TestStandModelReportOptions.ini in teststand 2012?

Hello

I just upgraded from Teststand 2010 to 2012.  We have always had our teststand configuration directory points to a directory under our tree of source control.  In this directory, teststand used to store changes to the configuration of the report in a file called TestStandModelReportOptions.ini.  This doesn't seem to be the case more for 2012.  It stores the configuration of report to which file?  Is it possible to force the old behavior (stored in the configuration directory defined in Configuration/Preferences/Options of Configure Directory / Station)?

Thank you

David J.

The report and database configurations (and any other configuration of the processor of the result) is now stored in \ModelPlugins\ResultProcessing.cfg.

So it is still under the specified configuration directory location, just in a subfolder.

  • TestStand 2012 launch problem

    Hello

    I have an annoying problem with TestStand 2012. Whenever I run the TestStand application a Visual Studio 2010 Shell dialog box appears "invalid license data. Reinstall is required. ». I have no Visual Studio is installed and I've ever had. I certainly never enter any license key. The same dialog box appears when you launch Version TestStand selector.

    I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1. Only Microsoft that's installed products are SQL Server Express 2012 and the .NET Framework 4 Runtime. I tried to reinstall times TestStand and .NET Framework always the same dialog box that appears. If I just press "Close" in the dialog box, everything works fine, but really annoying needing to do.

    Someone at - he seen this before and have a solution?

    This question, I recorded it in our tracking database. It will probably be addressed in a future release. You might want to try to install Visual Studio 2010 Express (I think it's a free download from Microsoft), or the alternative, I suggested.

  • TestStand 2012 keeps the value of the variable

    I have a problem with TestStand 2012 that preserves the value of the variable. I have a step and its parameters in the string variable. I use the expression step as Step.Settings += "00". I run the sequence under sequential model and the problem is that Step.Settings is equal to "00" on the first run, '0000' on the second throw, '000000' on the third race and so forth, but it must rest '00' on each race. I can't find the root cause. Anyone has the same problem and can advice how to solve?

    Try to uncheck the properties of the sequence > optimize reentrant calls to this sequence to the sequence that contains the step.

  • The location of the file TestStand 2012 report variable

    Hello

    TestStand 2010 SP1, I have the "path to the report file' as one of the column in the database by using the RunState.Report.Location.  He worked until I upgraded to TestStand 2012.  The RunState.Report.Location is always empty.  I also tried to use the RunState.Root.Locals.ReportFilePath, but I get an error that it is an unknown variable when you connect to the database.  Even to remove the in the expression of path of file below, there is no difference.

    I use the following report file path expression:

    "C:\\TSReports\\------_Report [] [] [USE]" _.".

    Which variable contains the path of the report file in TestStand 2012.

    I have not tried, but RunState.Report.Location can work if you set the new discussion of the report and the database on False (assuming that the report is the first in the list) so you can be sure that the report was generated before you check this value.

    You must set set it up > result treatment > show more Options to see the options for new discussion.

    This should give access to the report path is displayed (the one with the check mark in the display column). However, in TS 2012, you can have any number of reports.

    There is a new recall, GetReportFilePath, you can add to your sequences to get the paths of the report they are committed. You can store the paths in a total station or varying lengths for use later, if necessary.

  • TestStand 2012 Newbee question: How do I pass a string to a VI to TestStand to control the flow of sequence?

    I want to use a drop-down list box (or a similar control) in a VI to select from a list of strings to direct execution in TestStand.

    • How connect the channel selected in the combo box at the output of the VI Terminal so I can see it in TestStand?

    • What should I use as 'value' in the parameter module TestStand to retrieve the result of that VI?

    I tried "wiring" the result of the drop-down list box directly to a terminal of output without success.

    I tried "wiring" the exit from the drop-down list box to a wire string variable then this variable to an output without success Terminal.

    (see attached files)

    Can someone give me an example of a VI that allows you to select from a list of strings: {'Bob', 'Mary', 'Bill', 'Jennifer',...} using a

    (or similar) drop-down list box control and routing of the string selected to the output terminal?

    Also, how to reference this (result) setting within TestStand?

    It is a simple task and there can be only one solution TestStand, I'm looking for a simple direct execution sequence by the operator to select a string in a list.

    I studied this problem, but could not find instances of the digital comparisons or string canned and did not find a generic model that would return a string to a VI to TestStand result.

    Thank you for suffering through this fundamental question.

  • From TestStand ExtraPuTTY installed

    Hello

    I am currently using TestStand 2012, specifically the version 5.0.0.262 according to the button ' words of TestStand 2012 ". I would be interested in using ExtraPutty to send commands to a test remote computer using SSH. I came across the following of document http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/A254FE727B22258586257B6E002DF401. As suggested in the document, I downloaded the latest version of snapshot of ExtraPutty from this page: http://www.extraputty.com/download.php. And as mentioned in the same document, I have a problem from TestStand after the installation of ExtraPutty. The document suggests to change the file ExtraPutty.ini residing in TestStand 2012\Components\TypePalettes so that the version numbers correspond to the version of my installation of TestStand. In fact, I can find a file named 'Install_ExtraPutty.ini', but not ExtraPutty.ini.

    In Install_ExtraPutty.ini, I found several seemingly relevant entries such as "Prodversion, TypeLastMod, Version", etc. Most had numbers like 3.0. I tried to change these numbers at different values (5.0.0.0, 5.0, 5.0.0.262, 5.0.0.252, etc.), each resulting in the next window, after having tried to launch TS:

    I also took a look at the other .ini files in the same folder. All are difficult to read binary files. But I found what looks like to me (for the most part 5.0.0.0 and 5.0.0.252) version numbers which I also tried in Install_ExtraPutty.ini. Each time, the windows error above appears at the launch of TS.

