Tecra T9100, XP, Stand By does not work

I have a Tecra 9100 with XP pro.
When I click "Turn off computer", I get a pop-up with 3 buttons: Stand By, shut down, restart
The "Stand By" button is gray (disabled)
So far:
I checked the Control Panel, Power Options
I updated the BIOS from 1.3 to 1.6
According to a post in this forum:
"Try to reinstall the Toshiba Power saver.
I'm not sure if it will help, but this software from Toshiba is responsible for hibernation mode and standby to 100%. »

Then, I installed the 'save energy', but had to first install the "common module.
Still no result

Hint please?

Hi Raymond

The Toshiba power saver is responsible for the standby and hibernation mode.
But if you have installed this software properly, then you must use the FN + F3 key combination to go to stand-by mode. The hibernation mode will be with FN + F4.
I put t know if you installed your OS manually or with the recovery CD, but after installation with the recovery CD Toshiba all options should work correctly.

  • Tecra 9000: SD card reader does not work with XP

I've made some progress on this issue, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQS, although the main problem is that FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF memory address is shared by the SD card controller and device memory SD card. Unless we find a way to edit the registry to resolve this conflict of memory, the simple answer is that the SD card reader does not work under XP.

I think that it would take a major surgery of the register or re-writing of drivers to move the address of memory used by the SD card device, I always work on this for now.

Can someone support Toshiba or Toshiba Marketing explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" sticker on it, when Toshiba does fully support XP on the 9000 series?

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hi David

Unfortunately, I n t think that you will find here a Toshiba marketing person or other departments. It is ONLY a user to user forum.

What you say, it is simply NOT true.

The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all the images of this Toshiba home Toshiba service partner. That's why Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 has been bundled with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and also supports Windows XP!

Of course, there are different models with a different hardware configuration, but all supports Windows XP.

I put t know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card, but I guess you don t use the image of Toshiba. That's why you installed your operating system isn't properly. Because you are a newbie you don t know the Toshiba all the driver installation must be done in the right order and all Microsoft QFEs must be installed also.

As you can see you must pay attention to many important things if you want to manually install the operating system.

    Hello

To use the 3 G, you should first check whether the module G ericsson 3 has been successfully installed.
Where there is a visible yellow exclamation point in Device Manager, the 3G driver must be reinstalled.
I found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver:
    [Driver Win 7 3 G Ericsson | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 5 & selSeries = 148 & selProduct = 813 selSho rtMod = null & language = 13 & selOS = 30 & selType = 295 & yearup load = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = al lMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = 295 & page = 1 & ID = 71930 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42]

Additionally, make sure that the 3 G RF power control utility has been installed properly.
    3 G RF Power Control utility"turns your 3 G at the start.

This tool can be found here:
    [3G RF Power Control utility for Win 7 64 bit, | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 5 & selSeries = 148 & selProduct = 813 selSho rtMod = null & language = 13 & selOS = 30 & selType = 322 & yearup load = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = al lMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = 322 & page = 1 & ID = 73658 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42]

  • Tecra A11 - 11L - fingerprint sensor does not work

    Hello
I had a problem with my Tecra laptop. The fingerprint sensor does not work since yesterday. It also disappears from the hardware Manager. I tried to reinstall the utility, but the setup.exe will not run successfully. When I try to install the utility directly from the amd64 Directory installation will be successful, but the software is unable to connect to the fingerprint sensor. I also tried to install the original Windows image, but the sensor does not work.

    You have any ideas?

You can try a BIOS update and set the default BIOS. If it still does not appear in Device Manager, the player is maybe defective or there is a connection problem. I'm guessing that the laptop is still under warranty, you may have to send the laptop to a Toshiba repair center.

  • Tecra A3 - Creative wireless mouse does not work

My Creative wireless mouse does not work while the touchpad is installed.

Even if I turn off the touch pad, the seal of the mouse does not work.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you
    R.P.

