The document will appear smaller on Mac Book compared to the iMac?

Hello

I use the Mac for my work in Photoshop. Right now on my Mac Book Pro, I use Photoshop CC 2015 (subscription) on my iMac, I bought and installed on those.

in any way, if I'm trying to edit a file at 300 DPI on my iMac the canvas shows greater that it does on my Mac Book Pro. Why is this? And can I change this?

It is annoying because the right canvas appears much too small and is more difficult to work. I can work on a file on my Mac Book Pro and it seems all good, but then open it on my iMac, and things are just not right because the canvas size is larger and the design does not look right and vice versa.

I never had this problem before, until a recent (not sure how long ago) updated with Adobe Creative Photoshop Cloud. A lot has changed, and it was one of those changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Jon

When you view a document on the screen to display 100%, Photoshop displays a pixel of screen for a pixel in the image.

The physical size of the pixels of the screen depends on the resolution of the screen and its physical dimensions.

Your Mac Book has smaller pixels, probably because the screen is physically smaller, and it may also have a higher resolution than the screen of your iMac (retina?).

So is that what you see is completely normal, and has nothing to do with Photoshop, which has to display the images correctly - it's a screen pixel for pixel of an image at 100%.

If it is a Retina display, web browsers and other programs dimensionnera images at 200%, to compensate for the small pixels (high density of pixels), which can be confusing. But Photoshop shows the image correctly.

This has been discussed several times on this forum, like this:

100% zoom is too small on the screen (the designers don't you displays high resolution)
