The fan starts to every 10-15 sec on Satellite Pro A30

Hi all

My CPU fan / seems to act strangely.
The fan comes on every 10-15 seconds for 5-10 seconds.
I recently had the A30 and the fan comes on a regular basis even when the PC is not in use.
When I put my finger on the radiator, I can feel heat quite hot when the fan is used.
It cools and the fan stops.

Is this a normal behavior?
I ask because I have other questions, where HD/DVD not recognized.
(posted elsewhere)

TIA,
Ray.

Hello Ray

If you check this forum using the advanced search, you will find a lot of comments on the A30 cooling fan and surprise questions. A30 is quite old unit (about 4 years) and I guess she must be cleaned properly.

I guess it's pretty much dust inside and he cannot be cooled properly. If you don t want to find similar topics here visit please this page http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA35/Satellite-A35-fixing-overheating.htm

If you got less than a month ago, it is still under warranty of 90 days (I think), so take it back to the Apple Store you got OR no matter what Apple Store close to you if you bought it online.

  • The speakers click when the fan starts and stops Equium A100-147

I recently bought the 100-147 satellite and noticed that a click comes from the speakers (or headphones or external speakers) when the fan starts up and even when the fan stops. Sometimes it s quite remarkable, other times not so remarkable.

Everyone can hear that click? If it's normal, I can live with that, otherwise I will return it for repair. Any comment please?

In addition, it seems slow at startup and shut down. Put into service takes 2 minutes and 35 seconds, and stop to 33 seconds. Is this normal bearing in mind, it is running MCE? I have loaded additional software such as Itunes, Nero, Office 2000, Photoshop 5.0 etc.

    Thank you for reading.

Clicking noise when the fan starts or stops turning is not uncommon. On my satellite a similar sound will appear when the fans begin to turn or the HARD disk starts to spin.
Then worry about don t, I think its OK.

The start-up procedure can take several times when a lot of applications and software to load at the beginning. Equium A100 seems to be one of the newer laptops, and I assume that different applications Toshiba load at the beginning.
Also an Antivirus applications could extend the startup procedure.

You might try testing something. Disable the antivirus of loading at the beginning and check if the laptop will start faster.

It s even with stops. All background processes that are run in the context of the operating system should be closed until the laptop shuts down completely.

  • Satellite Pro A30: Difference between the motherboard K000013790 vs K000011360

    Hi all

I need to replace my motherboard on a Satellite pro A30.
The Board of Directors is to be replaced is a k000011360.
The advice I can get to replace is K000013790.

Can someone tell me the difference between these two?
I have a 2.6 GHz CPU that may not be supported by the
    replacement card.

If I understand correctly, all Pro A30 boards have a standard form factor
    so can be interchanged.

    TIA,
    Ray.

    Hello

I'm really skeptical that anyone here can give you accurate information. Maybe you will be lucky and a technician will be post but before wait you here and size your time I recommend you exchange it with the same.

On this way, you will be sure that it will work well and there will be no problem with the other hardware components or maybe sort of moderator suites like overheating, permanent cooling fan running.

Also can you check if this card fits into the A30 (ports on the right place) case?

  • Satellite Pro A30: CD/DVD drive does not-how to restore the OS?

I want to run the recovery discs to restore my laptop to its original state, but the cd/dvd-rom does not work.

Does anyone have an idea how I can do this is by plugging my laptop on another pc or is there a program on the web, I get to do this for me.

Bacically, even after that run CCleaner and other programs of the laptop is still slow and struggled.

    Hi mate

I'm not very well if the former satellite Pro A30 is able to boot from USB drive Mr. in this case, you can try to install the OS from USB flash stick.

  • Satellite Pro A30 - RAM to help to improve the graphic system

I have a Toshiba Satellite PRO A30 and I recently went to a computer fair when I learned that I couldn't change the graphics because it is built in processor, but the guy told me I could use the RAM on my laptop (which is 1.2 GB) to improve the graphics up to 128 MB? is it true on this type of laptop, I looked everywhere on the net for how to do and say everything, it is to do so through the phoenixbios I have tried to do so but do not cause on my bios it doesn't gives not the possibility to change it, will I need an update for my bios?

