Text tool moved to 90º on me

I opened a PDF for editing text of a job and my text tool got spanked in the process... Now, whenever I'm going to create a new text box (even in a new document) I'm creating 90 ° rotated text. The text itself is not rotated within the box, it's the text box itself is rotating. Even starting a line by Point text starts to write the words down. I have no idea what set, what preference or what little box is checked somewhere which automatically turns my text fields of 90 °! ?

Here's the new configuration document:

This is the NORMAL text tool. I created the text box and start typing. The text starts from the bottom and written vertically.

Here's my character, paragraph settings. There is no style applied to the text...

Here is the same effect when you use the text of Point (is the right word - just click once on the artboard with the text tool instead of dragging an area).

I can use the rotation tool to fix the problem... but it is a bad behavior by default! Anyone have any ideas!

Once you get the moving dotted line, you have already committed the text.
Try again a bit more slowly:

    1 horizontal text tool

    2. tap on the screen

    3. review your Options bar (top panel), where you can select the font, size, etc. On the right is Cancel and Commit.

    4. There are at least three ways to commit text.

    a. the validation button

    b. press the numeric keypad

    c. quick replacement of tools

    5. Once you post the text, the button disappears. Because you make a selection, you can fill the selection, but you cannot change the text because you did the pixels on which layer you happen to be on. Pay attention to your layers if you choose to work this way. The mobile dotted lines in your screen shot means that you have already committed the text, so that the button is gone.

  • type of CS5.5 Illustrator editable, no selectable with the text tool

Hi people, working on a poster in Illustrator. Added the type of area, using the text tool. Now I would like to increase the size of a single line. I can't select or change any type with the text tool. I have moved into a new layer, registered, closed type Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4).) Looked in preferences, in which case there is a problem. No luck.

Furthermore, I don't see two handles when selecting the tool more. Don't know if that is related.

  • Fireworks crashes / hangs when you use the text tool

    Mac Octocore > OSX 10.6.1

    Master Collection > Fireworks CS4

First, I noticed the change to text box. Then Fireworks CS4 would freeze during one of the following:

    • Resize grouped text

    • Moving text box

    • Click on the text box to edit with the text tool

    • Double-click the text box to change the pointer tool

So I started a new file, but met with the same result. Thus, Fireworks CS4 is currently useless if the text is necessary. I can create vector objects, but simply by clicking on the canvas (or by clicking on the fonts menu) with the tool Fireworks CS4 text instantly gel. I had similar problems with Fireworks CS3 edition, but if I started a new file, I was at least able to reuse the text tool and type. Now, I can't even recreate the file. I have to give up Fireworks and using a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator before my schedule gets even further behind.

I am at a total loss.

  • The mouse cursor changes to hand instead of the text tool when I hover over the text.

Normally whenever I have fly over the text in an e-mail or on the web, in order to highlight to copy and paste, the mouse cursor becomes a text tool.  However, now every time I have fly over the text, it remains on the hand tool.  Whenever I click on the mouse button, there just cause the hand to shake.  I can then move the page and everything I want to get off.  The only problem is, I want to highlight the text with the text tool, not handle the page with the hand.  My question is how to change the mouse cursor to get the text tool when it flies over text?

  • TEXT TOOL IS GRAYED OUT IN THE PAINTING, HOW TO ENABLE IT?

Sometimes, the text tool is not available when editing in paint, as well in the tools and the Tools drop down icon. How do to it available?

Have you checked that your zoom is 100%?

The MS Paint text feature is not available until you have your photo on a 100% zoom. Anything else and it will be gray on the text bar.

    After:

When I make a new document, which is no longer there. Do I need to turn on? If this is the case, please let me know.

    Hi Mary,

If you click and type you have point text and you will have a line when you edit it.

If you drag and type you will have text of paragraph and will not be a line when you edit it.

In CC, you can convert text to Point in paragraph text in the Type menu.

If you have something else, please post a screen shot with your insertion point in the text, so we can better help!

