Text box formatting

Hello. I'm fairly new to using APEX and I'm trying to understand some formatting for the text boxes.

I currently have a text field (with the tag search) which was originally the model "Optional (Horizontal - right-aligned) ', but using this fact my text field appear in the center of the region, it is in.

I wanted the text field appear on the left of the area by assigning "Optional (Horizontal - left-aligned).

However, only the 'Search' label has been moved to the left and the text field was not moving, so it appears as follows:

Is there a way I can make it appear as if it was below?

Thank you.

set these properties it will work for you

  • Text box formatting withdrawal negative first: first line begins on the left, the rest is on the right.

    InDesign CS6 finally arrived less than two weeks before I need the preliminary version of a major publication. I used last InDesign version 3 or 4. I used Publisher lately. I'm half way through the manual ID so direct me to a page number if this is the answer in there.

    I want the first line of a paragraph in my text box to start on the left, then jump to a tab where more text begins. Until then, the text would wrap tab if it is long enough. Then the process begins again with the following paragraph in the same text box. I would like this formatting be automatic, with not much fuss on my part to do at work - and run around (not on top of) pictures on the right.

    It should look like this:

    -----

    Funding: Funding goes here. It is long.
    It wraps to the point the tab to the 'a '.

    Description: A description goes here. It is long.
    It wraps to the point the tab to the 'a '.

    -----

    In Word, do you it by pulling the back 'home' to the right, where it aligns with the tab, and it is called a "hanging indent."

    Is it possible (easily) in InDesign? Or do I have two areas of text with the vertices lined up, to get two different margins 'left'?

    I tried to do it with a table but sometimes the table gets too long and the bottom line or two disappears, even if the blue lines are way big... and the text is not flowing around the photos to the right, so I have to keep narrow if the type is not on the top of the photo. This is not the effect I want! My last page model has seven two columns, a table of line that is not an ideal solution either because I have to manually set the gaps between paragraphs and tables - and the text isn't always in circulation around the photos.

    Help!

    Peter's suggestion works if you prefer justified left, titles that show you in your example. Indent to here works when you want to right justified titles that I show in my example.

  • Text boxes have gone white! Problem of formatting or glitch?

    We use InDesign on the same computer for years, and today (while establishing a print publication), text boxes went white. The text was not deleted, just inaccessible and invisible. The only way that the text could become visible was messing with the formatting - change column number, increasing the border spacing, etc. - and even then it would not completely work. Is it a formatting problem or a bug in the program? We have already done basic troubleshooting (restarting the computer, modify files, etc.). I would like to know why this happened, so we could avoid any incident in the future.

    Yes we usually postpone files from previous publications and who for years without any problem.

    Could it be a corrupted file?

  • Formatting of a single element of text in a text box (I know... I'm sorry)

    Hello

    I have a real problem to identify ways to format a single word in a text border box.

    I looked at all the issues here around that and they all seem relatively simple, but nothing that I do doesn't work.

    I created a symbol with a text box called initialText. I then placed the following code in compositionReady on the stage:

    SYM. $('initialText') .html ("< p > for business decisions, it is useful to ask yourself five questions < strong > < facilities > on the left.") If your answer to any of these questions is 'no', you have to stop what you're doing immediately and seek advice from your manager, your human resources department or your legal team and compliance. (< /p > ');

    However, it is simply not displaying all the text at all. I am pulling my hair - how can be so hard to format a single word?

    Could someone please talk me through it step by step, assuming that I'm a fool?

    Thank you

    Yes. I guess that your text is placed somewhere in the main timeline or in a symbol. If you are not sure of the way, when you are in compositionReady of the timeline on the side, you can use the code window to add your code.

    Chose / editing text and the forest down to the text name and double-click it. Will add the code text where you are (compostionReady of the chronology of the coast or where you are.) See the example below:

  • Keep formatting then copy / paste it into the text box

    Hello world

    I use Adobe Acrobat XI v11.0.0 on Windows 7.

    When I copy and paste numbers and text in the same text, I lose the original formatting. How can I stick with formatting retained? For example, if I copy "BOLD"1234subscript , paste in the same text gives me Bold1234Subscript.

    However, formatting is preserved when I copy and paste the entire text box.

    Thank you very much!

    As far as I know that you can do. In any case, it seems you are trying to use Acrobat in a way that is not part of its design. Return to your document original edit that, and then create a new PDF.

  • Text box makes the text in HTML format... stop!

    Hello

    I use AS 2 with Flash CS5.

    Every year in my teaching of interactivity in Flash, we get a few students who are unable to do this simple calculator to work. I have included the code to show you what we do.

    The problem is that the text boxes, rather than return a number, returns the HTML code. You can see the problem when you draw the 'response' output in the output window.

    We checked that "render text as HTML" is not clicked. I would really like to hear a resolution - maybe I can do that a better way! It seems if simple, yet he always causing trouble. I add that I do not see why it does?

    I would appreciate any advice.

    Stop();

    var a: number = Math.round (Math.random () * 10);

    var b:Number = Math.round (Math.random () * 10);

    var score: Number = 0;

    var sndTrack:Sound = new Sound();

    var sndTrack2:Sound = new Sound();

    trace(a+b);

    check_btn.onRelease = function (): Void {}

    trace (response);

    If (Number (answer)! = (a + b))

    {

    e = ("Sorry, the answer has been" + (a + b));

    sndTrack2.attachSound ("gasp");

    sndTrack2.start ();

    }

    on the other

    {

    e = ("well done, the answer was correct" + (a + b));

    sndTrack.attachSound ("clap");

    sndTrack.start ();

    Note ++;

    }

    }

    next_btn.onRelease = function (): Void {}

    e = "";

    response ="";

    a = Math.round (Math.random () * 10);

    b = Math.round (Math.random () * 10);

    Selection.setFocus ("answer");

    }

    Oh, you're not made of text.

