Teradata Heteregeneous connectivity

Hello

I am trying to establish a connection to teradata using oracle HS. I'm running on rhel 5 with DB Oracle 10 g 2.

I think I did the steps correctly but can't do a query for Teradata:

I get the following error:

Can someone tell me where I configured it wrong. As I have seen many examples in my own research on the internet, the path to the libodbc.so to odbc that they use what they placed as parameter for the SHAREABLE_NAME.

I would appreciate your help on this.

the gateway init file depends on the SID that you use in the listener who begins the process of bridge.
According to your listener, the SID is: (SID_NAME = Tera)
If the gateway in your init file is called initTera.ora
Please make sure the INITHSODBC. ORA file is renamed to initTera.ora

We do only support MySQL, DB2, Sybase ASE, Teradata, and SQL Server. You can also use PostgreSQL, but we pass full support for it.

If you upgrade to version 4.0 of the SQL Developer and use Java 7, you can also sign in to Access.

  • Can I connect SQL Developer to Essbase?

I know that tools such as the table can connect to Essbase, but how can I connect Oracle SQL Developer to Essbase?

    You have not, I'm afraid.

SQL Developer is a development tool for working with databases oracle that supports connections to a set of data bases third-parties for the purposes of specific to oracle migration.

Third-party databases supported are listed in help, but from memory they are UDB DB2, MS SQl Server, Sybase, MySQL and Teradata.

Developer SQL is not a tool of multiple databases.

  • Question on how to install ODBC Teradata on CF9 64-bit?

Need to install the drivers of Teradata on 2 different servers: A Windows 7 64-bit and Windows Server 2008 R2, both running IIS 7.5 and CF 9.0.1 in 64-bit.  Am pretty sure that this must be set up as an ODBC Socket in CF Admin.  I downloaded the drivers 32 and 64-bit Teradata Teradata web site (13, those most recent version).   But have not been installed, or even do anything.

First of all, it is correct with CF9 64 - bit, in CF Admin, the dropdown to ODBC Socket will be only display 64-bit drivers?  Allowing only ODBC connections using 64-bit drivers?   For example, I was unable to get a 32-bit IBM DB2/UDB ODBC driver will appear in the menu dropdown.  However, the same 64 bit DB2 driver is displayed in the drop-down menu, but when I test the connection in CF Admin, I get a "type mismatch" error message  Have not been able to solve.  Hope that I do not suffer the same problem with Teradata.

On a server of Windows 7 development to work, I installed the drivers from Teradata 32 bits, but on a 32-bit Windows 7 and CF9.0.1 32-bit server.  After installing and configuring the driver of Teradata 32 bits in the control panel ODBC Data Sources, the pilot DID appear in ODBC Socket drop-down and tested fine.

But don't know what to do on the 64 - bit and 64-bit CF9 servers?   If someone has been able to install and set up a connection Socket ODBC Teradata on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 with success, 64-bit, using CF9 64 bits and IIS, would appreciate any help or advice on what you did to create a successful in CF Admin connection.  Thank you

    Gary

Problem solved.  Finally, found CF9 64-bit does not support ODBC Socket 64-bit connections.  You will get an "architecture mismatch" error when you try to check the DSN.  But you can create a JDBC for Teradata connection, I did successfully.   Previously, I've never added a JDBC connection, so had to do the research, reading, to see how this is done.  In fact, it isn't too bad once you understand the process.

Remember, when you add a new DSN JDBC if you don't do it exactly right and know exactly what you are doing, you might damage the file used to start the CF administrator.  This is what happened to me the first time.  I was not able to start CF Admin and lost access to my DSN and couldn't run any. CFM files.

Before making any changes to DSN in CF administrator, don't forget to save your file "neo - datasource.xml' in your C:\ColdFusion9\lib folder.  You will also lose your. BAK copy of this file, if the CF Admin can not start.  Fortunately, I had a good copy of this file on another computer and copied on my workstation, and CF Admin was able to start.

