• How to release/renew the IP address on the DMP

  Is there a way to release or renew the IP address of the DMM on a unit deployed to the area? We have assigned a reserved IP address and I don't see any way to do this via the internal settings of the DMP - 4400G. The static value I'm afraid will require a hard reboot to the endpoint. Running V.5.4

  Hello, the following comments are NOT officially supported by Cisco TAC but can help in the fulfillment of what you need to do.  The operating system for Cisco for the DMP runs UDHCP.  Says there is a way to "Liberate" the DMP's current IP address.

  Method correct procedure to a secondary IP address assignment is either statically configure the IP on the DMP and restart OR configure the DHCP scope to statically assign a specific IP address for the DMP, then restart. Of course, you would do this during a scheduled maintenance period and have someone on site just in case something goes wrong.

  Thus, measures to "liberate" the question a DHCP discover on the DPM and IP config is as follows:

  Note: If the TAC is not already activated, this will also require a restart to allow root access.

  * The first thing is to allow root access to the DPM.  Access the Admin Web DMP interface. Under the section of the Administration of the Web graphic button, select MANAGEMENT of DMP and "Enable Cisco TAC Troubleshoot Access" and click APPLY.  In the ACCOUNT of SERVICE of DMP section, set the TAC account, password and click on APPLY button.

  * A reboot is required to SAVE the changes above.  Select administration ECONOMY and RESTART of the DMP.  Click on the button SAVE, then RESTART button to restart the DMP.

  * Once the DMP has rebooted, you can check the changes to make sure ROOT access is enabled.

  Go and browser HTTP, use the URL https:///show-tech

  Search for "Root access" enabled and you should see something like:

  Access enabled root (0 = yes, 1 = No.): 0

  * After 'Root' access is enabled, you can SSH to the DPM as USER 'root '.  Login with the password of account TAC Service you have installed previously.

  * Change to/sbin directory and issue the command "deconfig udhcpc.

  Example of output:

• the DMP is missing when deploying using DMM

  Hello

  I have a DMM and DMP on my network, for a reason that I put a '.xml' file on my DMP in the contents of the folder (\usb_1\deployment\content\\... http://tmp) and x - tac core folder too.

  the problem is when I deploy a presentation using the dmm to the DMP the xml file I store is MISSING.

  the question is why the xml file? I want this file is still there when I via DMM to the DPM Deployment Package.

  Hi Andrie,

  This folder is reserved for the deployment package, thus, all the files already present will be deleted when you perform a deployment.

  When you deploy a presentation or playlist, the DMM will push all required content for presentation, so, I'm afraid, I can't really point to attempt to download a file manually, but if you really want to do, you can download it after that deployment ended or just put in a different folder.

• Access to the MIB on the DMP 4400 g w. #5.2

  We replaced our 4305 4400 g, using the latest version of the #5.2 software

  According to the manual DPM you can access the MIB on the DPM with http://: 7777/get_param? p = xxxxxx

  The 4400 returns nothing.

  Is an idea out there, what is the reason?

• DMM does not see the DMP

  We run #5.2 side DMM and DMP. The DMM > digital media player > DMP Manager > status = X. The DMM does not see the DMP. By clicking on the discovery of the DPM and the State has not changed.

  The DPM is configured to accept the central maanagement, the DMM is configured with the IP and MAC address. It worked in the last days, and I don't remember any changes that might trigger this behavior.

  The last time that I could "communicate" DPM has been: I downloaded a presentation which included a URL that pointed to one of the video inside the DPM.

  No idea what happened? The above URL is valid? How can I discover the DMP?

  The DME supports the following formats of live-streaming:

  -Microsoft Windows Media

  MPEG-4/H.264

  The Cisco 4400 G Digital media player integrates with the Cisco Digital Media Manager to offer:

  Support of the video codec based on standards with MP3 and MPEG - 4 Part 10, MPEG1 and MPEG2, audio, all delivered in MPEG-2 TS in UDP (User Datagram) or RTP over RTSP (RTP over TCP) Protocol in both and high-definition standard (SD and HD, respectively) formats

  The key here is MPEG-2 TS.  The DME encoders do not do this.

  Options:

  -Buy an encoder (IE. Scientific Atlanta) that supports MPEG-2 TS.

  -Use a transcoder to INGEST will allow it Windows since DME media and

  Transcode Live of WMV to MPEG-2 TS Stream flow.

  In the next upcoming release (5.2), the DMP 4400 G will support Wi - Fi. The functioning of the current hardware is in place today, but the DMP Firmware will not support wireless until the next version. You contact the team counts Cisco or Rep for more details... The next Release is tentatively scheduled for release at the end of years or some time after the beginning of the year... Stay Tuned for official notification on www.cisco.com in the next month...

• Remove information from STORAGE of the dmp

  I have a problem with a dmp file created on Oracle 10.2.0.3.0. I did this export to create a development/test database.
  
  For export, I used the following option:

  log = mydmp.log

  Compress = n
  your comments = 10000
  Statistics = none
  
  The problem I have, is that this export contains all the "STORAGE" of my production database options. I want to remove this information because the two databases do not have the same disk space. Two databases have the same version of oracle, but the first database is 20 times greater than the second.
  
  This is why I would like to know how can I remove the 'STORAGE' options by editing the dmp or add an option on the export.

  -import data on the test servers
  
  We are trying to create a process where we can remove all the "sensitive data" test, because our data is highly confidential.
  So, we have already designed a procedure that can remove these data after the import.
  
  BUT my question is: there is some King of oracle tool which can allow us to modify the data in the dmp file, even before you start the import operation?

  You can protect your sensitive data after importation in the test environment using datamasking grid control functions.

  Another solution, I've used sometimes is create the trigger for insertion in the test environment a sensitive but important data change is slower.

  In this case, I think you can edit the sql file (generated from the 'imp indexfile' command), according to the storage in the new environment.
