  Thanks, I realized what I was doing wrong, I was clicking on the checkbox next to "gradient overlay" when I should have been by clicking on the text "gradient overlay" it's me, as you have if rightly had pointed out I just asumed you meant the box lol. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

  If you open the gradient and the panels color chart you can click on the individual in the gradient stops, and if they were created from color chart that should underline the right shade, if you see not a shade highlighted, you can get the formula of color for the decision from the Panel of color instead.

  But this does not guarantee that gradient points have something to do with the solid color, you want to apply to your type. You can use colors that you like in a gradient and any solid color, you like for the text. Remember that if you use something other than 100% k or a spot color for the type you run the risk that it will be blurred, especially in small sizes and especially if the color is pretty clear. Process colors are mixtures of points and will not have the same crisp contours as type made 100% of a single color.

  Put the gradient (I used the first transparency plan) under the text layer.

  In order to clarify the procedure:

  1. Add a layer above the image.
  2. Choose the foreground color (I've tasted blue markers in the foreground).
  3. Select the gradient tool.
  4. Look in the foreground to the transparency of the Options bar.
     
  5. Place the tool gradient at the bottom of the image and move about a third of the way up.

  Draw a line through the descender of the letter. Select the letter and line, then click on split. Separate the two forms that result and send whatever shape you want behind the ring.

  However, when I go through the folio on my Tablet I don't see the gradient...

  I did a full page gradient and my text does not go to the top of it. My graphics will be but not my text. In older versions I create a gradient and send it to the back. So I did, and the only things that remained were the eps graphics. I can't get the text to come forward. What I am doing wrong.

  Two possibilities:

  you text is on a layer and the layer beneath the layer of that your gradient is enabled;

  or your textwrap on a gradient box.

  I'm creating a poster. There the text of PROGRAM of COMPOSTING MUNICIPAL BACKYARD (2 lines, backyard CITED above, then of COMPOSTING PROGRAM below)

  The text has a light brown dark brown gradient running up and down on the whole text.

  The text is on a green background.

  They now want the green background to be a banner wave, and the text is inside the banner and follow the wavy shape of the banner.

  And of course that the gradient must follow the wavy form of the text, so the tops of letters are the same light brown and the bottom of all the letters are the same despite Brown, dark letters are flowing up and down along the wavy shape of the banner.

  I received my text as a result of the wave of the banner, and I have a version with the text now changed to the railways (and a composite path because it's two lines), but of course when I apply the gradient, the gradient runs directly through the letters instead of follow the wave.

  Is there a way to do this? I found a method of creating a mixture and stroke following forms apply it as an accident, but not what I have to do here.

  I think it is easier and better use a combination of follows, with the two curved lines of direct Type (especially if they have Anchor Points (numbers of) correspondent):

  (A) direct select both the path of nofill who wear both sets of Type, then Ctrl / Cmd + X + B to bring to the back, then give them a fill and lock the Type of path together.

  (B) attach the ends of the two lines so that they form a something like a distorted rectangle (you can select directly the end corresponding units);

  (1) object > path > offset path by the distance down to the top of the text up/down the low text, this should give you a closed path extra with straight segments end;

  ((2) directly select the straight end of the segments and remove them with the winding of B rectangle), this should give you a line of top and a bottom line.

  (3) give up and down the color that you want at the top of the letters above and below the letters down, the lines then object > mix > blend Options, with the smooth settings and align on the track, this should give you the transition of color behind the original lines;

  (4) to unlock, then select the two curved lines of the Type and the object > compound path > make if not already;

  (5) select the Type (Path) alive and the color transition and object > clipping mask > make.

• Text 3D - Gradients are rasterized and causes the color of the strips

  I applied a 3D > extrude and bevel on my text. Now the problem is that when do my border (part that is extruded) causes a color, stripes, being given that it pixelated

  the gradients. See my picture below.

  Gradients are still pixelated when using the 3D effect:

  

  But what you show in your image isn't really pixelation.

  Fill the shape with a flat color and let the 3D lighting alter the values. Otherwise, apply the effect 3D with 'no shadow' then object > decompose the appearance and apply your gradients later.

  Illustrator 3D is not "top-of-the-line" and often requires exapanding and refining after the use of the effect.

• How to apply a gradient to the front of the text in 3D?

  I am trying to create a 3D text where the side front (towards the user) of the text has a gradient applied to it. I tried to apply the gradient before extrusion it but as soon as make you 3D gradient disappears. And there seems to be no option to apply a gradient in the layer of material of inflation.

  I'm sure this is possible, any ideas?

  I'm trying to spread evenly one gradient text and find that the right method to do this is to create outlines, a compound path , and then apply the gradient. However, when you do this the word parts are filled, while others are cut off. Here is a screenshot where you can see the errors.

  You don't need to convert text outlines.

  Simply add a new fill via the appearance Panel and the value that fill the gradient.

  

  If you really want to create good outlines. Once you do, you don't need to do anything a compound shape. Type that has been converted to outlines already contains forms for the chracters with counters. I suspect by creating compound shapes again, you broke the counters.

• gradients and exported from Illustrator or Freehand texts do not display

  After I updated my flash drive, older files designed and produced in Freehand (or old version of illustrator) are not displayed correctly.

  I said in the post on the forum but repeat here. It was a bug in 11.0.1.152 and fixed 11.1.102.55 that just came out this morning.