I was then able to add the DSN successfully verified and JDBC driver.  I now have my home office work station (CF9 x 64 and Win7 x 64) in Chicago, able to connect to our data warehouse Teradata in Houston, via a VPN connection.  Ran some test queries and everything worked well.

Hope this helps someone else who's trying to do something similar.

  • Unable to connect to Essbase on Regional service Console server because of error 1042006

    Hello

I installed the whole EPM 11.1.1.3 on Windows x 64 platform. When I try to connect the server essbase through the Regional service console, I get the following error:

    Check your network connections.
Also, make sure that the values for server and port are correct

I checked the CFG file, which shows the correct port as well. I can connect to the Administration of Essbase server located on the same machine, but do not know why I get this error message. Below I have pasted the contents of the CFG file, in case where someone wants to cross check it out.

    CFG File indicates the following:

Ideas that would be really useful.

    Thank you

There is a clue in the error message and the CFG file you posted.

    The error message:
    ...
    Unable to connect to [localhost:1423].
    ...

    CFG file indicates:

    ...
    ; AGENTPORT 1423
    ...
    AGENTPORT 1424
    ...

The port default (1423) is commented out and changed in 1424. Your EAS connection must use port 1424 and not default to 1423.

Try to use "localhost:1424" (without the quotes) in the Essbase server field when you add the Essbase server to EAS.

  • Impossible to get the CF 9 Admin to connect to the IBM/DB2 server

I'm trying to set up a new Data Source in ColdFusion 9.0.1, CF Admin, to connect to the database/server of my company IBM/DB2.  The server IBM itself is 64-bit, and I use my computer at home with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

We use the customer IBM/DB2 version 9.5 FixPak 4.  It is available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.  I downloaded both and the 64-bit installed driver and it does not work.

In Control Panel/ODBC Data Sources, System DSN tab, it shows the IBM DB2 ODBC Driver.  I have it configured with the correct host name, name of the comic, user name and password, etc., and fine tested connection here.  When I click TEST CONNECTION, the answer is 'successful connection'.

But when I go to CF Admin and add this as a Source of data, using ODBC Socket, it shows my connection "named" Control Panel/ODBC.  But when I try to connect, I get the answer: "UNABLE TO VERIFY for the opening of SESSION and an ARCHITECTURE MISMATCH."

Question: CF 9 Admin does support 64-bit ODBC drivers? Wonder if this is the reason why Windows ODBC will make the connection, but Admin CF won't.  If so, I could uninstall the 64-bit driver and install the 32-bit driver and try again.  Given that few people at work know ColdFusion, I don't have a lot of support here.

I installed the 32-bit driver on my Windows 7 desktop PC, but it has Windows 7 32 bit.  I have also updated the drivers on several Windows XP SP2 client computers, using the same IBM DB2 Client, but the 32-bit version.  All of you who work very well in CF Admin.

Hope someone has tried this and has some tips on how to connect to a database of IBM/DB2, CF 9.0.1.  And if Admin CF9 supports 64-bit to connect drivers to other sources of data?  FWIW, all my other Admin SEE data sources (various company Oracle and other servers) work correctly in CF Admin, but I use the default ORACLE supplied with CF9 drivers.  I can't use integrated DB2 drivers for CF9, they are not compatible.  You must install the IBM DB2 client, in order to connect to the database/server IBM.

Thank you for any help or advice.

    Gary

Finally got the drivers IBM DB2/JDBC installed, configured and running on my Win7 64 bit PC.  Should be the same game on our server Windows Server 2008 R2 production at work, so am all together.  Still using CF 9.0.1 64-bit, fortunately.  It's the 2nd JDBC connection, I was able to set up correctly (using 'OTHER' as the DSN), including Teradata JDBC.

