the disappearance of the virus?

OK, so what happened in September last year. Meanwhile, my norton 360 subscription had expired and I was using the (at the time available) kaspersky online scanner.

I accidentally downloaded an infected file, b.exe, (which kaspersky was able to pick up). I could not remove b.exe turned off my computer, as it was "being in use. then, well, it was on my computer.

After a few days, my father has renewed my subscription to norton 360. However, when I did the scan, norton 360 could not recognize b.exe as an infected file, even if kaspersky online scanner said it was still on my computer (and it was, as I knew where he was)

so, I edited my scan of norton 360 for "delete automatically the files infected" and analyzed again. However, norton 360
don't have pick up the file b.exe (yet), but when I checked the location where b.exe was supposed to be... he wasn't there more.

I used the kaspersky online scanner, norton 360, malwarebytes and Prevx [only the deep scan] and nothing came.

the virus has just disappeared? It may even JUST go away?

Hello

Looks like scanners took care of it by default. Try a very thorough using these methods check

  • Cannot run some programs after system restore to remove the virus

    Hello

Toshiba my duaghter had a nasty virus that pretends to be an antivirus software product, which sneaked in, between the time his default service Norton has expired and I had the time to install Trend.

Can not remove it using trend, so on the advice of a friend, decided to make a windows system restore to a point before the infection. It worked successfully and the virus has disappeared, but now she can't run some programs, I tried to reinstall Trend, but fails because he says you must first uninstall Norton. But I can't run Norton, or uninstall, and certain folders on C: are no longer accessible.

I have to do a full restore of the Toshiba System (IE back tofactory settings? This seems a drastic measure, but the issue is beyond my meager knowledge of PC.

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Hmm... This announcement is a bit confusing... Maybe the programs you want to say were installed after the system restore point, who knows?

In my opinion you must reset the laptop configuration that you have already written. This will restore the pre-installed Windows version where everything is working correctly and that all the drivers and tools are installed.

Therefore, you only need the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. This will restore the factory settings.

  • Computer infected with the virus. USB drives no longer appear in Windows Explorer.

    Original title: attack viruses, help...

My friend has a computer that is running windows XP. She asked for help on what to do when several virus has infected his computer.

I tried my best, but the virus has turned off. The Task Manager, msconfig are impossible to perform. the computer had a virus which is the reason why it continues to be infected. The last scan I made from a usb key which has been infected to leave the computer has revealed five different viruses and worms, each of them spread through usb drives. It's the worst case of infection, I had ever seen.  I tried to scan with the scanner but it did not work. The computer crashed, and when I turned it on things have become much worse. USB drives no longer appear in the Explorer, the computer reads no more and the old xp theme has disappeared, his running today on classic. Help me please.

    Please follow the steps below:

On a friend or a member of the family computer, download the files installation and update Malwarebytes from the links below, copy them to a CD or a flash drive, then transfer the files on the problem machine and use them. If you cannot start the computer in 'normal' windows, try to install, update and running AFTER the computer scans are started in Mode safe... I use the sites below to download the installation file and the manual update:

Once downloaded and before moving the machine to the problem, rename the Setup file "mbam - setup.exe" to something like "Gogetum.exe", and then copy the installation file and the update on a CD or a flash drive file... Transfer the file to the problem machine, install the "Gogetum.exe" file, and then run the update for the current program... After that, run a full system scan and delete everything it finds.

Install Malwarebytes-download link (by clicking the links below will immediately start the download dialog window.)

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free>

Then download the SuperAntispyware program and the manual update of the links below. After you run the Malwarebytes tool that above, if you still cannot download and install directly from the problem machine, download it to a friend or a family member computer as well. After installation and update SuperAntispyware, run a full system scan and delete everything it finds as well. As before, you may need to rename the Setup file for the Setup program. :

    Hello

Your system is infected with the virus, update your Mcafee and run a full scan of the system in safe mode. You can also try to download Anti-malware http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and scan your system in safe mode.

To start your computer in safe mode, you must press the F8 key before the windows screen is loaded (time between the BIOS screen disappears and before you get the windows screen).

Once you get your system clean everything in safe mode, restart your computer, should be all good.

  • How can I get rid of the virus JS/Redir?

whenever I work with firefox, AVG tells me about a virus JS/Redir. I click on delete and AVG of States, he put in quarantine. However, it will always return. AVG dialog box displays the file mozilla profile; adblockplus\cache.js. I deleted it, but the problem persists. This problem only occurs with firefox. I reluctantly have to use IE untul that this is resolved.

Thanks for these tips that I followed with success. The virus has been alerted by AVG, with whom I also scanned the C drive. The virus has been moved by AVG in the forties, when I removed it, but he returned on several occasions whenever I used Firefox. AVG has identified the resident virus in a cache file in a folder "adblock", in the Firefox profile. Reset Firefox has created a new profile, which did not contain a folder "adblock". The virus was not returned. I deleted the previous profile. I don't know why "adblock" was in the original profile, but you might consider this and take measures to prevent such a situation in the future.

    Thanks again.
