  Not until your VI is running. However, you can do so using VI scripting.

• Impossible to implement the ratio control

  I've already posted a question about how to store the values of the previous variables in labview, but do not have all the answers.

  I have three parameters A, B and C (they denote percentage values) and their corresponding inidicators. For the first time, the user will give two entries. So the third will be automatically calculated from the sum of the two inputs and subtracting hundreds. Next time, when the user modifies an entry, the other two can get a change. I am facing problem in this part of auto-tuning. In the attached code, I designed the initialization stage in 0th step of the sequence of the battery and the auto tuning part in the 1st stage.

  Now that the three commands are reliable inter, I want to take three reports IE a B/C and c/a. As the total unit is 100, so we'll have a modifed has for various B = 100 - B - C is to say 100-B(1+C/B). Simililarly for a variable, we get updated, C = 100-A(1+B/A) and for the variable C, we get a modifed B = 100 - C (1 + A/C). In the auto part, I am firstly adding all parameters and is assimilating it to the 100. The Boolean result active loop true or false. If the case is true then everything that comes in the control gets displayed in the indicator. If the case is wrong, everything that comes in the control is displayed in the indicator as well as changing the value of the other a variable. Here I am alone to face the problem. I am not able to connect the input with the indicator control.

  It will be a great help if you give me some solutions or advice regarding this problem. I enclose the code that is not yet complete, an approximate overview.

  I have more LabVIEW 6.1, but here is a simple implementation in LabVIEW 8.2 and a corresponding image.

  Note that there is no case of a single event and the code is scalable. It can easily be adapted to more than 3 orders by developing the entire table and some minor code changes (for example instead of division by 2, divide by "table size - 1").

  Perhaps you can adapt to LabVIEW 6.1...

  

  

• Cannot create a control or the indicator for a refnum of the display of images in LabView

  I need to move a refnum to a control to display the Image, but find that I can not create a control or an indicator for such refnum.  I can create the refnum without problem, and when I right click on the refnum I gives me the options to create a command or the indicator; However, when I select one of these options no command or the indicator is created.

  I am running XP.  I installed Vision 8.6 at a given time, but had to uninstall because it damaged this control.  I don't know if it affects this type of control to a lower level.

  You can probably do it the hard way by using workaround.  Convert your reference to a Variant or flatten it into a string or cataloged full - some LV allows.  In the Subvi, convert it back into a reference.

  How can I distinguish between controls and indicators property nodes?

  I find that the controls and lights on the Panel before all come from the same class... a digital control and a digital indicator share the same properties... I am trying to find a way to distinguish between the two.  I would like to be able to analyse a reference VI pull only the references to the "controls" or "indicators" on the front panel... but when I try this, I shoot all...

  Although I found this case a knot of property ' control value: get all ' referral of VI, I can choose between only indicator or only the values of the controls... it's close to what I want, but instead, I like to shoot only the references to the Group of the "indicators" or only the references to the groups 'controls '.

• HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when the volume control

  Hello

  I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez and when I change the volume using the slider button in the volume on top of the keyboard, the volume is adjusted accordingly, but no volume indicator appears on the display.

  Previously, when you adjust the volume, a speaker icon with a cursor jumped in the middle of the screen showing the current volume level.

  I use Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Update and HP update shows that I have the latest version of the software. Also, I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

  Note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and enable wireless, etc) stopped working a few days after the disappearance of the sound meter, I have fixed that by connecting battery power and disconnectiong for awhile. However, the indicator is still not displayed. Don't know if this is related (I guess not).

  The Volume OSD is a HP MediaSmart Menu function. He has to load at startup. To do this, go to msconfig and make sure that it is enabled under the Startup tab...

• strange appearance of the digital control

  Hello...

  I met a strange appearance of a digital control, see the below two screen captures.

  Reminder: on a tabpanel, two of several digital controls have been changed programmatically if I put an indicator with a checkbox that is located on another tab of the Panel:

  -control mode is switched / battery hot

  -precision went from 6 to 4 figures to compensate for the space of digital arrows

  These changes are applied to three checks, but only the first (highest) behaves unexpectedly, while others are very well...

  (A) if both attributes are changed, the two top controls look like this:

  

  in other words, the left most of the characters of the control are somehow overlapping, giving the impression of a fat o material

  (B) if only the command mode of the higher control is changed to hot, the following result is obtained:

  

  This makes it more obvious that somehow the two zeros on the left of the control are pressed together.

  Interesting, if I operate the higher control by clicking on the arrow/top down, the result displays (1.0000E - 3) is ok.

  I was much afraid to post this mystery which could well be a stupid mine mistake, but unable to locate a problem in the code, I thought that it could possibly be linked to the issue tab panel reported here

• Current path of the VI is empty when connected to the indicator

  I'm building an ActiveX executable from another language (Visual Basic, C++, etc.).  So I need to create the object, the path of the vi.  I don't know why, but the planned path gives an error.  I wanted to check the way VI so I added an indicator to the current path of the VI.  The indicator is empty when I run the VI.  How can this be.

