the archiving server
We just migrated applications 7.1 to 11.1. The server that hosted 7.1 will be downgraded to in a few weeks. I want to make a backup of all applications on the Server 7.x and fix them. Could you please tell me how to do?I just tried this command on all cubes that I wanted to save. The file to archive output only the list of names of files in the app! No data! You are not sure if I understand any archive backup and recovery?
* + < code start > * _
CONNECTION < supervisor id > < password > on server71.americas.com;
COIL on '\\server71.americas.com\essbase\appfiles\Migration\inf\BackupOldServer.inf ';
CHANGE the database ARCHIVE of START SalesAPP.SalesDB file "D:\\Appfiles\\ARCHIVE\\SalesApp_SalesDB";
Exit;
* + < end of code > * _
Also another thing to note is that there is a disk partitions on the old server which will be decommissioned. But on the new server, there is no any which disk partition so I'm not sure archive created the old server (7.1) can be restored to the new server (11.1). Help, please!
Thank you!!
the only thing your ordering of archive begin done on the server is to make the database to read only for some backup software could check in. As a better solution especially if all your data on your databases is loaded at the zero level would be to perform at a level zero export of all your data and then save the scripts of calc, reports, outlines of rule files, etc.. If you have export the column format, you could even bring in some parts of databases with rules files. A couple of caveats
1. it will not work on databases ASO in 7, you must back up the directory
2. If your database is very large, it could be problemic, although zero level data export is only much smaller
3. If you are loading to levels other than zero (as for budgeting), then you need to export all levels of data. If zero, then you would just reagg the re-imported database.
In any case, I would make sure that if all of this is backed up on tape, retension period is long enough for your needs. Before the server is out of service, I suggest you also a test they can actually restore the files. I saw him too often that files are not recoverable

Refresh the database archives Server
Hi all
Our company intends to perform on the creation of a database archive (not physical or logic of database). The main objective of the archives database server must have a backup of the current production base and preserve for future use if necessary.
They think also about archiving and purging of old data from the production (for example for 5-6 years worth of data). Arhived data and purged are still available on the server to archive and when he is questioned by using the user interface, they can recover the data that are already archived/served on the production database.
Now, here are my questions.
1 is it possible?
2. If so, how to update the archive server data? Data will come from the Production database. Incremental backups can RMAN be used?
3 data pump or Import/export are also possible to update the archive server?
OS - Redhat 5 64 bit
Application - R12 12.0.6
Database - 10g R2 10.2.0.5 64-bit

Yes, or apply manually archivelog files on regular basis.
3 data pump or Import/export are also possible to update the archive server?
No, only full import/export is supported, and it is a time consuming task.

I can't find my old emails that is to say the last 4 years e-mails have disappeared. I can't see in the 'archives' folder list and also in my list of "local" files
I recently formatted my system. It causes this problem? Is there anyway to recover my emails?Assuming that really format you your hard drive.
Can erase you every single entry to a file, message, photo, program, document, etc. When you select format you get warnings on this subject.
The format is the last thing you want to do without going through a backup of your personal and important files.Local folders is automatically created when you installed Tbird.
And it is empty until you move something over there.
(Your former local folder with all its files and messages has been removed under format).Only messages that are still on your server (stbeehive.oracle.com) can be recovered.

How to synchronize only in the direction "Server computer" for one-off restoration?
A malware scan erased some of my addons. I want to restore it, but think that if I simply synchronize then the server will interpret it as if this new configuration is what I want (and so change the server). So, how can I make sure that sync is only from the server from my computer (hand)-?
Seems like a pretty fundamental question for me but I can not simply to find advice on this in the archives, etc.In case anyone is wondering, I ran the vacuum cleaner "Junkware Removal Tool" (or possibly "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware") and the addons that were removed were: anonymoX, Flash Video Downloader, thumbnail Zoom more among many others.
Thank you.
Thank you both for your kind replies. Philipp, if I understand it right, that would work there had not been this case that I had added bookmarks and other things I want to keep.
.
In any case, I decided that I will reinstall the addons are deleted manually (which unfortunately very probably means that I'm missing out on a few). The thing is, I fell on this issue before and at this time there resolved manually, so I expected at this time was a more general solution.
.
Nevertheless, thank you for your kind suggestions! -
How can I get old messages on the IMAP server
I used to be able to find years of mail but with IMAP, it seems to be limited to the last year. I hope that the mail from the previous year is still there! How do I retrieve old messages so I can check it on my drive (and search locally)?
Thank you
If you are using an IMAP account, what is on the server must be in your mailboxes. Go to the website of your provider's webmail and check that it matches. If you archive messages, look in the folder of the archive on your mac and on the webmail site.

Hello
If you try to enable the database, please make sure the SNA aligns with... In your case, controlfile raised YVERT YVERT/bass.
If you try to re-create the controlfile.
After you re-create the controlfile, you can run a fake recovery and open in resetlogs.
After you re-create the controlfile
SQL > restore database using backup controlfile until cancel;
SQL > alter database open resetlogs;
Thank you

Best location for the archived redo logs
Hello
I am OOF instructions and I want to make life for the DBA, that looks like my job easier.
So, as the title says what is the location of the "standard/Best Practice' for archived redo logs? particularly the dest_1 which is usually local on the same server
Thank you.
Hello
For you, I recommend the use of the Flash/fast recovery area.
Configuration of the archived of Redo Log locations
Oracle recommends that you use fast area recovery to an archive location, because the archived logs are managed automatically by the database. The file names generated for the newspapers archived in the fast recovery area correspond to Oracle managed files and are not determined by the parameter
LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT
. Whatever archiving scheme you choose, it is always advisable to create multiple copies of archived redo logs.Ref 1:

I am unable to get ios mobile to connect to the Office Server, what can I do?
The number of the server is the same on mobile than on approx. desktop Mobile application gives an error message stating cannot download archive server. What can I do to fix this?
I assume you mean the developer app PhoneGap and the desktop PhoneGap app?
If so:
- Your device must be connected to the same network as your development computer.
- Make sure that the versions of the PGDevApp and PGDesktopApp are up to date.
- Try with a freshly created project - if it works, something can be upward with your particular project.
- Add ports that pgdesktopapp uses to your firewall settings so that data can flow freely. You can temporarily disable your firewall to see if that's the problem.
- You may need to add an exception to your antivirus software. Again, you can temporarily disable the AV to see if it is causing your problem.

