The cluster node IP address 3 MD 3220i

I'll put up a new md3220i for our network at TAFE.

We use 3 new dell servers with 4 cards of each title of guests. The hosts are labeled HV - 1, HT-2 and HT-3.
I tried a few intellectual property regimes, but I can't wrap my head around it as I'm only a beginner completely. That's what I'm trying to achieve.

The San and iscsi port 0 each raid controller is disabled as we have only 3 guests, so we thought we would use ports 1, 2 and 3 back.

On servers:

NIC1 is used to connect to a switch that is connected to the domain and the internet.

NIC2 is attached to the same switch using a different subnet, it will be a private network for migration.

NIC3 is connected to the first controller of the SAN.

NIC4 is connected to the second controller of the SAN.

For the moment, the SAN iscsi ports are set to the default IP.

Controller port 0 0 -.

Controller 0 Port 1 - 192.168.131.101/24 9K Jumbo frames

Controller 0 Port 2 - 192.168.132.101/24 9K Jumbo frames

Controller 0 Port 3 - 192.168.133.101/24 9K Jumbo frames

Controller 1 Port 0.

Controller Port 1 1 - 192.168.131.102/24 9K Jumbo frames

Controller 1 Port 2 - 192.168.132.102/24 9K Jumbo frames

Controller 1 Port 3 - 192.168.133.102/24 9K Jumbo frames

HV - 1 - NIC1 - 10.60.64.31/23 (domain)

HV - 1 - NIC2 - 192.168.10.1/24 (migration)

HV-1 - NIC3 - (1 1 controller port)

HV-1 - NIC4 - (2 2 controller port)

HV - 1 - NIC1 - 10.60.64.32/23 (domain)

HV - 2 - NIC2 - 192.168.10.2/24 (migration)

HV - 2 - NIC3 (1 2 controller port)

HV - 2 - NIC4 (2 2 controller port)

HV - 3 - NIC1 - 10.60.64.33/23 (domain)

HV - 3 - NIC2 - 192.168.10.3/24 (migration)

HV-3 - NIC3 - (1 3 controller port)

HV-3 - NIC4 - (controller port 2-3)

I hope it's understandable. Also if anyone can list the ISCSI sessions that would be great. Please tell me that if I need to change anything, I'm still learning.

Thank you, Scott.

It will not work.

The basic rules of network/IP implementation is that a server does not (cannot) speak to 2 isolated networks that share the same subnet.

A direct connection cable is actually a micro network. This effect cannot be a server to connect to the controller 0 port 1 (192.168.131.101) as well as the controller 1 port 1 (192.168.131.102) of 2 different cards network at the same time without going through a switch.

The easy solution is this:

Server 1:

1 NETWORK interface card: LAN (management + VM-to-LAN)

NIC 2: live migration + cluster heartbeat (should not be on the same switches as your LAN (get a decent 1Gbit switch that you can dedicate for live migration and the pulsation of cluster))

NIC 3: 192.168.130.10-> connected to the controller port 0 0 (192.168.130.101)

NIC 4: 192.168.131.10-> connected to the controller 1 port 1 (192.168.131.102)

Then the server 2 goes like this:

1 NETWORK interface card: LAN (management + VM-to-LAN)

NIC 2: live migration + cluster heartbeat (should not be on the same switches as your LAN (get a decent 1Gbit switch that you can dedicate for live migration and the pulsation of cluster))

NIC 3: 192.168.130.20-> connected to the controller 1 port 0 (192.168.130.101)

NIC 4: 192.168.131.20-> connected to the controller port 0 1 (192.168.131.102)

And Server 3 would be like this:

1 NETWORK interface card: LAN (management + VM-to-LAN)

NIC 2: live migration + cluster heartbeat (should not be on the same switches as your LAN (get a decent 1Gbit switch that you can dedicate for live migration and the pulsation of cluster))

NIC 3: 192.168.132.30-> connected to the controller port 0 2 (192.168.132.101)

NIC 4: 192.168.133.30-> connected to the controller 1 port 3 (192.168.133.102)

I used the "10" and "20" "30" as example IPs to help clarify. They can be really anything you want except 101 and 102.

Note that the example I provided works, but when virtualization with an iSCSI SAN, generally, I recommend to start at least 6 network ports and preferably 8:

-2 for LAN management (team)

-2 for VM-to-LAN (team)-> when you only total 6 ports network, combine that with the 2 for LAN management

-2 for the pace heart/cluster shared volume/live migration (team)

-2 for iSCSI (non-associated)

What is the cluster node and which is a member of the cluster?
    How to differentiate them?