    Hi Mark,

Your information is basically correct. The SA30 uses RAM shared for its graphics chip, so in principle, you can specify which part of your main RAM that you want to use for this purpose. However, the ability to specify the RAM allocation is controlled by the BIOS, and if the manufacturer of the BIOS has chosen to preselect the value of RAM graphic, then, you will not be able to change it.

I know that Phoenix BIOS allows the allocation of RAM to specify up to 128 MB (16, 32, 64 and 128 values) and it can also be defined in the properties display ("Advanced" tab), select the Frame Buffer and check which is entered for the value of the AMU.

I think that the option in the BIOS is also called UMA and appears on the second page of the BIOS update, about half way down the screen.

    Kind regards

  • Upgrade WLAN to the Satellite Pro A30

    Hey ppl.

I have Toshiba Satellite Pro A30 (SPA30). Where I have the slot for the wireless card?
I want to buy via e - bay, but I don't know what kind.
If anyone can let me know, thanks.

    Hello

The WLan card slot should be somewhere under the keyboard.
As far as I know this laptop would support the * wireless Mini-PCI network card * and standard Wi - Fi: 802. 11B.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro U series: the fan starts to operate - the computer doesn't

I had this problem since the computer was new (1 year now), and it has increased. Now I can work the internet on the computer, an hour before shutting down the computer - it is too hot. If I don't use products of word or office without being online, it's OK I tried to shut down unused application, it helps a little but not a lot. What can I do?

Have you tried to clean the fans with a jet of compressed air?
Many users recommend this tool for the cleaning of the fan, and it looks like it works very well.

I think dust and debris inside the laptop to prevent fans turn properly and cooling the temperature rises and this leads to an overheating problem

But if this doesn t help get rid of the problem of overheating then the ASP may be a last resort.

  • Satellite Pro A30: after disk HARD replacing the BIOS does not see DVD or HARD disk

    Hello

I bought a new Pro A30 of Satellite earlier.
Shortly after, I noticed the system sometimes
would freeze, with a rattling of the HD.
A reboot cold was the only solution.
I was told to replace the HD I did but the
problem persisted with the new HD.

I tried a known working HD and the problem still persisted.
At this point, the warranty period has increased.
Frost started happening more regularly, and
now, the BIOS does not recognize the HD player or DVD.
It starts and then try to boot from the network,
because he doesn't have a HD or DVD player.

At this point, I think I need a new system board.
Someone at - it other advice or seen this problem

    Hello

What happens if you remove the CD/DVD drive or the HARD drive?
The laptop recognizes one of these devices?
Have you used the devices recommended by Toshiba?

in any case, this seems very strange and the dysfunction of the motherboard is not impossible

  • The fans started later after 3.10 BIOS updated on Satellite L30 - 134

    Hello
Please, so prompt correctly I think?
Look at me is Toshiba L30-134.

Today, I have loaded the new BIOS version for this portable goal - 3, 10 - WIN and she put in place instead of preceding.
During the installation, everything happened perfectly, but after installation I discovered, that the threshold of cooler working temperature has changed!

Now cooler began to be launched to the realization by the processor of the temperature of heating from 63 to 67 degrees and with cooler previous BIOS worked at 58 degrees!

If it is unsafe for the processor? Or and was designed also Toshiba engineers have specifically changed a temperature threshold in the new BIOS version?

P.S. I bring an apology for my disgusting English language. It is not my native language :-)

Don t worry and don't worry my friend ;)
The temperature of my CPU on non-Toshiba notebook is also about 67-70 ° C and everything works great for years!

  • Increases the speed of the fan and freeze of windows 7 on my Satellite A200

I am using Toshiba Satellite A200-24 of (PSAE3E) for 3 years now. It came pre-installed with Vista. Last year, I went to Winows 7 Ultimate. Everything was fine.

4 months ago I switched to Windows 7 Enterprise n. hated not see Windows Media Player in it. Now the problem is, during the video online streaming (not always the case), my fan speed arise, so do its sound, and my hard drive gets real busy. 10 seconds later, my window is frozen. In fact, its not responding because of the excessive use of hard drive.

I have read many articles on the internet, many users of toshiba is facing the same problem when using Windows 7. But I could not find a solution to this.

This problem started about 3 months ago, and then for sometimes, he stopped himself. now, he has started 3 weeks ago. If anyone can help me on this issue, I'm more than grateful.

    Here are my specs:

    Windows 7 Enterprise n Service rate 1
    1.73 dual core
    RAM 3 GB
    75 + 75 GB hard drive partitions

I guess the CPU usage goes to 100% and result is freezing. Can you identify the background processes that may be responsible for this?
    > I have read many articles on the internet, many users of toshiba is facing the same problem when using Windows 7. But I could not find a solution to this.
Your opinion is too general. Lot of Toshiba users have many different problems with Windows7. My laptop also comes with Vista for a year I use Win7 32 bit and everything works perfectly.
    > This problem started 3 months ago...
What complicated the situation as a whole. What have you done 3 months ago? Have you changed some settings, installed additional software that may be responsible for this?

Unfortunately, it is not easy to help them in this situation.

  • Why the HARD disk is partitioned into C & D on Satellite Pro C partition

Why the HARD drive is divided and how to use it?

It is important that the one that I use?
It turns into one big disk?

The manual says nothing about this.

    Thanks for any help

    Ken

    Hello

The HARD disk is partitioned and contains two partitions. The C partition is the system partition that contains the Windows operating system. The second D partition contains data drive HARD recovery.
HARD drive recovery allows you to establish the notebook back to factory settings without the recovery disk usage.

But it s is strongly recommended to create the recovery disk! The user manual provides the info on that in case something goes wrong with the HARD drive, the recovery disk allows you to recover the laptop.

Of course, you can delete the D partition if you want to, but before doing so, you must create the recovery disk.

However, my HARD drive contains 3 partitions. I created an extra. In my case, the C partition contains only system and the unique software. My files private like Mp3, movies, etc. are placed on the D second partition).
The third partition (E) contains a folder with games.

  • Satellite Pro L870 don't stay on the Toshiba logo forever - no start

    Hi all

Does anyone know of a problem that could cause a no boot (a few stays on Toshiba logo forever) followed by starting on the second try almost every time on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L870 (Windows 8)?

    Thanks in advance

The laptop usually performs the POST (power on self-test) while the Toshiba splash screen is visible.
In power in the self-test, the essential components card mother (i.e. RAM) is enabled.

I think the POST should not be spent properly and so the laptop hangs at the Toshiba logo screen.

But unfortunately, I can't say with certainty what part could be affected it could be a RAM problem or a motherboard problem.

  • Satellite L20 - 101-, the fan won't turn on when starting.

    Hello!

I found that the fan on my L20 lights during startup (for the first few seconds). All started about 3 weeks ago. Sometimes it can be sometimes not. Than you think. Can be a serious problem? Perhaps it is caused by a weather? In the BIOS I chose "performance" mode

    L20 - 101, Pentium M (1.73), Intel GMA915, 1 GB of RAM

    ;)

    Hello

I don t think that this could be a serious problem!
Usually, the fan starts to turn if a temperature level has been reached.
The temperature inside the laptop depends on the use of the laptop

You can also consult the laptop for dust and debris fans. Dust inside the laptop may have a bad influence on cooling performance

But do not worry, everything seems to be ok ;)

I tried several keys (Fn + F2, ESC, F5) while starting up, as an external monitor. Nothing has changed.

Who has an idea? Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

If the start of the BIOS (or Toshiba) screen does not appear, it means that a serious motherboard hardware problem can cause this RAM modules or malfunctioning CPU would be possible
Recommends checking the memory RAM and CPU modules
The RAM modules could be replaced easily but it of difficult to replace the CPU and test it. Therefore, it would be a job for a technicians for laptop
