The best of YAHOO. on Firefox extension - nag screen

The issue began a couple of weeks. When I visit the Yahoo! News (news.yahoo.com) website, I get a nag screen to install an extension called the best of YAHOO. on Firefox. I don't want to install the extension, so I have to click Cancel to continue. The nag screen continues to pop whenever I try to navigate to another point of press. I would like to know how to disable this nag screen permanently. I've attached a screenshot of the nag screen. Thank you in advance for your help!

I tried to empty the cache and delete cookies below. None of them helped. However, I have a click right on the screen of horse and selected see the source of the page. I found the entry identifier div = "yset-search-upsell-container". Further down, I selected the entry and use AdBlock more to hide. Then I went back to news.yahoo.com and clicked on several articles and the nag popup does not appear. I hope it's a permanent solution!

    Hi STALMIKI,

You should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle. It should give you all the information you need!

    If this does not work:

    1. Enter about: config in the address bar
    2. Click I'll be careful, I promise you if prompted
    3. In the filter field, type Startup
    4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    5. Delete the text string, and then click OK
    6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to check that it worked.

    Hope this helps!

  • the PC is restarted, all firefox extensions are removed! # aargh

Since upgrading to Windows 10... Every time I restart my PC, I lose all of my firefox extensions, plug-ins are OK just the extensions are lost...

I'm going back to IE11 and permanently remove firefox... < < you have not all such extensions > > is a joke?

It's frustrating. Some of the programs which run at Windows Startup 'cleaning' can change the settings of your browser. Can you make sure that they do not affect the settings of Firefox files?

The next time that happens, could you check if there is a problem of a broken modules page or if extensions were actually removed? One of the reasons for the empty page add-on to have a list of extensions would be a corruption of database extensions Firefox. You can force Firefox to rebuild the files as follows:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename these files you will find:

    • compatibility.ini to something like compatibility - old.ini
    • Extensions.ini to something like extensions - old.ini
    • Extensions.JSON to something like extensions - old.json
    • Extensions.SQLite to something like extensions - old.sqlite (may not exist depending on how long you have used this settings folder)

When you start Firefox back up again, he should study your profile folder and other files to rebuild the list. He will probably ask to approve you some of the extensions. Once things settle down, could you check back the page modules.

Reappear extensions - or are they really gone?

Also, you can start your profile folder Firefox containing your backup settings. This article has tips on it: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

  • What is the best way to manage fields on a screen to draw in paint () or manage through managers and their layout() method?

    Hi all,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm kind of confused because of my friends on my code examination. I just thought that this forum is the right place have the answer

I develop a very simple screen but I m using feeders to quidon all the placement of objects on the screen.

I has a high HFM which has 2 tags that is exterme right and the other is on the far left of the hfm screen.this is added to the screen

There is a value for money including two labels and two basicEditFields.

There is an another HFM which has two button in what should be at the centre of the screen.

This button HFM is add in the optimization of the resources that are directly added to the screen

Now all the alignment of the manipulated by the sublayout methods of the manager.

According to my friends, I should HAV done this VIA object not via too many Manager and their layouts...

I want to know are right? or you can suggest a better way?

    Concerning

In General, having too many managers slows down things. It is generally recommended to have as little as possible nesting Manager.

That being said, your friend is too complicate things. Managers are there for a reason and you use them for good reasons (to quickly, glancing at your description, this can be done via a single Manager custom without using a lot of nesting of the optimization of the resources/HFM).

Managers will take care of the tune-up, scrolling, etc.. Fact all through painting is stupid for this use case.

With the help of de facto managers save time, makes it easily manageable code, reduced the number of errors and makes things simpler to support/extend in the future.

There are cases where the surrogate object and made everything yourself is preferable, is not. For this particular case, your friend is wrong.

  • To get the best policy, I opened Firefox while hitting the SHIFT key that OK?

When I installed Norton it changed the font for the worse. Norton could not help so I tried the solution above and it seems to help. I just want to be sure that in doing so I did not open my computer to viruses. I'm a little paranoid on the subject

Hi, it's OK - as this, start Firefox like this, but what you are in Safe Mode, which is a special mode of Firefox, which can be used to troubleshoot and solve problems, so you should not normally need, or run Firefox like this.

It sounds as if there is something related to Norton which is the cause of the problem, you need to study.

  • What is the best practice for disk hard extension for VM?

My client asked D drive expansion for 100 GB for VM is 2008. I have a few questions to this

    1. can I use HDD for the extension (using the same disk and even Datastore1)?

Ex: D drive has now 400GB, if I add an another 100 GB on the same hard drive, it will go 500 GB

    2. can I use different hard drive for expansion (creating new HARD drive and using the same datastore1)

Ex: Now a 400 GB drive, created the new HARD drive and added 100 GB using the same Datastore1

    3. can I use different and expanded to different hard drive Datastore2 hard drive?

Ex: Car has now 400 GB, new HDD created with 100 GB of different datastore2

    (1) Yes, you can use the same disc - and it will be expanded to 500 GB - you must use the disk manager in 2008 to extend the drive to make space available

2 & 3) Yes, you can create a new HARD drive and add to the machine and it can be on another store of VMFS data

Firefox refuses to keep the changes I made to remove Yahoo.
Remove all browsers except Google - next time you start it again Yahoo!
No other browser has been replaced, with the exception of Yahoo.

It's very 'big brother', which I don't expect Firefox.

After spending hours fighting it, I'm at the "tip" of let - pun.

It seems you might have a bit of malicious software on this PC. I see an extension named Hub of results which is known as bearer of Malware.