  So much worse... It follows from several things.  One is that when you click on a vi through a project the application path is different if you opened to the top of the vi.  And the other thing was using the open vi reference and methods to initialize controls.  Is it possible to delete an ad?

  I need a VI, just by pressing a button I could selects all the text in the control or the indicator to be able to copy then pressing CTRL + C.

  I tried to play with the property with selection of startup, select the end node, but no results.

  Also did not find any documentation or examples on how to highlight the text in the indicator.

  Help for 'selection' mentions that you have to set the Focus to the first control.

  There is also a System method to copy a string into the system Clipboard.

  How can I take a property node filled with specific fields and what indicator or the control with which it is associated? For example, if I copy and paste nodes of a VI property to another and to re - use the property node with a different flag that requires the same fields. This will save a ton of time to not have to recreate all the nodes property for each indicator/control again.

  You can click a property node and to break the link to make it explicit as shown in P@Anand.

  Alternatively, you can ignore if you want to keep implicit and right click, scroll until "link to" and navigate through this window to pane-> new control

  This will change the control to which the property node is bound to.  You can use one of these to get the desired results.

  I'm developing a program in which I need to generate an event on the indicator, the project is as we give 4 entries for LabVIEW vi equipment, since these 4 controls are through material I can't generate events on them, so I'm trying to generate an event on the indicators of these controls , but the structure of the event does not respond when I use the value on the display change event. After doing some research, I got to know that we can use the value property (Signaling) to generate events on the indicator, but I don't get how to use it.

  This is the vi in which I train, this is not the project initial vi, it's just the vi to learn how to generate events on the indicator.

  You create a value of signage as follows: click with the right button on the Boolean value and choose Create > property node > value (signaling)

  If send you a value to this terminal will trigger an event.  For example see the image:

  I have a Subvi used by the user to change some parameters used by the main vi. That is to say, click on settings button and the Subvi appears.

  Not quite. Indicators can only be changed by a user when the VI is running. So, in your case, you would like to use controls. When you read the file for the saved values you can simply update the values of the controls by using local variables or property nodes. Be careful about the conditions of race with local variables.

  I have a state machine that includes certain structures of the event. These event structures are used to control stepper motors using an Arduino Mega microcontroller. I'm using labview in 2012.

  The entrance to one of the events is the variable "pour the entry. I want to use it to control the motor speed and direction.

  If I control the motor as shown in the attached image Working.jpg, then the motor functions correctly. If I fix the motor to the steps variable # then the engine moves at the speed set in the right direction depending on whether the entry "pour" is positive or negative.

  However, I want to control the speed of the engine, not the number of steps, with the variable "pay Input". I checked that the values read by the indicator image INPUT_VALUE works do not are of the same order as the specified values, working, by using the "Set Speed". When I connect the value of the entry to the spindle speed of the motors of the Arduino (not_working.jpg) icon, the engine is running, apparently indefinitely at maximum speed. I don't understand why there is a difference in motor behavior between the value provided by these two methods at the entrance to the speed of the motor. I am confused by the present and don't know where to go from here.

  The structure of the event somehow behaves differently when taking a value from outside the structure to this data inside? or y at - it something to do with the opening of the structure on its first loop?

  You have a very inappropriate design of "state machine" - even if you do not have same event in more than one of your structures of the event (in addition to time-out), looks that get some of your treatment to go forward until you get something very specific (and in which none of your other user events are being processed).

  I strongly suggest that first set you design of State machine - perhaps follow producer/consumer Design Pattern (events) rather than having everything in a loop, the way you have.  If you keep everything in a loop, you should consider redesign so that you at least allow events to deal with rather than stay in a loop for an indefinite period!

  In any case, in the case where work, you send variable "Set Speed (steps per second)" for engines step by step write vi.  But otherwise, you're feeding 'Entry for' value - are they the same? And to let you know, you send only command "write" step by step when the input value to be paid.

  It's a big mess!  For starters, look at the attached picture, get rid of your structure of the event that has "for the entry" and replace it with what I showed in the picture. (In fact, all your event structures can / must be replaced with a similar logic.) Does not need the event structure in all this, you're just more complicated it must be!

  I have a digital control and I want to put the labels (and unit) programmatically. I've created a property for the text of the label node, and then it changed to a knot of Scripture. For now I have just son a constant in this property. When running I get the error "input unit is not compatible with the current unit." However, the property and the constant are strings "roses." Is what I'm trying to do possible? My apologies in advance for a noob question.

  You will not be able to change the value of the property label programmatically. Here is an article in the knowledge base that explains this and a way around:
