  Is the HP Photosmart Premium C309G printer compatible with Linux?  Compatibility Linux is a test before I buy a printer, and I'm curious to know.

  I note that similar (but not identical) model C309A is compatible, as shown here: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/supported_devices/photosmart.html if the C309G has the same level of compatibility as the C309A, I'll be happy... but it is not clear to me if the C309G can use the same driver HPLIP/CUPS/Linux as the C309A.

  In fact, there are very good support for the C309G.  I just bought a plus earlier today and have set up with Ubuntu 9.10.

  You must use HPLIP.  Ubuntu 9.10 seems to come with the 3.9.8 version.  I manually installed 3.9.10:

  1. go to http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install_wizard/index.html

  2. Select your Linux distro and version.

  3. for the type of printer, select "Photosmart/Photosmart Pro".

  4. for the model of the printer, select "HP Photosmart Premium all-in-one Printer Series - c309g" (it took me forever to find in the selection list)

  5. click next to download HPLIP, even if she tells you your distribution includes a version that supports your printer

  6. click Next again to download.

  7. click on the button download HPLIP.

  8 follow the instructions ("' sh hplip - 3.9.10.run", essentially ")

  Do not work as root or with sudo.  You will be asked your password later.  Among other things, the installation script installs all needed packages, including XSane for scanning.

  I really appreciate the support HP for Linux here, and it's one of the reasons why I continue to purchase HP printers.

At the end of the text, the lines bow down and then make a vertical line. My computer is Windows XP and my laptop is Windows 8. I've only used the windows 8 during about six months.   I'm trying to install the driver for my Photosmart 7760 (7700 series) on a 32-bit version of Win7 and Windows update is stating, that it does not exist. I consult the list of drivers after their update by using the windows update button in the Add Printer Wizard and there is the 7400 series and the 7800 series. Series No. 7700. I go to your support site to download and it tells me to use Windows update.

  I'm now stuck in a time loop in and out. It never ends. Use windows update, there is no. Go to your site, tell you to use windows update.

  I understand that your HP Photosmart 7760 Photo printer has the German value on the screen on the front and you want the printer must be set to English you have a flashing red and error on your printer and you don't know what that means. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Now, you should know that the only way to manually set the language on your printer is in arrow from the front panel menu and select the language, and then select the language you need. Because your printer is in an error state, it is possible that the front panel display will fail to answer correctly. Also, because of the age of your printer, I am unable to access menus on front panel of your product. I have the path that you must follow to change the language, but I can't tell you how many clicks and arrows need to be affected between each menu. This will create challenges that we will need to decipher what is on your monitor to make sure that we are accessing the correct menus. That being said, can I please have you follow the steps below.

  1. On your printer control panel, select the Menu button
  2. Press the down arrow key to select the Preferences menu (may say Vorlieben)
  3. Click OK to access preferences
  4. Then arrow down to what the language will be highlighted (may say Sprache)
  5. Click OK to access the language menu
  6. Press the down arrow key to select English and click OK

  Your printer's LCD screen will now appear in English. Please take note of the error. If you need assistance troubleshooting error please let me know what is the error message.

  I have Mac 10.6.8.   Printer (HP Photosmart 7760) has stopped working.  Reinstalled the drivers updated. Went through the steps including unplugging cables USB and all the other steps recommended by HP. When I press print, the document goes to the queue and and the error message is displayed. When I press the resume to print, nothing happens.

  We will restore the print system:

  -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
  -Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
  WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
  -Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

If you want to have the ability to customize print settings I advise to use the print application mobile ePrint.   I understand that you want to implement your 7760 Photosmart wireless to your new laptop to Windows 8. Unfortunately, after checking the printer specifications, this printer is only USB supported, for the wireless connection is not an option.

  

  The only way to connect the printer would use an update of Windows, as this model of printer is older and does not support full feature driver for Windows 8, Windows 8 is a newer operating system.

  Try following the steps here to connect the printer to your laptop: install a 8 Windows with Windows Update driver

• Photosmart B110a: eprint problems after Windows upgrade 10

  The printer lives in my office, plugged into a Mac.  My laptop connects wireless to it.  You use Windows 7, the laptop could connect to it as a network printer via the Mac, which required that the Mac be turned on, or directly using eprint, requiring only the printer.  After upgrading to Windows 10 I re-installed the printer as a network printer and everything's fine but eprint does not at all.  I downloaded the latest version and I get a 'eprint + Jetadvantage' device in my list of installed printers, but if I select to print anything it either nothing happens.  The call to the top properties of the printer shows an error message saying "eprint driver is not installed on this computer.  You want to install it now? ».  This leads to a "pilot Add Printer Wizard" which lists a driver of HP eprint.  Try to install this product a message that I am about to add the following driver "HP ePrint, x 86, Type 3 - User Mode" but nothing seems to happen and I still get the missing pilot error.  I uninstalled and reinstalled several times without success.  I ran the HP Scan doctor and print, but it can't even connect to the eprint printer.

  I understand that after upgrading to Windows 10 that you can no longer use the driver ePrint.

  The first thing I want to address is the "ePrint + Jetadvantage".

  It is not the driver ePrint have you need or want. I will not go into too many details about it, but it's a commercial product and the Photosmart B110a is not supported. It would be best to uninstall this piece of software.

  I'm curious about something. How is the printer is not on a local network with other devices? How is it, you chose to go through the Mac? Why not have the printer on Wifi and having the laptop connect without having to go through the Mac? Maybe I'm missing a part of the installation, but this seems more complicated then it must be.

  I recently bought a PhotoSmart 5524 printer to go with a new iPad AirPrint will however not see the printer and HP ePrint will only print the pictures otherwise I get the "Oops, something went wrong, please try again" error message.

  If I have an e-mail the documents to the printer, everything works fine I just can't print directly to it.

  The printer is connected to a router D-Link DSL-3780 with IGMP active.

  The only reference I can find for this router will show TalkTalk, so I guess it's done specially for them.  Anyuway, according to the forum of TalkTalk, there's an updated firmware available for your fix.  Usually, when firmware updates are "pushed" to the routers, all you need to do is power of the router and turn it back on so he can install it.  There may also be a way to have control of router for updates.  I don't know how it works in your case, so I would contact them for assistance.

  My Photosmart 2575 printer can print the self-test and Windows, but most of the time when I use eprint to android, either phone or tablet, it loads the document and then reports the transport jam. It almost seems like eprint sends a command to the printer is not exoecting. How can I fix?

  The printer uses a driver of operating system, the only editable in the driver parameters can be minimal. That being said, if you don't know how to access the devices section and printers on your computer for tweaking the settings, please have a look to manage the devices section in this document Microsoft Add, remove, and manage your devices and printers .

  Once there, right-click on your printer, select properties from the printer (not only of the properties) and this is where you can change the default values. Please be aware that some programs have the ability to override the settings of the driver, then you might find some programs require that you go the properties or preferences within the program to adjust the setting again. If you don't see the setting you are looking for, please click on the Advanced button to see if the option is there.
