The hand left panel doen't show the usual "Control Panel Home" switch and my control panel display is stuck on the classic view.

The same thing happened to me recently: the hand left panel doen't show the usual "Control Panel Home" switch and my control panel display is stuck on the classic view. Click on "Show common tasks in folder" but that doesn't change anything. Finally, I tried a restore without success point. No idea how to get back the link "control Panel Home"?

Thank you very much for your support

  • STUCK ON the classic view!

OK, so after a lot of difficulty getting the majority of the classic spit on everything else, it is still stuck on my box "appearance settings".

Directions: Control Panel: appearance and personalization: changing the color scheme

When I do that instead of getting the range of pastel colors with gradients of transparency which is the default in Vista, I NOW have a series of overlapping boxes (inactive/active window and Message box), with choice of scheme colors below.  When I try the 'effects' "Advanced" buttons and try to customize my pre-set 'choice' of Windows Vista Basic, NO color or changes I do EVER take effect.  I HATE this appearance of my "appearance settings".  I want my pastel colors and transparency at the back.

    Hi Avoda,

If you see the dialog box appearance instead of the window color and appearance settings, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the color scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see solving problems with Windows Aero.

To return to the window color and appearance window, you will need to change the Windows Vista aero theme.

    1. open appearance settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, customization, then clicking on the window color and appearance. If the appearance settings dialog box is not displayed, at the bottom of the page, click Open classic appearance properties.
    2. in the color scheme list, click Windows Vista Aero, and then click OK.
    3. now go back to the Windows appearance, now you will find the window color and appearance window back.

How can I decide to change the color scheme to improve performance?

  • How can I go back to the classic view for Adobe Reader?

I use the player on my laptop or desktop mainly and the photos slow me down. I want my drop-down menus origin. They make sense to me as well as the Photos take up too much space on my screen and interferes with the way that I like to use the product - who must see the text while I scroll through the options. I find this new interface is very clunky.

I don't think you can change the GUI of the CD player. at least I've seen no indication that this could be done.

The only thing you can do is to uninstall the CD player, and then download and reinstall the version earlier than X or XI.

  • My Vista theme, replaced by the classic theme of the Windows while it's self from one day to the next.

Last night, I used my computer and everything was fine. I used it up to this as 02:00, and everything was fine. When I got up at 8 this morning to get ready for work, I did my usual ritual (bathroom, breakfast, facebook, shower, leaves), and when I got to the part of facebook, I turned on my laptop and noticed he was in the classic view. I searched through every place I can think of (all settings for themes and personalization Control Panel) and found nothing. In particular, when I went to "Change theme" it only shows "Windows classic" as the only option. It bothers me because I hate the Windows Classic view. I mean, it does not affect the functionality of the computer, he looks really old and it's annoying that it cannot be corrected.

    Hello

The themes service may be having a problem and stopped, we will check:

    1. Windows key + R, in the Run dialog box type services.msc

    2. once in Services, find themes, double click it and make sure that it is set to Automatic and started. If this isn't the case, fix and start it.

    Kind regards

  • I can't access my home screen and the fast user switching!

I get an error message when I try to change the way I connect
"client services for NetWare has disabled the Welcome screen and the fast user switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the Client Services for NetWare. "
What is NetWare? Where is he? I don't find it on my program list to remove it! Help!

To resolve this issue, follow these steps. NOTE: If you rely on access to a Novell network and need the Client Service for Netware or the Novell Client, you cannot use the home screen or fast Windows XP user switching features.

    1. If you are using the Novell Client, see the following Web site for instructions on how to uninstall Novell support:

      http://support.Novell.com (http://support.novell.com/)
    2. If you are using the classic view in Control Panel, double-click network connections. If you are using the category view, click on network connections and Internetand then click on network connections.
    3. Right-click each connection that you have, and then click Properties each time.
    4. Under the tab general in each Local network connection, select the Client Service for Netware, and then click Uninstall.
    5. In the Dial-up connection properties dialog box, click the Networking tab, highlight the Client Service for Netwareand then click Uninstall.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. Open Control Panel, and then double-click user accounts.
    8. Under pick a task..., click on change the way users log on or off the power.
    9. Click to select the opening and closing of session options you want: use of the Welcome screen or use quick user change.
  • Control Panel in Classic view

How can I keep the control panel in the classic in Winodws Vista Ultimate display after I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled everything? He worked prior to cleaning, but do not now.

Thank you. You put me on the right path. Here is the step by step instructions on how I made the change.

Right click on start > properties > Start Menu tab (make sure that you have it on the Start Menu under the Start Menu tab and not the Classic Start Menu) > customize, then put a check mark in the display menu in Control Panel.
This of course now has you in the Vista Start Menu, which I don't like. Although it is in the Vista Start Menu, go to control panel and make sure that it is in or change it by clicking on classic view on the left side of the screen to Classic view. Create a shortcut on your desktop for control panel that you have now changed to Classic view
Change the Start Menu back to Classic view by clicking on Start > properties > Classic view > apply > OK.
You can now drag the icon of the control panel from your desktop in Menu quick start at the bottom left of the screen or use your desktop and whenever you click on the Control Panel icon, it will come in Classic view.
Thank you once again. This can be useful for others who are facing the same problem.
  • wind 7 after importation, pictures appearing is not under my images in the left panel

but as separate above my pictures folders.  I am new to windows 7 and never had this problem with XP. I've rechecked as to where exactly, I'm importing, but it does make a difference.

When I 'show in Explorer' the folder is there, but apparently not as well as all other folders under my images in the left panel.

Right click on a folder and you will be able to update the path.

Also can you put up a screenshot of the files in the Explorer. This is the other side of the equation.