  • Firefox becomes very slow with the all new Yahoo Mail

Problems with the all-new Yahoo! Mail version: everything worked very well, but since the two latest updates of Firefox I started to notice that Yahoo was consuming a lot of CPU (it varies from 35% to 40% and is on the top list of programs CPU consumption) and the browsing experience is not so pleasant - slow. If I quit Firefox and reopen it, becomes faster, but after about 30 min slow / high CPU consumption again. Then I had to go back to the classic version of Yahoo Mail and everything works fine and consumed less CPU. Did I live it? Is it a question of Yahoo Mail? Is there a solution? (Macbook Pro early 2011 / Mac OS X 10.7.4 / Firefox 12.0) Thank you!

Try to start Firefox in safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, customizations, hardware acceleration, etc., temporarily for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker.

  • When firefox crashes of a memory leak, why you can not display the offending tab? Improvement: a task manager as Manager of the display use by tab tab / extension.

I generally keep windows with multiple tabs open. It is possible that this causes more accidents because the number of pages multiplies any effect that the majority of users with less pages/tabs would suffer. I had problems with Firefox blocks Manager Windows that I looked into this question a lot of variables to track tasks to help. Bottom line, the accident is caused by increasing the memory usage may be caused by the flash add on which fact much IO reads at least a page/tab incriminated could some sites use flash to read my disc without permission, and there is a leak memory in a flash of code uses the sites? I searched the Web for a task manager as add-on for Firefox tabs that would determine the offending page/tab/add-on/extension. This seems an excellent idea which has not been implemented. Since I am a developer, I would be happy to implement, but would like some advice because my knowledge of your product is only at the level of the user.

There are currently: page of memory that is actively developed. A "task manager" of all kinds is also in the works as far as I KNOW. If you want to help, your best bet is to find the bug there is Bugzilla. If you have the skills coding I can help you in touch with a mentor - let me know.

  • The new Amazon firefox extension prevents the redirection.

Of course, this happened a couple of days. My firefox, which is always updated, suddenly stopped displaying many Web sites. The problem was how a page looks completely WHITE. After a bit of investigation, including a few cycles to uninstall/reinstall, I realized that all the pages of the problems were trying to perform a redirect using a meta refresh tag. The info on the site of support (here) says this was related to the configuration of the browser, but I got the tag configuration properly set to false (the default value of value, which * allows * redirection). I actually tried to adjust for real and, curiously, when I did I got then the message from browser saying that the redirect was blocked, and when I clicked "allow" it went thru! To make a long story a little shorter, the problem has proved to be the EXTENSION of FIREFOX AMAZON OFFICIAL - who has been updated on 10 December. When I removed this extension and restarted my firefox, everything started working properly again. I notified Amazon of the problem, but I thought that it would be important to post this notice here, as well, because I imagine that other users probably have the same problem.

If you encounter this problem (and your "blockautorefresh" configuration setting is correctly set to false), click on the Tools menu (right bars, upper horizontal) and select "Add-ons." On this screen, the tab 'Extensions'. If it shows the 'official Amazon firefox extension' you need to remove this. It told me to restart the browser at this time here, but I did, just to be sure. Which corrects the problem.

For the record, I am running Windows 7, 64-bit with service pack 1 operating system. And my firefox is up-to-date with version 42.0.

The rest of my comment is not correctly displayed for a reason, so this is where, without the newline that clearly has a problem: If you encounter this problem (and your "blockautorefresh" configuration setting is correctly set to false), click on the Tools menu (right bars, upper horizontal) and select "Add-ons." On this screen, the tab 'Extensions'.

  • I'll do a clean install on a blank hard drive upgrade but want to keep my Firefox settings - what is the best way to do this?

I'll do an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. I will be installing Windows 7 on a new empty hard drive. I want to keep my bookmarks Firefox and Ad Ons. What is the best way to do it. Thank you for your help.

    Hello

The best thing for you to do is to make a backup of your Firefox profile. It is a folder that stores bookmarks and Add-ons that you can then add to the reinstalled Firefox on your new operating system.

Learn you more about the Firefox profile folder, how to backup and restore, here.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at in another option for you.

  • I have Firefox installed 42.0 and works correctly. Yahoo on Firefox indicates this, but Yahoo on Chrome keeps asking me to upgrade to the latest Firefox

I use mainly Firefox and Chrome only as an emergency backup. I still have backup third IE and Yahoo by default, thus opening 'IE' takes me directly to Yahoo.com. In Chrome and this 'fake IE', Yahoo says to upgrade to the latest Firefox. I even updated a second time to 42.0 Firefox but Chrome and 'fake IE' Yahoo wants the latest update me of Firefox. In Firefox, there is none that question. If so, can or should be done?

    airider said

And I don't know how Firefox/Yahoo and non Yahoo/Chrome or IE/Auto-Yahoo acknowledges what version I am running.

Browsers generally identify themselves to Web sites. If you want to see what your browsers send, you can use my test page - the "user agent" string is displayed in red:

    https://jeffersonscher.com/RES/jstest.php

It is a little confusing: browsers may raise on behalf of other browsers to inform Web sites that they can deal with the pages designed for other browsers.

But browsers do not send a list of ALL of your software on your computer - thank God - so if you visit a site with chrome, it cannot know which version of Firefox, you have, or even if you have Firefox at all.

There is an exception to this absolute statement, called Flash Local Storage Objects, sometimes called super-cookies. If you visit a site in the browser F and allow the site to use Flash and store data on your computer, then when you visit the same site in the browser to C, if you allow the site to use the Flash, it can read these data and know that you have already visited and connect your two browsers.
