Text of SMS Texting symbols on 8600 blackBerry Smartphones curve.

I have a Curve 8300 and wonder if there is a way to get text - like smiley faces symbols for SMS texting?  I can get for Blackerry Messenger but can't know if possible to send regular SMS.  Thank you!

Enter you as you would on a keyboard... like one :) for a smile, for sad, ;-) for a wink.

SMS is text only. Some mobile devices convert those real images, the BlackBerry does not work.

This new 9350 curve of love. Coming from a droid to Samsung Galaxy S, it's such an improvement.

The curve is fine except that I can't send a picture in a text.

I can email them, send to Twitter and Facebook but no texting.

All text without images work fine. It is kind of a big deal for me as I do a lot.

    Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile provider to support formal... "Everything" is a marketing term, not something technical on what services you actually have of them (not all the "Everything" plans are created equal!). And, if you pay them for this service, they are not of it.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Curve 9360 sometimes warms us up a little bit and the battery is discharged

Hi, my blackberry 9360 is sometimes a really weird thing. Once a week, after that I used the device to check email, check facebook or even simply by removing the door in leather and put it right back it drains the battery at a very fast pace and hotter than usual. I'm not aware immediately, but when I use the unit 3 hours later for example the battery is almost all gone and the unit is warmer than usual. Please not that it is warmer, but at a level acceptable, just as if it had been used during this period of time, not overheating. I charge the unit and check the activity monitor application and the CPU was mainly used by the... Idle CPU. The part of the device that heats is not the battery, but the device itself. It is rather annoying because I don't know when it will happen again. The only email account, I have installed is a Hotmail account and it goes as well with wifi on and outside. Someone has an idea it might be? Thank you in advace for help. Best regards, Alexander

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or all supported. If we hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will open a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. run in the background.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. • Text from PC to blackBerry Smartphones

How can I transfer SMS on my pc on my blackberry 9310. I connected it to my pc, and some photos appeared in my file file, but nothing else. I tried downloadeing some links I've seen in this forum. Nothing happened, no icons appeared on my desk

It worked. First of all, I made this link you sent me:

    http://support.BlackBerry.com/kb/articleDetail?articleNumber=000012487

    Then, I downloaded this application:

    http://download.CNET.com/BlackBerry-backup-Extractor/3000-2242_4-75446887.html

It's re-incubate. called Blackberry backup Extractor. It costs $25, but it has worked well, he converted all my texts in a spreadsheet of Word. Each, with all the people, in consecutive order. But at least I can have a record of what I can send or print.

I don't have a new text messages and I already checked myBB messenger to see if there are new messages in there and it was empty.  I always check my messages through my SMS MMS icon on my phone.

    Thanks for the tips

  • Texts of send fine blackBerry Smartphones, but do not...

I am able to send text messages and others get them almost instantly, but when they send me a room it takes a long time, or doesn't come at all in. Also, if I do get one, it still says "not found", and I have to get it back. Can I do to solve this problem? Thank you

PIN messages are a message from BlackBerry to BlackBerry. If you go to Options | Status you will find the identification number of the device. So if you are in the Messages, click the menu button, you can select PIN compose and type to PIN someone else to send them a message.

I don't know which operator you but not your signal show as EDGE, 1 X, or something else?

Try re-registering your device. Go to Options | Advanced options | Host routing table. Select the "BOLD" entry, click on the menu button and choose to register now. See if you get an email of record. Subsequently, reset the device once more.

  • Links E-mail in plain text rather than HTML blackBerry Smartphones

I have a BB Curve 8310 and recently updated for the new OS 4.5 in an effort to try to receive emails with links buried in HTML, not plain text. I receive many emails with multiple links buried in the Organization and spend most of my time to scroll rather than read. This can be very frustrating when you try to read e-mail in pieces around all the code in the link. Any help? Or am I just screwed?

Will have to return the directory service, or remove and readd the accounts to get the HTML option.

  • Removal of the standard SMS app on my Storm blackBerry Smartphones

I recently came across another SMS / MMS app for my storm known as crunchSMS. I fell in love with this app and it replaced the standard SMS app that comes installed on the Blackberry Storm and everytme I get a text message, it appears in crunchSMS and the standard SMS app, instead of standard SMS app to get rid of the messages that I receive, I was wondering if it was possible to remove the standard SMS off my Storm app. Any help would be most appreciated.

There is not a way to remove that. You can hide the icon but if you do not have to see. If you select the icon and click the menu button, you can choose to hide.

  • Tone of reminder for SMS, Voice Mail, missed calls blackBerry Smartphones

I probably forget something obvious, but I can't find the settings necessary for a tone of "reminder" for incoming SMS, missed calls or voicemail messages. In other words, setting a tone that repeated at designated intervals (maybe 5 or 10 minutes) until I have acknowledge receipt of an incoming message or missed call. For example, I often find that I'll be out of earshot of my BB when a text SMS arrives so I don't the original key. The rest LED flashes but it is easy to miss. It is a common feature to most cell phones. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction! I visited the site of the developer ( http://www.bellshare.com ) and my question on their user forum. In a matter of a few minutes, a member of the community suggested that I look into a different bellshare called «BerryBuzz» application As it tuns, that's exactly what I needed. It includes all the features that I want (and more) and couldn't be easier to use. This will certainly be the best $5 I've ever spent on applications of BB 3rd party :-)

I guess I just want to know how can I keep my SMS txt - box cleaning that it self... I would be VERY happy to help!

    STAY AND BE BLESSED!

It seems that the unit may be out of memory.

Can you check under Options | Status and take note of your free file number. Then reset the unit by removing the battery and 1 min and replace it and let the device restarts. After that he did check and see if your free file number has increased.

Also do you have a lot of third party applications on the device that you don't need? If so you can do in the Options | Advanced options | Applications and delete those you no longer need.