    I'm running out of ideas and any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Christian DB

    Hi Christian,

    Even I tried to install and it did not work in TS 2012.

    I did the following:

    Downloaded the zip - ExtraPuTTY -.zipversion (binary, help files, examples...)

    Copied from ExtraPutty.ini to C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 2012\Components\TypePalettes

    TestStand open - it gives a conflict dialog box - choose currently responsible option.

    Close TS - it should ask to save the ExtraPutty.ini file.

    Copy the folder ExtraPuTTY-0-28 C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 2012\Components\StepTypes\ExtraPuTTY-0-28

    Open dialogue pallets Type (CTRL + T)

    Right-click on extraputty.ini

    On the right side window select function TL_init

    Right-click Properties - dialog box opens

    Click default button of the module - Check for path of the module.

    Select the extra PuTTY DLL which is present in the folder copied above.

    Repeat this operation for all functions.

    Save the ini file (do not change versions if you are prompted for).

    There are two DLLS in the PuTTY extra folder and one more. I assume it's the extra PuTTY dll only.

    I hope this helps.

  • Wired OR XNET session with TestStand causes Hex 0xBFF6309C error

    Hello

    I'm trying to access a Controller LIN via code (2012) PXI-8516, OR XNET and of LabView, TestStand (2012).

    To the point where "XNET session creation", I created two sessions (one for writing, for reading), everything works in LabView and without errors. Then I put these sessions to an indicator in TestStand. It sessions are stored in the premises and put them in the next call where I ty to send a frame.

    The result is always a 0xBFF6309C aka 1074384740.

    A test program that keeps everything in a States Labview machine behaves as expected and sends the frame without problems.

    The error for me text sounds me a bit as if sessions are not particularly be crossed TestStand.

    Everyone has experienced similar problems?

    Best regards

    Søren

    Solved!

    Obviously XNET him quite like if the screw using XNET not stored in the reserved State. It is a setting of the adapter of LabView in TestStand.

    To avoid unpleasant surprises and days of searching for error when porting software to an another machine-TS, you can also set the setting of the card by a line of code:

    RunState.Engine.GetAdapterByKeyName (FlexLVAdapterKeyName). AsAdapter.ReserveVIs = True

    I always consider this behavior if it is a bug, then at least a problem. If keeping the session in respect of these circumstances is not possible at least that TestStand should provide a better error message pointing out what happened.

  • Run the sequence TestStand silently in c# with report

    Hello

    I use TestStand 2012 SP1 and Visual Studio 2010.

    I want to run a TestStand sequence silently in my c# software.

    I saw on this web site, how to run a TestStand sequence (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-29585).

    This example is really interresting to know how make it work using the .NET interop API.

    The problem that I can't solve is that no report is created during execution of the sequence, although I added a step to configure the ReportOptions.

    Here, you will find the class that I use to start the TestStand sequence:

    public execution StartSequence (string sequenceFilename, string resultDir, out SequenceFile seqFile)
    {
    Run exec = null;

    Try
    {
    The admin user = Engine.GetUser ("administrator");
    Engine.CurrentUser = admin;

    SequenceFile seqFileModel = null;
    StationOptions stationOptions = Engine.StationOptions;
    stationOptions.DisableResults = false;
    stationOptions.AllowOtherModels = true;

    int flags = 107; GetSeqFileOptions.GetSeqFile_OperatorInterfaceFlags;
    seqFile = Engine.GetSequenceFileEx (sequenceFilename, flags, TypeConflictHandlerTypes.ConflictHandler_Prompt);

    bool modelExists;
    String modelPath = seqFile.GetModelAbsolutePath (on modelExists);
    seqFileModel = Engine.GetSequenceFileEx (modelPath, GetSeqFileOptions.GetSeqFile_NoOptions, TypeConflictHandlerTypes.ConflictHandler_Prompt);

    Configure the report options
    int reportOptionCallbackIndex = seqFile.GetSequenceIndex (DefaultModelCallbacks.DefModCback_ReportOptions);
    If (reportOptionCallbackIndex > - 1).
    {
    seqFile.DeleteSequence (reportOptionCallbackIndex);
    }
    Sequence reportGenCallback = seqFile.CreateCallbackOverrideSequence (DefaultModelCallbacks.DefModCback_ReportOptions, false);
    InsertStatementStep (reportGenCallback,
    'Parameters.ReportOptions.DisableReportGeneration=False,\n ' +.
    'Parameters.ReportOptions.GeneratePath=False,\n ' +.
    Required string. Format ("Parameters.ReportOptions.ReportFilePath=\" {0} \",\n', GenerateReportFilename (resultDir, sequenceFilename)) +.
    'Parameters.ReportOptions.UseOnTheFlyReporting=True,\n ' +.
    "Parameters.ReportOptions.PurgeOnTheFlyResults = True");

    exec = Engine.NewExecution (seqFile, "Single Pass", seqFileModel, false, 0, null, null, null);
    exec. Report.Location = resultDir;
    }
    catch (Exception)
    {
    throw;
    }

    return exec;
    }

    What's wrong with my code and what should I do to obtain a report related to the only passes?

    I hope someone will help me

  • What are the current versions of Labview and Teststand

    You can have as many 32-bit and 64-bit installed.  Don't forget your target when you generate an exe file.  64-bit compiled programs can run on 64-bit computers.

    You should have no problem upgrade your code of 8.5.

    If you use TestStand 2012, please upgrade to SP1 of 2012 TestStand, which corrects the problem of search in the help system. You can also access the help of TestStand 2012 on ni.com.