  • Pan using the text tool

Just seen elsewhere asked on another forum

Is it possible for a panoramic image using the text tool, I know you can use the Alt key in Illustrator, but it doesn't seem to be an option in Photoshop.

    Hello

On a Mac, while the cursor is in a text box, you will need to hit: Shift + Option + command + SPACEBAR.

Who holds the key 4. I guess you can map it in Photoshop keyboard shortcode preferences.

  • Text tool: < enter > Causes wide line spacing

Sometimes when I type in the text with the text tool and I touched < entry > for a line break, line break is single-spaced, you expect when entering text in any text editor.

But often hitting < Enter > causes a line break, which is about six times larger than the font size. Weird.

How can I cause the tool text always acknowledge < Enter > as a single space, compared to the size of the font.

Change the line spacing of the character Panel. In the example below, the type, the size is 12pt and the leader 14pt (12/14).

  • Why the text tool does not work?

whenever I choose the text tool that doesn't work. It allows me to create the bar, but the curosor doesn't even blink. I type and its Blanck. I hit accept the test I typed shows on the layer, but not on the screen, I need help. I've even updated, reinstalled. I need help I am ready to throw my laptop. Please someone

Is this a new problem with an old facility?

Or a new facility and the Type of tool has never worked?

What is the size of the image in pixels and resolution?  Something that sometimes happens is that people get the wrong units and I think they are pixel setting when it is in fact centimeters.  If you have a low resolution game, like the default 72 dpi, which can cause the tiny text, it might as well be invisible.  This is particularly problematic when the Type is set on Points.  To test simply do a new document with reasonable proportions.  that is 1000 x 1000 pixels, 300 dpi

Another test is to select the text layer and use free transform, or zoom so you can see if you have a small bounding box.

If this isn't the question and the text color is not the same as the background, then...

First step is to reset the preferences.  (The relocation does not overwrite the preferences file).

    Also try resetting subject tools.

Then uninstall Photoshop and use the cleaning tool before reinstalling.

The text tool is glued on all uppercase. How can I fix? It is not the keyboard or the choice of font. Thank you.

Reset the text tool to see if that solves it. In older versions of the program, look for a small arrow at the top left, on the tool options bar. Click on & reset. On the newer versions, look for a box with lines inside on the right on the options bar. Click on & reset.

If that fixed it, reset the default preferences. In more recent versions, go to Edition > Preferences > General and looking for this:

  • Text tool returns to the default colors

I must have hit a wrong button or something. From now, every time I have create a new text, Illustrator forget the color I originally selected and assigns default black.

So, if I select the text tool, then hit green, then click type, the color turns to black. I add the text, and then select the color that I want, and then click on create a second text item, it switches to black.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Define the text the way you want and create a paragraph style. Then, as long as this paragraph style is selected in the palette, any new text will have this style applied.

That's how you should do it anyway, because it gives you the opportunity to update the style of the text at the same time.

  • element of Photoshop crashes when the text tool

A week ago my Photoshop Elements began to break up when I select the text tool.

Files that I've created in the past which contain text layers now open with a message "a problem reading layer 'text' [all the text was on the record] because of a program error." The existing pixel data will be there will substitute. Continue? »

When I press 'Continue' and either select the text to try to change, or try and add text, it blocks the program which stops immediately, creating an accident report. I copied the accident report, but it's super long, so I don't know if it makes sense to paste it here.

The same thing happens when I create new files and you want to add a text layer - it hangs and stops when I select the text tool. She makes my Photoshop Elements basically useless.

I don't understand why this is happening - I did not download new fonts or anything like that and I don't do anything different than usual when you work on files. I run Photoshop elements 11 on Mac OS X 10.10.1

    Suggestions appreciated!

Sometimes problems PSE to make it out no reason apparent and which are not fixed by the reset tool. In this case, it might be that the preferences file is corrupted.

To restore this file in PES 11 and later versions: Edit > preferences > general and click on "Preferences of Reset on the next launch.