    You must use the variable property of the textfield object.  which is the origin of the problem; You should never use that.  Use the text property of the textfield object.

  • Formatting dynamic text (box) [AS2]

    Hello

    I have a button called B and a dynamic text box called T

    How can I make the text box

    (1) fill color change?

    (2) change font of a text?

    (3) to change the font style of the text to "BOLD" or regular?

    (4) to a line of color around the frame?

    To place the text in the frame to click the button I would use

    B.onRelease = function() {T.text = "foo"};

    Also is it possible to change the color of a button by clicking or by moving over it?

    I need to do this in AS2

    Thanks in advance

    To manipulate the font of the text in the textfield, you must use the TextFormat class and the setTextFormatmethod of the TextField.  The help documentation should have examples if you linger, and you should be able to find useful information by using Google.  Here is a link to the TextFormat class we have on the web: http://docs.brajeshwar.com/as2/TextFormat.html

    To change the characteristics of the textfield also far than go to background and border colors, the TextField class has properties to those that you can set.  Here is a link to the same site linked above, but for the information of class TextField.

  • Formatting of the text box fields

    Hello, I have a few fields of boxes of text with the following properties:

    (1) PL/SQL function that returns body
    2) display as text
    (3) with labels, right-justified.
    (4) all the text boxes contain numeric values

    I would like just to justify the numeric values so that they line up on the right. How can I do this? They look like this now.

    Hi Sunny,
    It is very easy. What you have to do, go to the edit page, click the label that you want to change. Click the element in the top of the title page and edit Horizontal / Vertical alignment to right. It displays the value in the text box with a tangent.

    Hope this will help,

  • Reorganization of the text boxes so that they mix upwards or downwards

    Hello

    I'm not sure to understand what happens when the text inline boxes are dragged - I have 6 on a page that are the width of the page but different heights and I would like to re - order them so they mix it up or down depending on where I drag them, but at the moment they go to the bottom of the page or disappear completely I can't work on the behavior.

    I think there must be a way of formatting.

    Thank you

    James

    Select each text box and if you use v5 Pages, visit the reorder menu and text wrapping set to None. Now, the text box are not repellent, and you can position them as you please. If you always use the Pages ' 09 and then again, select each text box and the Wrap Inspector, deselect object causes wrap.

  • How can I display the printable two than non-printable ascii characters from a device and display it in a text box?

    Hello

    My send UUT to my computer via serial port of printable and non-printable ascii characters. The question is:

    (1) how to display all characters in a text box.

    (2) how can I display all these characters in hexadecimal format and display it in a text box?

    Thank you.

    Robert

    Text boxes can actually receive channels with printable and non-printable characters: nonprinting characters will be represented with a small square. For example, consider this code:

    tank has [512], msg [512];

    Create a string with embedded unprintable characters

    sprintf (one, "Hello: %c %c %c %c % c: World!", 1, 2, 3, 4, 5);

    Pass the string to the text box "such what."

    ResetTextBox (bH [1], b1_n, a);

    Format a hexadecimal representation of the string and add it to the text box

    FMT (msg, '\n%*d[zb1r16w2p0j1]', strlen (a), a);
    SetCtrlVal (Bosnia and Herzegovina [1], b1_n, msg);

    The result is as follows: the first line is the string passed "such what", what follows is the hexadecimal representation.

  • How to make a 'active' phone number in the text box?

    I'm testing in 10.1 and 10.2, using the following QML simulators.  What I'm trying to understand is that 'rules' the text box used to set the active text, including phone numbers.  All I'm trying to do is to put a phone number in the text box that my users the opportunity to click on it to the phone.  But I can't make it work, or more exactly, may not get the phone number to become active.  .

    As you can see that I tried a variety of number formats, some specific UK because I was afraid that he may use country specific recognition, but nothing I try works.

    On the other hand the address which I also put in the TextArea is 'hot' and started the map.

    FYI, the client is running in Canada on Q10s using 10.1.  The numbers are also completely fictitious, if they work, then that is a stroke of luck.

    I saw this:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/textarea-showing-quot-phone-numbers-quot/m...

    I was expecting that I didn't set the attributes for the text using C box.

    And I don't have permissions phone - eslewhere in the application that I detect when the user is on the phone.

    Any ideas on how I could get a phone number in a TextArea to be active, would be appreciated.

    Make read-only conditionally temporarily or permanently?

    In the first case, use a textarea element with the readonly attribute of the element instead of the built-in read-only properties. Set the HTML attributes of the element form item to the text box to:

    readonly="readonly"

    If it must be made conditional or temporary, explain the requirement in detail.

  • Table of contents - power of the text box

    Hello

    I recently started using Adobe InDesign and love it! I have a question around the table of contents. At the beginning of each chapter, we have a simple page with a box in it. (each chapter has about 10 pages). The intention is to have the content of the text become the title of the chapter box and have it displayed in the Table of content. The text box itself has several characters of new line in. When I generate the table of contents, InDesign creates several entries in the Table of contents (one per each new line in the text box). So my question is... Is there a way to specify that the content of the entire text box appears as an entry in the Table of contents. (I'd like to update the table of contents by hand to avoid any errors).

    I appreciate any help in this matter.

    Thank you!!

    So, you say that, break forced line and you want that all the rows in the table of contents? I think that I misunderstood.

    If this is the case you're going to the trouble of formatting of the table of contents, as the forced line break will carry you through to the table of contents (you can change the colours using styles or nested GREP and those will not set if you use a different style in the table of contents list itself).
