• HP Envy x 360 (M1V68UA): USB Ports all failed - resembled HW failure, but resolved by reinstalling a driver

  This post is an explanation of the complete absence of the laptop (2.0 & 3.0) USB ports and the later hotfix.

  Suspecting a hardware failure, I ran the Diagnostics UEFI and received confirmation of a default by a character 27 failure code.  This type of information is supposed to be useful to someone, but I couldn't find any documentation on this failure on the Web code and technician HP customer care has never offered an explanation.  The ID of the failure, I received was:

  I made arrangements to ship the laptop to HP repair, but while waiting to receive their shipping box, I continued to research.  I happened to run System Mechanic from iolo and noticed a tool "Toolbox |" Recover | Troubleshooting of the system"that took me as a result of convenience store window 10.  I ran the hardware and devices troubleshooter, and confirmed a problem with the USB ports.  But, surprisingly, the fix was to install the latest driver for the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller (USBXHCI. (SYS).

  Once the driver has been reinstalled, the USB port problem has been resolved.  He worked for 3 days and I was able to back up my laptop on an external hard drive into a USB port, as I usually do.

  So if you see a problem with your USB ports, which can resemble a hardware failure, it is better running of the utility window hardware & peripheral troubleshooting.  It can save you an unnecessary repair work.

  As I understand it you had conducted a test of material using the UEFI diagnostic tool and received a failure ID, however, you install the latest driver and solved the problem.
  
  I'm glad that worked for you, even if you keep the only common, the ID of the failure you captured represents a "Communication error" device on devices such as GPS, switch and/or USB, HUB, Modem, network card, network drive, PCI, PCMCIA card.

  Install the most recent driver is one of the first steps to solve the communication error, however, if the problem is intermittent because it sometimes a repair would be the best way to go.

  Please check the temperature of your notebook CPU (processor), GPU (graphics card), the motherboard and the temperature of the HDD with HWMonitor (free and recommended). Take a screenshot, download somewhere and post here link.

  It is due to overheating. It can be connected with fan or / and dust.

  Cleaned dust fans, even once through these three years?

  If this isn't the case, then you should do it for you now. When you perform this check please how this stage changed the temperature of all components.

  This should help you get started. First of all, a link to these tables in the HFM database:

  Two things to note:

  (1) "status field" is defined to include only 5. 5 is the status of posted JVs.
  ' (2) ' period ID "field is set to 67108873. It is the identifier for October.

  Once you get things to work, you might want to set up a couple of new tables in your access (or other) db to take account of the State and the period cross-references. Status of 4 is rejected and I think 3 is submitted. The months are sequential (and the same each year), so Nov is 67108874 and Dec is 67108875.

  Good luck. It is not too difficult, once you have everything set up.

  Edit: forgot to mention the DEBIT_CREDIT_UNIT field in the JLENT_1_2009 table. The values in this field are 1 or 2 (debit and credit). This allows to calculate your display. You can integrate this into the SQL with an IIF statement in Access for example. The SQL above has been account for this.

• Slow start, "Frozen Desktop", MS C++ Runtime Library - all after a power failure fast

  Our House had a short cut (2 seconds), and immediately after that the computer has restarted, the computer was a moment very unusually long to restart. When its many programs spinning if clicked on, and in some cases, the computer would freeze (for example, I need to click on "start" and it would freeze on the screen) or get the runtime error above (device trying to open firefox). And 'My Computer' is simply not open. I tried to restart in 'safe mode' but that did not work or the other. The computer is managed by a surge protector and have us get out before without any problem, so I hope it didn't fry the computer completely. Firefox and Norton won't work (they turn). "Freezes" the taskbar and the start menu opens, but with no icons (view through the desktop). 'My computer' opens but then charge (green bar through the movements of the top of the page), but then will 'freeze '. I don't seem to be able to start in "Safe Mode", but it will try again.

  Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, the problem was not resolved. The computer still load at a snails pace (close to 40 minutes) and programs spin when I try to open at least 60 seconds, or that they no longer answer. Now, I hear a real hard drive clicking sound, so I guess that some how the hard drive is physically damaged (if I have a surge protector - so I don't know how it happened). I plan to completely reload Vista (wipe everything) as a last ditch effort, but I'm guessing that won't matter either, like her that perhaps the HD is made.

  I saw your post yesterday. To be honest, there was not much information about the problem. Most of the people in this forum is ordinary VMware users like you, so that we cannot read or see the request for assistance you listed. That is why I think even you answer, and I guess that's the reason for which everyone left alone, too.

  VMware Fusion 8 is not free of errors, but I'm running multiple instances of Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows 2008 R2 Server with no start-up or significant performance problems. I have never seen anything that it is close to what you describe, and I suspect that there are many other users of VMware Fusion, which is reasonably satisfied with their machines virtual Windows 7 as well.

  Devoid of any useful information, other than your description of how long have you worked with VMware support without success, here are my thoughts and my questions:

  • Is a virtual machine for Windows 7 existing which worked and then failed after an update or upgrade of a certain type?
    • Update/upgrade to VMware Fusion?
    • Windows Update?
  • You can try a new installation of Windows to see if it fails in the same way?
    • (You can download a copy of the file .iso Windows install Microsoft.) You can run it briefly without activation, just to see if it works.)
  • The problem could have a certain type of damaged files or any other problem with Mac OS?
    • You can copy your virtual machine to another Mac running VMware Fusion to see if she has the same symptoms?
      • That would help you determine if the problem is your Mac or the virtual machine itself?

  Maybe you have already done a lot of the above, but I don't know. It might help to provide a more detailed description, including what you tried. Nothing but the facts. We already get it that you are not happy with the VMware Fusion product and related support.

• OfficeJet 6500 has more all - all-in-one makes weird noises like strings for guitar was extirpated

  You can set the default text that appears in all the legends of failure for the quiz via the parameters for the Quiz questions.  However, after you have made changes here that will affect quiz slides that you add AFTER that, change.  There is no way to change the text in all the legends of defect EXISTING at the same time.  You will have to select each one and replace the current text manually.  If you firmly believe that you will need to do this more than once, you might consider using a user Variable that displays as the value in the legends of the failure.  Then you can edit them while changing just the value of the user variable.

  As you can see this work is not without treatment statistics, constraints, etc. from PL/SQL. I want to do is make another impdp command but ignore objects that were imported with success as shown above. Is it possible to do (using the EXCLUDE parameter maybe?) with impdp? If so, what would it be?

  Why you just restart this work. It ignores everything that has already been imported.

  This is not my laptop, I can't tell if the person has been using some software dengerous like spyware or any other, but I suppose that it is very likely.

  There is a problem with the HARD disk, a message all the time, SMART 'failure predicted on hard drive '. PC is running, but slow, and not always to start Windows.   No, what you can do is to repair / fix the bad sectors on the HARD drive, but if there is a physical problem, it will not help

  The key belongs to the image of Toshiba that I n t think that it will work to activate the system installed using MS Win 7 disc
  However, you can download Windows 7 image of page Microsoft (google for it)
  Then you can burn the image to disk using Nero or other burning application supporting iso burning and could use this disc to install Windows 7

• SanDisk Extreme USB Flash Drive and SMART failure

  I just got 3 64 GB SanDisk Extreme USB Flash Drives and all three show SMART failures to reassign bad sectors. I struggle to believe that all three could be bad on first use. I use a program on a Mac (SoftRAID(4)) to certify all drives prior to use, including the SD cards and USB keys. I've never seen a failure so far.

  Readers see the successful certification but present a SMART failure.

  What is a disk problem or a SMART question or what?

  I agree that it is unlikely to have failed on the first use. Most likely, it is a problem with the SMART attributes. IIRC sandisk can't CHIP for this product so it formats without error, and data can be copied onto the discs with success, I wouldn't worry too much on this subject.

  I don't think it will be possible (or practical from a financial point of view) to fix the HARD disk, but a possible way to try to recover your files from a disk non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data even a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.