When you download and install the IBM DB2 9.5 IBM drivers, you will find 2 JDBC drivers, you will need, including a JDBC class 4 driver, on your hard drive (in the folder: c:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\java).  DB2 drivers that come with CF9 are for mainframe DB2 and do not work in the DB2 server environments.  Although we have 4 IBM 3090 mainframes, I needed that connection to our data base 30-Server DB2 Warehouse.  After 4 months of trying, finally figured it out and it works fine.  And just as fast, or faster, than the connection ODBC 32-bit that we use on our older servers, 32 - bit.

That I did not "understand is that even after the Adobe technical support call, they were without help.  They wanted $250 for a call of 'pay-per-incident', and there was probably no guarantee they would have the answer I needed.  Here is the answer I realized myself today.  Hope it helps others and saves the cost of an expensive phone call (or hours of Googl'ing).

Here is the procedure, if it helps someone else. Or if you had to get rid of your DB2 32-bit ODBC Socket connection and try the class 4 JDBC drivers that run on machines of 32 or 64-bit.

1 copy these 2 files in your root CF bin folder (for example, C:\ColdFusion9\lib) db2jcc4.jar and db2jcc_license_cu.jar

2 Add db2jcc4.jar and db2jcc_license_cu.jar to Java and JVM paths (restart CF application server)

    3. URL JDBC: jdbc:db2: / / MyServerName:MyPort / MyDBName

    4 driver class: com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver

    5. Enter your user ID and PW and SUBMIT.  No connection string is necessary, and no other change in advance settings.

When I got the Green letters that said 'connected successfully', I was thrilled.  So I ran some queries to test, and they all ran fine and fast.

As mentioned, been trying for months find this procedure by manually configuring the drivers JDBC is something new for me.  It is not difficult, but if you never did, you don't really know, do you use?  In any case, I hope this helps someone else using a PC/Server 64 bit.

  • Receive error message when you connect to a Hyperion Essbase Studio 11.1.2

    Hi all
I searched the forum trying to find an answer to my problem without success. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

When you try to connect to Essbase Studio Client, you receive an error "connection with Essbase Studio Server error: network error ', in the details of the tab of this popup is"network communication with the server failed. Check your network connection and try again.
"Connection refused: connect". I found that this usually means that the Essbase Studio Service is not running. 11.1.2 Hyperion Essbase Studio is installed as a service. I don't know if this is the case in previous environments.

The windows service is running and running and I also try to start from the start menu and it doesn't seem to be errors. But when I look at the logs of start-up, that's what I find.

  • Creation of business components of Teradata tables

I am using the wizard 'business components of the tables' using a connection to a Teradata Database. Business components created without attributes. I get an error where JDeveloper think that Teradata table is a primary key. But I created the primary of the table (not to be confused with a primary index, which is a different primary key object in Teradata) explicitly. Am I really not supposed to use ADF to deal with Teradata databases? I was hoping that ADF would be able to work with databases other than Oracle. Maybe is there something special that needs to be done for the Assistant to business components to recognize the primary key of the table of Teradata? If we need create all objects manually Teradata company ADF is not an option of goo for Teradata.

This page documents the DBs we certify with:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11/database.html

If Teradata is SQL92 compliant this should work in theory, but that their JDBC driver is missing certain aspects of a correct application of metadata interfaces, it could break the functioning of our assistants in design time.

You may need to create the EO attributes by hand in this case.

You must only change the port if you are sure that there is something else running on port 5300, if you say Studio has worked in the past and you have installed any other product so it wouldn't Studio using this port.

Some of these messages that you post are standard warning messages.

  • Type options pilot missing in jdbc connections

    Hello

    I have some difficulty to add and modify jdbc connections in BI Publisher, Enterprise Manager. I have deployed the BI Publisher app on a wonderful oc4j container, and when I try to add/edit a jdbc connection, I'm not able to choose a Type of "pilot". The drop-down list is simply empty. The Type of 'pilot' is necessary if you want to save the jdbc connection. My questions are;

-Why is this menu drop-down empty? (Missing a few pots?) `
-Where BI Publisher Gets the Type options "pilot"?

    Hope someone knows the answer
