The HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC: Disabling the use of the Fn key

Hey,.

I'm a gamer and I just want to play my game without my brightness is turned down or the sound is muted whenever I try to use the function keys, because I need to use the fn key. I miss the good old days when pressing the actually makes F1 F1 have not pushed an extra key to use it otherwise in the middle of my game it cuts my sound or anything else.

I'm looking for some time, everywhere I look at where I...

Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Press the f10 key to open the BIOS Setup window.

There are other steps, but I'll stop here, because fortunately for me... That's where I stop. :/

I know that I need to disable the keys to action or something, but I can't understand because pressing F10 does nothing for me and I can't for the life of me what to do.

PLEASE HELP I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

Hello

Try the following.

Shut down the laptop - it by holding down the button SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

Tap on the button ESC you start Notepad and see if it jumps to the Start Menu.  If this is the case, select the option in the Bios ( f10 ).

If you access the Bios Menu successfully, the change you need to do is indicated in the document on the following link.

  • Pavilion g7 Notebook PC windows 7 - changes on the desktop when moving the mouse to the keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC running windows 7.  When I use the mouse (wireless or wired) and then click to add text - when I go to type on the keyboard - the window becomes the office window. If I drag on the touchpad, returns the original window. This happens quite often.  Any suggestions as to what may cause this problem?

    Hey pjg316,

I'm sorry that you run into this problem from touchpad. There are gestures multitouch built into many laptops touchpad drivers. Synaptics (the manufacturer of touchpad) did a good job of making these features very customizable gesture.

It seems that perhaps the four fingers Flick that causes this problem. You can either

    (1) disable it so it never happens, or

    (2) you can set the sensitivity of the mouse so that it does not recognize your hand/fingers hovering / brushing in the touchpad as the flick of four fingers.

    To view these settings:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. type "mouse".

    3. click on the tab to the right. He can say "ClickPad" / "TouchPad" / "Device" / 'Synaptics' settings depending on what version you have.

    4. then click on settings for ClickPad.

    5. If you want to disable the four fingers flick, just to develop gestures MultiFinger and uncheck the box. Don't forget to click on apply to save the changes.

If you want to change your sensitivity and keep the four fingers flick activated, expand pointing and double-click sensitivity. Adjust the slider only one notch at a time, to avoid making too big of a change that would make the touchpad is very sensitive. Don't forget to click on apply to save the changes.

If you make any changes you want to UN - do, you can always click the default button at the bottom left. Let me know if you have any questions

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: restore the system and drivers

Hello. A few days ago I faced a bad experience with my laptop HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. System crashed. At any time, I tried to turn it on, an error message appears and the system was blocked. The message was: FILE: \BOOT\BCD status 0xc000000f, asking for the disc of Windows 7 system running. But the system disk did not run at all. I checked the situation and found the hard drive with 6 partitions instead of 2. I found a named partition BOOT (X which was a replica of C:.)  When I tried to restore the system with the recovery disc, something has obtained control of the recovery disc, so that C: might not be formatted; nor was X:. Also, I tried to cancel the file in X: but disc was protected and does not allow changes. If only I could get my uninstalled hard drive and all partitions have been cleaned. I got my hard drive cleaned perfectly, but my recovery disk can be installed correctly. So, the system has not yet restored. My question is: what should I do to get my laptop with the system restore? any ideas?

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your message and understand that you try to use Miracast on your Pavilion dv6 notebook. As noted in your post and Maintenace and Service of Guide, Miracast is not supported by this type of laptop. There are a few third party options that don't use Miracast, more commonly known as transmitter and receiver HDMI systems.