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say what the problem is. I guess you have some software installations to your external device. Install it and it should work.

As much I know external mouse functionality does not depend on the touchpad settings.

  • Tecra M7: ESC/Rotation button does not work

There is "ESC" key on the screen of the control panel (lower left corner). The other function of the button is to turn the screen if you hold for more than 1 sec (depending on the image and the manual).

This should be handy in tablet mode. Unfortunately, the rotation function does not work for me. The button itself works because flight' does what it says. I don't mean to redefine 'escape' to 'spin', but there is not even this option.

Someone has / had similar problem?

    Hello

This ESC/Rotation button works in the same way as the ESC key when struck or changes the orientation of the screen when pressed for more then second. That s right!

Have you read the additional information in the user manual? I found some nice info in succession the orientation of the screen section.
You can change the orientation of the screen on three different ways and one in this way is the use of the key ESC/Rotation!

When Toshiba Rotation utility and Toshiba accelerometer utilities are run, the changes in the orientation of the top and bottom of the screen is automatically recognized by pressing ESC/Rotation for more than a second.

So remember that the two utilities are run correctly!

    Best regards

  • Tecra A10 - update the BIOS does not work on Windows 7

Upgrade the BIOS for TECRA A10/M10 and Satellite Pro S300/S300M to v1.90 version using P0065v190.exe (bios 20090304141534) fails with the message:

"The [error] BIOS update is not taken in charge of operating system. No support for operating system or service pack is installed. »

Note: Running as Administrator returns the same error.

Probably Windows 7 only is not supported but, it must be explicit protection since the release of Vista should work in 7. There is no update setting to jump this protection?

BIOS update is designed and tested for some OS. Win7 is not on the market and now Toshiba offers tested BIOS updated for Vista only.
Sorry, but what else to say. You probably know how supposed BIOS updated and it can be dangerous. So do not play with this and do not untested experimenting with such things.

Win7 will be placed on the market in a few months and Toshiba will start a public support. You can wait a few weeks isn't it?

    _Errormessage: _

    An unexpected error caused.
Exit this application and start it again.

    Hello

Maybe you should try different media
These error messages appear especially if a disc is not completely compatible

I guess you used the same discs previously in order to create the right recovery disk, I know it's strange, but I think you should try another disc.

  • Tecra A9 SD Card reader does not work!

3 Tecra A9. All running Windows XP Sp2.
On the whole, the SD card reader is very intermittent.

    Here's what's happening.
Displays the card into the slot. Nothing in my computer.
I go into disk management, there is no additional volumes (checking to see if she tries to use a used drive letter).
BUT in DEVICE MANAGER there is a new entry, the storage VOLUMES, under the present VOLUME GENERIC is, and in this context, he said "location:"remove the SD card and the entry disappears. SD card "

Any ideas on how to access this drive?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Firstly, you must ensure that you are using a compatible SD card and supported.
Access to the Device Manager, then remove the SD card reader in Device Manager list.
Then use the free application called CCleaner to clean the registry and the system.
Further you need to download the driver from SD card on the page of the Toshiba driver and should be updated.

In most cases that the accelerated procedure allows to solve the questions one SD card.

    Hello

tried to do a memory test? If this isn't the case, I suggest you to do. For these tests, I would prefer to use "memtest86" (www.memtest86.com)
Otherwise I guess that your motherboard is faulty and you need to bring your machine to a local ASP.

If you need help to find an ASP, here's a good site:

  • Tecra M10 - Sound does not work on Windows XP SP3

TECRA M10 sound does not work with Win XP SP3

    1. the drivers from the toshiba web site.
2 chipset drivers and audio drivers were reinstalled no luck,.
    3. no mute FN + Esc
    4. feature eat that all drivers ok

    Hello

If I understand your right all devices listed correctly in the Device Manager and you don t have yellow exclamation points?