    I agree with you all.
But note that a node is a server JVM. A large number of nodes can co-locate in the same machine. Entire application process or the server that is running software consistency is called a cluster node.
But Member and the cluster node is different concepts. Consistency is logically divided into clusters, services and caches. A cluster of coherence is a group of cluster nodes that share a group address, allowing you to communicate, the cluster nodes. Generally, a cluster node will join only a single cluster, but it is possible for a cluster node to join (membership) several different groups, using a different group for each cluster address.

  • P2V one resource to Cluster MS and not to the cluster nodes

    Hello!

We are looking to do a P2V on our file servers, which are all 2 node A / P SAN connected MS Cluster. I see articles where people work to convert the cluster nodes themselves and then have the MS Cluster running on ESX - this isn't what I want to do.

I've not seen any (covered by a research brief) mention of any attempt to make a virtual server Cluster MS. P2V conversion Looks like it is the best deal if it worked.

So I FS1 as the virtual resource with N1 and N2 as nodes.  Can I run a P2V of FS1 crowd for a disk system to capture all the action, then just RDM the SAN LUNS to the VM FS1 newly created? Or am I stuck with the creation of a third node, clustered, expelling the original, closing nodes cluster services and then rename or uses DNS to point to the FULL FS1 domain name?

    Thank you!

I know that sounds a good idea but any time
I tried P2V ING I ended up regretting the MSCS clusters. For the file
& Print sharing there is some direct negative side effects but for
The SQL cluster, it is very messy. You can not P2V the virtual server name
(FS1) directly, you must break the cluster and migrate the
individual nodes. But as I said it's a bad idea in any case.

If these are just some cluster file server then the easiest thing to do
is just export actions (they are just a registry key), build a new
clean the VM, attach the existing data as a RDM disk and import the
registry keys. Once your happy that it work, rename the machine as
the former name of virtual node.

  • [INS-06006] Connectivity SSH without password do not put in place between the following nodes.

    Hello

I'm currently building the cluster by RAC 11 GR 2. I try to install Oracle Grid Infrastructure Oracle Linux 6.4 (x86_64bit) machine - node1.abc.com.

I'm at the stage of the "Cluster Node Information" where I have to provide me with the list of nodes to be managed by the Oracle grid Infrastructure. Currently I have added just me - node1.abc.com with the name of the virtual IP address - node1 - vip.abc.com. The two host name and virtual IP addresses are registered on the DNS server - it is also installed on node 1. Before adding the second node2.abc.com, I was testing SSH connection but it fails. I clicked the [SSH_Connectivity...] button and in the OS Username (grid) and his password. When I press the [Setup] button, it pops up message successful "Able to establish connectivity SSH without password between selected nodes." But when I click on the [Test] button or the [next] button, I get error - ' connectivity [INS-06006] SSH without password, do not put in place between the following nodes: [node 1].» What is the problem and what exactly to do to avoid this error?

    Thank you

It was because I assigned a real static IP address for the second NIC eth1. With this affected YES wouldn't let you go to the next screen. So I had to remove NIC out of my laptop. But if eth1 is not resolved by the DNS name it also gives you errors. So I guess a correct functioning is I would sign up eth0 and eth1 to the DNS server but eth1 does not have real IP. Then I could go to the next screen.

When you run the TMSXE Setup Wizard can't connect to TMS by using its FULL VIP domain name. If I use each tms server name individually this works, but not when you use the cluster name or address VIP (behind F5 NLB)

I can connect to the site of TMS using the FULL name of the VIP

Don't know what else to check. Any help would be appreciated.

Note: All applications run on different Windows servers, even VLAN.

According to syslog, it seems that NTP uses IP addresses a lot for example 192.168.56.65:

    [root@vmoe1 network-scripts] # grep "56.65" var

    Mar 19 14:35 vmoe1 ntpd [1545]: listening on the interface #11 eth1:1, 192.168.56.65 #123 Enabled

    [root@vmoe1 network-scripts] #.

Can someone explain why 192.168.56.65 this IP address is used by eth1:2?

I found the reason why: IP addresses ending with 64, 65 and 66 are used by the listener to SCAN:

    [root@vmoe2 ~]# srvctl config scan
    SCAN name: vmoe-scan.localdomain, Network: 1/192.168.56.0/255.255.255.0/eth1

    Hi SajeevPynadath

    1

First start the server process with "cache - server.cmd".

