5 - problem with windows startup

    2 days ago I installed windows 7 on my laptop, my old windows vista with a clear system in shape and I installed the display drivers for windows 7 on the official website of toshiba.

    It worked fine for a day, and then suddenly I got a message saying that the graphics driver has stopped working and the computer crashed.

    After the restart during the windows loading screen shows only blue lines and nothing more happens, he starts not or anything like that.     I'm afraid this could be a serious hardware problem m.
    To me, this looks like a GPU (graphics chip) problem.
    That would explain the lines on the screen and the problems with the installation of the system.

    It would be the worst case. Defective graphics chip cannot be replaced because it s soldered on the motherboard.

So I know that when I bought my laptop it has an AMD HD 3450 graphics card but in dx diag, it shows that I hava a Mobile Intel (r) 4 Series Express Chipset Family and I don't know why. With the printer connected to a USB port on the Port Replicator, I have to wait 2 minutes for printing to start.     Seems like a strange question... Already done the standard procedure in the event of such errors? :)

    The standard procedure is somehow similar to the following:

    -Update your BIOS
    -Update all the drivers for your machine
    -Update your printer drivers
    -Update your operating system

    If all else fails, then try an another Portrep if available, maybe you need to contact your dealer for an another portrep for the test.

    Something like this should be your way. And then you sucessfully made a TROUBLESHOOTIN´ ;)

    A few moments ago I flashed the BIOS on my Tecra S2. Now, my current BIOS version is 2.80. Unfortunately no, I had problems with booting of Linux Live CD like Knoppix or Kanotix. The freezing of the startup process, when the PCMCIA module is tried bo be started.
    What I want to do now is to downgrade my version of BIOS. Is anyone know how it works, and someone has an older version of BIOS of 2005? I couldn't find any older versions on the Toshiba support sites.

    You re right. On the Toshiba page you will find only the latest version of the BIOS and the older versions are not available on the page.
    In my opinion if you want to downgrade the BIOS question using the service provider authorized in your country.

    Uninstall the driver nvidia of your system (maybe it would be good to use the program 'DriverCleaner'-> www.drivercleaner.net), go to these sites

    Choose your display driver (and Don t say you do not, the drivers work, I have a Sat A100 with Vista and it works :)))

    I recently had a problem with my computer that I solved it by using a recovery disk to do a clean install of windows.  When I was running, I noticed that when I right click on the desktop I no longer get the switchable graphics configuration option.

    I started by redownloading from the site Web of AMD catalyst control center.  For some reason any installing this forced my resolution of 800 x 600 instead of 1366 x 768.  I drove back on two graphics cards drivers and that fixed my resolution.  I went to the HP website and updated all drivers related to graphics cards.  However, the CCC gave an error message saying that it detects all the drivers AMD.  At this point, I uninstalled CCC and other AMD software on the system, and I'm a little stuck.

    I can't download CCC again because it seems to mess up the resolution, but it seems to me to need to change graphics cards.

    I understand that you are not able to re - install the CCC that there is a problem with the resolution with its installation, and I'd be happy to help you!

    To re - install correctly CCC, I recommend to delete the entire AMD driver on your computer and re - install. To do this, remove the software from programs and features.

    Once the driver is then deleted, please remove the driver from Device Manager by following this document on Uninstall or reinstall a device. This should help to re - install your CCC program to your laptop.

    In addition, I also suggest to use the re HP Recovery Manager - install the supplied with your laptop original drivers. This can done by following this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7).

    Hello. I recently had some problems with my graphics card. One day when I booted up my laptop, I had a strange bsod pointing out the error nvddlmkm.sys. I didn't know what she was related to, so I started in safe mode with network and searched the net for it and found out it was a nvidia file. So I decided to uninstall my drivers and see if its gona work. Windows start to success and it s own drivers (driver vga) standard. I downloaded the latest nvidia driver of they re web site and installed and got the same error. I tried it uninstall in safe mode and removing with driver Sweeper, but who also had no effect. So I decided to download the drivers of my manufacturers Web site. Ive installed them and after the reboot and the windows load bar that a black screen appeared. The laptop was still on, but the screen was black. Ive waited nearly 10 minutes, but nothing happened. After removing the recently installed driver my laptop booted up normally. I don't know what are the causes of the problem, I even made a new installation of windows, but nothing helped. I hope you can solve my problem. The problem started occurring when I had some problems with my pc and had to reinstall windows. I've done everything corectly installed the most recent drivers etc.etc... It worked fine until.     Is that your graphics card does not support the game without name or the video chip on the motherboard has failed. Contact HP technical support for the latter. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

    Hello, I have the same graphics card, here's so what you right click anywhere on the desktop and select Configure switchable graphics starts an application then you must find the game or app you used to it using the graphics card Radeon and select High Performance, if the game or app dosent you usually run in the show high performance you can click on browse your computer until you find the game and then select and the value it is running on high performance, do NOT forget TO click APPLY, once's done it, you will need to right click and click on (graphics properties...) DO NOT click graphic properties, an application will run find graphic called Intel HD power save the configuration to the Intel HD application and select High Performance. Good finally got to where your battery icon is on your taskbar and select high performance, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PORTABLE BRANCH IN addition to THE AC CHARGER for MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE.