How to recover missing the mounting point on the standby server
Environment: Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE on Solaris
I have a Production database with a physical standby created and run in our remote data center and this configuration worked well for several years.
Recently, I had 2 two new mount points, added to the Production Server but unfortunately do not have their created on the standby server. I did not remapped mounting points, so the layout is identical between the Production and standby. At least it was.
I created several new data files on the Production Server using the new mount points.
Once I realized my mistake, I had additional mounting points created on the standby server.
I STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT = AUTO on the day before, but obviously the new data file was not created since mount points were not available when they were added in the Production.
Without the mount points and therefore the new data files, on the eve, archive logs are not applied on the day before. There are currently about 150 newspapers that must be applied.
Question: Can I copy the files of existing data from the Production Server to the standby server and Data Guard will know which archives newspapers must be applied to standby data files to bring them current with the files of Production data?
If this is not the case, how can I get the new data files created on the eve and a return to synchronization with the Production?
Thanks a lot for your help!
-gary
Once the mount points are created on the eve, manually resume the managed recovery. The day before would have abandoned managed recovery so you don't have to make it work again. The transaction that has been reproduced that requires mount points should not proceed. Given enough time, the wait will catch up to where it should be. If it's not fast enough, then use RMAN to roll forward the day before as indicated in a previous answer.
> Can I copy the existing data files on the Production Server to the standby server
N ° you can not do this.
See you soon,.

The archive logs shipped but more old logs do not applied...
Environment:
Oracle on Solaris 11.2.0.3 10.5
The Data Guard environment working fine for 6 months.
I recently had problems with disk space on the day before and had to copy some files from newspapers of the archives to a mount point different that had been shipped to the waiting, but not yet applied because I had to cancel the paper application process.
After having cleared the space problem and start log shipping and return application log on (change database recovery managed to sleep...) I have the new logs shipped but my watch is a bunch of log files behind. I can see it in the V$ ARCHIVED_LOG on intelligence, where the last seq # applied is 8083 in my case and the more current seq # is currently more than 8200.
I have all the archives always connects in 'other' the mount point and can move back the directory the correct archive according to needs.
Since the next file that the application requires is seq # 8084, I moved this file in the/arch directory awaits the day before 'see' and apply it. No luck.
By searching in the alert log just before after execution of the 'alter database recover managed standby database disconnect;' I see the following:
and also:Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 sequence 8084
and just below that:Fetching gap sequence in thread 1, gap sequence 8084-8084
I thought I read in the docs that the FAL_SERVER and the FAL_CLIENT are no longer needed. (?)FAL[client]: Error fetching gap sequence, no FAL server specified
I also found a CKPT script that lists information about DG Environment. For the primary side to hang on, but the day before one produces this output:

What should I do to get the old logs to check-in begins to apply again?
The alert log says something about "Adding value to the media", but I don't know why I would need that since I have the log files itself.
Any help is appreciated.
Also, I spend a significant amount of time to read through this forum and many articles on the web but couldn't find exactly the solution I was looking for.
Thank you very much!!

alter database register logfile 'full path for the 8074 sequence.
and check select message from v$ dataguard_status;

Archive log deletion with no backup of the archive logs
I suffer from enormous size archive of the newspaper. In my previous post, I asked for help. I almost 480 GB archive log every day in our database of 11 2 under redhat linux 5.8 GR. Now, if you please help me in another case.
If I take backup of archive logs and run delete archivelog everything until ' sysdate-1' with each backup database of day how it affects. " In my opinion there should be no problem in that I have the last incremental backup and recovery 1 days archive log in archivelog destination. If I do not archive log backups to how it will be different. Help, please.>
Hello
Sir, I know how to remove. But in my opinion delete up to sysdate-1 and taking no backup of the Archives of newspapers will
no effect. Is in my opinion is right or wrong, that is the question.What I read in your original post, is that you take a daily incremental backup - Yes? I'm assuming that you also take
a full backup on a regular basis (Sunday?).I was working on the assumption that the foregoing is available? I worked on a project where installation has been similar. We
tested regularly backups - I hope that you do the same thing?What we used to do was FTP (script Unix - cron job - if you Google you will find Python or Perl to do the same thing - that is)
what I wanted to, but was cancelled - very 1980, anyway) the archived redo logs on to a specific computer that holds only these files.
After FTP "d - they have been removed from the server, freeing up space.Now, you say you have TB 0.5 per day - while more than a week, you will need a machine with ~ 3 TB of disk - if you can get a kind
the scenario as this place and running, then you will have both your incremental backup and your archived redo logs for the last
24 hours and the full backup with recovery archived records dating back to this full backup. You can also always archive on tape if
suits. So, you will have redundant coverage - 'belt and braces' as the Americans say.But, to answer your question directly, "take no backup of archive logs have no effect" - that is true - it
will not affect the operation of the database server, but if I were you, I would hang on to enough archived redo log to return to the
last backup. That's just my humble OPINION.HTH,
Paul...
