• I want to search for messages, but the search box wants rather Google search!

  In Xubuntu 14.04 24.5.0 Thunderbird. Your help indicates that the research above the filter box will search for messages but mine happens only with a Google search on the web!

  As a result of one of these points, a possible culprit would be an extension. If you prefer a little troubleshooting before using Refresh...

  You can view, turn off and often remove unwanted extensions or unknowns on the page modules. Either:

  • Command + shift + a (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

  In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right side. All extensions are optional. When in doubt, turn off.

  Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  If you're infected with system check it is important not to delete all files in your Temp folder or use of cleaning of temp file. It is because when the infection is installed, it will remove shortcuts found in various locations and store the backups of them in the %Temp%\smtmp folder. It does what you have when trying to launch a program in your Start menu, any of your shortcuts will appear and making it so you think that your computer has a serious problem. Therefore, if you do not want to delete all files in your Temp folder to delete the backups we use later in the guide to restore your Windows Start Menu.   To still do believe that your computer is not working properly, check system will make also as well as certain folders on your computer screen without content.   I've never managed to get Windows Search to work in XP Service Pack 3, but the Search Wizard works fine.  I tried to index the C: drive.  I clicked on 'Rebuild' under Indexiing Options.  The c: drive shows in Indexing Options, excluding some unnecessary subdirectories.  It's all buzzing around for awhile and then says "0 indexed items" and "complete indexing.   I use Norton Internet Security.  What I am doing wrong?

• Firefox cannot connect to google in the search bar

  I recently had an attacker change the IP address of the DNS server in my router to a bad. When it has been changed, I couldn't access google or facebook. I have fixed and can browse both sites, but the search bar in the upper right won't take me to google. I get an "Unable to connect" error. Do other search engines (e.g. wikipedia) is very good.

  Firefox 37 right out of the box (+ router nonsense) on Ubuntu 14.

  Time seems to have fixed. Maybe the https / /google.com ip has been in cache or something.

  I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Pro/sp3.

  The research and the companion does not work.  It returns an error message which: unexpected error: action could be completed.

  Disabled the indexing service (using the companion anyway).  Same result.

  I first tried this:

  regsvr32 jscript.dll [Enter]
  Regsvr32 %Windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll [Enter]

  I got a positive result on each attempt.

  But the search is the same.  No error message just looking.

  Then I tried the Windows\inf folder for the srchasst.inf file, right click and choose Install.  He asks me the SP3 CD, but when I insert that, he won't find the file msgr3en.dll on disk.  So he did not finish.

  No idea how to get the search works again.

  I want to be able to change the sort order of the items, I already looked in the search box. I want to be able to hit the arrow key down and see my previous searches in order of last search showing the first. For the moment, I don't know how it is sorting and it is very annoying to have to re - enter a query that I typed 5 minutes earlier, but because I typed in another 10 since it's lost somewhere in the list.   'Form filling' uses a "frecency" algorithm, frequency + recency, similar to the list of AutoComplete address bar.

  I found an extension that seems relevant, but critics are old, so I'm not sure it's still working: Searchbar Autocomplete Order.

  But... is the AutoComplete does not? I expect that typing a few characters of the previous query would be to filter the list so that you can easily select? Or is the problem that the list does not remember quite who looking for?

• I can search for a file "xyz" and find everything BUT the file I want. This happens even when I know that the file exists.

  I try to search for a file... choose any file name... like 'cat' but get everthing that doesn't even look like a cat.  I can get a list of files of a thousand, but anything containing same cat in the filename OR in the file. No idea what I am doing wrong?

  Was working before, but have only allowed a number of updates to Windows that had been blocked for a while.

  For example. Type 'safe' in the search box. It finds files and directories with 'security' in the title, but not the files and directories that I can see are there with 'safe' in the title.

  When I search using the "safe * ' it seems to do exactly the same thing as"safe ".  It does not show only files beginning with 'safe'

  My suggestion was not ' safe * ' but ' name of the file: ~ safe * "(without the quotes).

  OK guys so first sorry for the display of this message which is not really RELEVANT in coding or something but I need your help.

  I'm learning AS 3 with Adobe flash CS6 and I was home for a week, but I tried before FlashDevellop.

  My problem is that I'm COMPLETELY lost. I understand some code (variables, table, conditionnals, logical operators, event handling in some measure etc...) and I literally (yes I did) followed EACH tutorial that was the later page of google for searches like "How to code in AS3 for flash CS6" or things like that. But I feel lost.

  Tutorials you will say to use images and don't even speak of classes, like everything that could be done with only images on the timeline and the code in frames. Others don't even talk about classes and tell you what can be done with the code in an image

  What I'm trying to say is that: making games seems really fun and coding doesn't seem THAT hard (I just search for name of functions or events on the web when I'm not sure because I just started)

  But sometimes I don't understand what I got wrong, or what I would do indeed at any given time. What should I use, and well yes I have no idea.

  There are many things to take into account.  I don't think it's a matter of AS3 being a simple coding language... the simplicity of coding/languages are compared to the experience of the user... for some, it might come easy, now, but it didn't come without a lot of the suffering that you seem to be enduring.  You seem to actually like you are coming along very well.

  I doubt that it is a tutorial all encompassing fact to satisfy your request.  Most of the tutorial topics will focus on specific aspects.  If you want to learn how to work with sound in form of code, then look in the tutorials for the Sound class... search Google using 'His tutorial AS3' and I bet that there will be a lot of short and sweet lessons available for you to work through and draw lessons.