Normally, for high definition sound cards, you need two patches from Microsoft:
    KB835221 and KB888111.
Normally, these patches are integrated into SP3 but it works only if you install the audio driver after SP3. So, if you have an older version of XP without SP3, you must update to SP3, all first and then install the display driver.

So in your case, you must delete the current sound driver and restart the laptop. Then use CCleaner to clean the registry and system files. Reboot the laptop. Then download and install the driver of his newest Realtek Hompage.

    Good bye

  • Re: Sound does not work on Tecra M10

    Hi all

I have a Tecra M10 with XP and all the drivers installed, but sound does not work.

I checked the Device Manager and everything is fine, no red cross or whatever it is on the driver realtek audio.

Everything on the sound properties. I even uninstalled and downloaded the audio driver from the toshiba site again but still no sound and no mistake.
    Can someone help out here?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

The sound is turned off on your laptop? With the FN + ESC key combination you can enable/disable it.
    Check it!

In addition to the high definition audio devices you need two patches from Microsoft to go looking for the proper functioning. Have you installed the two?
Here are the links to the Microsoft Knowledge Base where you can download both:

  • Tecra 540 CDT: keyboard does not work properly

    Hi people

Just bought a 540cdt Tecra second hand and the keyboard is a bit strange - A key does not work and some of the keys seem to make things weird-UPDATE prints an exclamation mark and key END operates caps lock etc. I don't know if it's a keyboard of knakckered or whether the same strange keyboard configuration has been made. If it's a flat keyboard will install a replacement to solve the problem?

Also, is it possible to replace the CD drive with a DVD - ROM drive. From the looks of it all DVD players I have met seem to be model specific.

    See you soon

    Peter

    Hello

Maybe your operating system has keyboard settings wrong country.
Check in the control panel settings. But for me, it looks more like a keyboard or a keyboard controller failure.
Perhaps also loses the keyboard cable.
I don't know if only a new keyboard will solve the problem. I think the detailed diagnostic test is necessary.
If you want to upgrade your laptop with DVD drive, please check first if it is taken in charge and compatible. If you install the disc is not compatible, then you will get an IDE error and the BIOS does not recognize the drive.

  • Tecra 9100: Headset does not work

My Tecra 9100, headphone connector does not work. Do the good internal speaker. If I plug in headphones or external speakers, the interns are being extinguished, but external devices, I don't hear anything.

My sound card is generally, I thought that there could be a chance to solve the problem simply say - and reconnect wire/Council of the front-end connectors to the sound card... but I never did any technichal stuff in a Tecra, so it would be nice if someone could give me feedback where and how to open it, and if it's still a chance to solve my problem.

    Hello

If you can hear the sound from the internal speakers as well as the sound card works correctly.
In your case I recommend you first check the audio settings in the audio and audio devices you can find in the control panel.
    Check all THE audio controllers.

  • Tecra 8000: monitor and the HARD disk does not work - does not start

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra 8000 given to me the year last by my uncle. I live in England, but it is and bought the PC in Italy. I do not know if this causes complications, but I thought it may be useful.

Since I got it it occasionally did not display any image of all system startup, so if I have given some time and restarted it would start working again. Happening of bagan more frequently and now I can't make it work. I have conections and found that everything was in place. Then he doesn't seem to be turning on, however when I replaced the front LED cable seems to be turning on and although I couldn't hear much the CPU was luminous heat. I opened the drive and it gave once more, succeeded him and he still wouldn't start. I had purchased and replaced the screws on the heatsink around this area but I did not handle it with many other things.

So now, I have a monitor that does not work and a gard drive that won't start... Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Could be either the card mother, CPU or ram. The processor when it goes bad or is not locked in place (have had this before, install the CPU but forgot to turn the lock, so he cannot move) the computer will act as its startup, don't give any error and stay on a black screen. Verify that the processor is locked in place. Then remove the ram and try a stick of RAM that runs on another computer. If you try the RAM and the processor do not always start, then chances are your motherboard is dead and must be replaced. Hope this helps and that solve you the problem.