    2

After that, you can start another process of client or server, the 'coherence.cmd' script is to start a client process to join the cluster.

    3

So now you have 2 processes, and your cluster.xml will look like this:

    171.193.103.25

    8088

    171.193.103.25

    8089

    4

Before you begin each remember process java command line:

    for server

    -Dtangosol.coherence.localhost =171.193.103.25 - Dtangosol.coherence.localport = 8088

    for the customer

    -Dtangosol.coherence.localhost =171.193.103.25 - Dtangosol.coherence.localport = 8089

    Kind regards

  • How to set of Cluster nodes on the same network but on different gateways

    Hello
We want to set of Cluster nodes on the same network but the connection through different gateways for Unicast (WKA). We strive to add sockets for < cluster-config > tangosol-coherence - override.xml file, pls help how to set.

Looks like you are using the default configuration for the system property:

    8088
    true

The probable reason for this question, it's the localport is unaffected as 8088 for communication on the machines. Either use the property system - Dtangosol.coherence.localport = 8088 and - Dtangosol.coherence.localport.adjust = false or see the node will connect and find node assigned to each node and open the nodes; recommended to use multiple addresses node as in unicast configuration below:

    well-known-address >

    XXX

    8088

    YYY

    8088

    See you soon,.

  • OK the property button (LV7.1) cluster node

    Hi people,

I already found a solution to my problem, but I was wondering if someone could put a logic to it.  I created a group of Boolean values with buttons OK because I wanted to use custom text labels, etc.  When I unbundle the cluster, I get the Boolean desired.  However, when I created a property node, the value was the variant - makes no sense to me.  If I wire the property node to a conversion of the VI Variant (with the Boolean type), the output of the property node suddenly becomes Boolean and stays that way when I remove the conversion VI - makes even less sense.

Why OK buttons are somewhat different from other Boolean when used in a cluster?

The fix that I went was to create a bunch of LEDs square with text, turned in the controls and then put them in a cluster.

    Michael Tracy

    Synergy microwave

The property node was a variant because the 'OK' button is a type of lock. You shouldn't read/write locking type buttons programmatically, because a race condition is inevitable. Your question didn't concern the cluster.

  • ISE PSN node will not be joining the cluster

    Hi all

Has anyone seen a problem where an NHP cannot join the cluster?

    We join node of PSN

-Node is saved successfully (current synchronization)

-1 hour later - node replication failure.

-Replication synchronization failed because the secondary database is down

I have a client where admin node and PSN are separated by the firewall.

    We let in two directions

    Admin <-->PSN

    ICMP

    HTTPS

    1521

    Firewall not showing drops.

    DNS and NTP are ok.

Current topology is 1 NHP, 1 Admin node.

Works very well in our test lab, but not clients environmnet.

    See you soon

    Peter.

Thank you for the update we and good work on the search for the solution! You should probably mark it as resolved now

In addition, it is quite rare (at least for me) for nodes of ISE to be separated by firewalls. There are a lot of ports/protocols that must be opened between them is usually more of a pain to manage. In addition, sometimes ports will change too. For example, the fueling port agent has been changed not too long ago...

    Thanks for the note!

    Thank you for the help

    I have changed accounts.

We managed to find the reason. First of all, it is a virtual machine. An expert colleague told me to check the hardware of vmware. We managed to find out that there is a difference of ILO to host vmware hardware. Even if the guest OS virtual material seem to be the same, but the difference between the results of operating system host different logical and physical size of block on 2 nodes. This is the reason.

We had to update the kernel to apply the setting ORACLEASM_USE_LOGICAL_BLOCK_SIZE to repair the block size for clusterware difference. Everyone was puzzled about why, but the most important is the host VMware system in this issue.

    Thanks for the help

  • What happens if you add a new node of current cluster, while the CPU of the new node is slower quality?

    Hello

I have a 3 node RAC, I want to add a new node to the current cluster... While the new node processors are slower that others... what happens?

(my problem is: I can add that new node successfully? if yes, can even improve the performance of the entire cluster or not?)

    Thank you

    s9225

Processors must be of the same type - for example 64-bit Intel/AMD can work with the other processors of Intel/AMD 64-bit of the different clock speeds (but not with the Itanium processors).

What kind of CPU do you use?

I checked multicast that removes ok, in fact all of the checks in contradiction with the fact that why I get this error...
