  You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

  I use [command] - and [Ctrl] + on the numeric keypad to zoom text in and out.

  This software not did me not where the problem was. But the theory of this software pointed me to the Windows shortcut Commander (http://hkcmdr.anymania.com/index.html). I could find that software natural drive (which was the latest software I have installed the other day) was one that was hijacking the key sequence. Windows Hotkey Commander allows me to disable the special keystroke... well worth the money.

• Ethernet port no longer works

  I have an iMac (21.5 inch, mid 2011) running OSX 10.11.3 and today my ethernet port no longer works.

  Things I've tried:

  • Put the cable on another computer. The cable works fine.
  • Several reboots of the imac.
  • Go to safemode (SHIFT key at startup), still does not see the ethernet port.
  • Past to recovery (command + R to start) mode, the ethernet port is functioning normally. (Now I'm confused)

  Thus, it works in recovery, but not in normal mode or safe mode.

• After having recently updated windows, some programs no longer work. In addition, System Restore does not work.

• AutoPlay no longer works for the camera!

  Also recently that 2 months ago, I was able to connect my canon rebel xti on my laptop Windows 7 x 64 and would get an autoplay prompt to import the photos.  All of a sudden now when I plug the camera in I hear the sound that the usb device is recognized and I can see the camera to the computer, but I no longer get the autoplay popup.  I went in the AutoPlay settings and reset default but still do not get the command prompt.  I can still manually launch Live Photo Gallery and import like this but I liked to get the command prompt, AutoPlay works fine for DVD, USB keys, etc but not the camera.

  If I connect the camera on my Win 7 32 bit Office the guest of AutoPlay works fine, something get corrupted on my laptop somehow?

  "URL Bar Search" which is an extension? Or are you referring to the address bar, sometimes called the address bar?

  Let's try a few basic trounleshooting.

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • Click on the menu button , click Help , and then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
  • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
    (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

  

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

• Ideapadu350 wlan HW switch no longer works

  On my u350 aged 1 year Ideapd, the hardware to activate the wifi on/off switch is "a little" dead.

  Sound is off now and I cannot turn it on again, when I switch, the small duct which must be turned on, is not, nor the network connects to just about anything. Windows reports that I need to activate the switch of hw, linux reported wifi disabled by rf-switch.

  With the rfkill linux command, I can see, when you press the switch, that activates / turns off properly, windows some Popup screen shows as his permit, but it simply doesn't.

  What can I do now?

  So I solved the problem, just in case someone in the future runs into the same problem (found some hits from Google on the same subject, unresolved) here's how I fixed it.

  There is no way, at least, I found none, the difficulty that under Linux, it seems to be an odd implementation by lenovo or the driver.

  FN + f5 activates / deactivates softblock on Linux, while the fn + f5 toggle hardblock in windows or at least a sort of hardblock, blocked its although strong that the physical switch no longer works, so to fix this, windows startup, press fn + f5 and turn on wifi, it will work on Linux as well. Very odd behavior, windows SW settings override physical hw switch.
