The card Module allows to display the locations of the pictures in the library?

A lot of my photos are geotagged, but only a few (relatively speaking) were keyworded with place names. In LR is it possible to use the card Module to display the locations of the pictures in the library? Which would be quite easy to find all photos taken in a given area.

I read the help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/help/maps-module.html, but, it seems that photos in the film appear in the card Module, not all the photos in the photo library. And I guess you can not add 300 000 + pictures of the film to make them appear in the map display.

Hello

Greetings!

Yes, the photos must be in the card module to mark in the card module.

To put 300 000 images on film, you put all the images in a collection.

  • Card module.  How to select a location and see all the pictures together in the library or the film?

Hello, I want to click on a point on the map where I have several pictures.  I want the selected photos will be displayed ~ set ~ view film or the library.

I took pictures in the same place in different years.  But I don't see this side of the other.  I expected that it works as a filter and show only pictures of the location of the selected card.  Am I missing something?  What I really need to scroll beyond all images that are not of this place to get to the next picture?

    Thank you!

    Solved, sort of.

You will need to zoom in on the map so that the point of interest.  Then click in the gray bar of 'Location filter' at the top 'Visible on the map.  This will show the photos associated with that point.  In other words, you can't just click on a point to see all her pictures.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Locations saved in the card module not migrated

    Hello

I copied the mac to PC win10 Lightroom Catalog.

Everything seems fine, except that my locations stored in the card module are not there.

    Where these are stored?

I looked through the tables with a browser of SQLite, but I have not found where location data is stored.

    Thank you

    Stefano

If you have the store pre-configured with the box checked catalog then you would have it transferred with the catalogue.

Now you can simply migrate Mac locations for windows in the following locatioon:

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Locations------my position.

This message indicates that you have not permission in writing to the destination directory.

    So:

    1. Determine the destination directory... go in the Lightroom import dialog box and note the location of this directory specified on the right side under "Destination".
    2. Go to your operating system and change the permissions on this exact directory have WRITE permission.
  • GPS coordinates in the search for the card Module box

Can you put GPS coordinates in the search box of card module CC Lightroom? If so, what is the format? Support said it was for the names. I thought that I used to be able to do about 6-8 months ago.

You can put the lat/long coordinates in the map search box:

In my view, that he accepts all formats that Google agrees (although I have not tried all).

Why I see pictures when I click on the tab all the photos above, which do not show in the tree on the G: drive?

DSC_2429 is in the shown locaton and present in all the Photos, but there is no folder "Tulsa"... "in the tree.

The left pane is a "choose one". "All photos" are just that. 'G' is a different option.

Lightroom is not a file Explorer. He knows only the drives and files that you have imported the photos of. If LR shows not all of the photos that are on your hard drive, it is because you did not import all photos.

If LR shows you a photo in "all photos" but do not show it in the folder you think he is in, go to "all photos", select the image, right click "view in the library folder. This will show you where LR think the picture is.

    Hi VickiC_Georgia,

Expand it please the metadata Panel in the library module

Then select Exif and IPTC rather than leave default

You could then view the file size.

Try turning off the GPU. Go in Edition > Preferences > Performance (Lightroom > preferences > Performance on a Mac) and uncheck the box use Graphics Processor.

  • What device / gadget will track my GPS and create a log for the card module?

    Hello!

My camera does not have GPS, and it's a pain to manually find everything if I want to record on the card module.  I recently saw a video saying that I could wear something with me at the same time, and this would create a newspaper that I could download to lightroom and he would marry the two sets of information together.  I don't know what to look for or to start google gadget.  I have a garmin car sat nav, but I think this is a big bulky to carry around (and I only am unaware it would create a newspaper). I would like the price up the cheapest possible option for this see if worth it. Anyone know what kind of things I need to get, or can recommend you a cheap camera.

    Thank you!

This came up several times recently, while I recorded and released a video to demonstrate:

  • How can I search for and work in the card module without losing my selection

I'm going through my old photographs which predate the geolocation and adding my best guess as to their sites via the card module, but I'm frustrated.

My biggest fear is selections.  In the library module, I look at and find a set of photographs that were taken at the same place and I select them.  I then go to the card module and move found, sometimes look, the place where the photographs were taken.  Now I'll return to drop the selection in the map and... OH NO.... There is no selection.  Double angst is I click back in the library and I scrolled to the beginning of my group of photographs.

Deselect photos is the biggest mistake of the UI that Lightroom is making in this sequence.  I wonder if there is something I can do to avoid it being may have a second method of a quick temporary group of photographs.

The other related question I have, is if someone has a suggestion of how to mark these photos as the type of GPS data.  for example, it could come from the camera, it could come through a trace log, or maybe it's just my best guess.  Maybe it is already possible to determine.

When you find the photos you want to taken in one place, select them, then put them in a quick Collection (press B)

Select the quick Collection, then go to the card with the film Module running. You will then be able to work ONLY with this series of photos that are taken in the same place

I have the most obvious example is a picture with a radial filter which seems to disappear just when I move to the library.

When I export the image JPG applied development settings.

It is not just this image that is affected, it is only the most extreme example.

I have a very slight change to offensive images (new crop) and they are now the same in the library and to the point!

Could you please close Lightroom once and then reopen it.

It could be a problem where previews in Lightroom are not up-to-date.

  • Nikon D800 taken with Sandisk extreme raw files more 32 GB SDHC card was corrupted. Able to preview in the library of Lightroom4.4, but not able to import or transfer the files from the card to the computer. Any ideas on how to save the library in Lig win

Hi, I shot a few photos December 31 night mode RAW Nikon D800 and extreme as well as Sandisk card SDHC 32 GB. Looks like the card got some errors of memory so not able to transfer the files from the card to the computer. However, I am able to view the photos through Lightroom ver 4.4 library, but when I tried to import them, it gives me an error message indicating this file cannot be read.

Is it possible to save the photos to the "library window" in lightroom overcoming the card read errors?

    Thanks in advance

If you see the photos in the library module, the photos are already imported. If I there are thumbnails in the import dialog box, that means the jpg display embedded in the Raws are ok, although the raw data itself is corrupted.

You may be able to save the jpgs shipped with this: Instant RAW JPEG
