  My call log lists only the missed calls (dialed or received calls). He did this for a few weeks now. I received the error message 'exception: java.lang.NullPointerException eception' a few times as well.

  I checked all available software updates and I use the most recent software.

  I fixed it!  It took about an hour on the phone with t-mobile, but we thought about it.   For me, the problem was probably a few information corrupted in my call history.  I need to delete all the call history, and then it was fine.  To do this, you need to install the blackberry desktop manager on your computer if you have not already (be it from the cd that came with the phone or the Web site).  Open Fund Manager and connect the blackberry to the computer.  Select the backup and restore option.  Then, select the advanced option.  On the right side of the screen, there will be a list of all the features of the phone.  Scroll to phone call logs.  It lists the number of records in the phone.  All I had to do was remove all records from phone call and it was corrected.  Now my lists of newspaper calls dialed, received and missed and I no longer get the error message.  I hope it helps you too!

  only, call log I find is to hit the call button, then go to the change of logging and save options re-record they just keep coming back, when they direct connect me is when they appear and each time they beep me during the conversation may be 10 or 20 of the same person in a row arg!

  This is usually caused by the unit with a small amount (or any) of memory. When the memory becomes weak (lower than 12MB in some cases, although there is not a number) the device will start the removal of messages and/or call newspapers to keep the memory. You can check your available memory by going to Options > status and check the free file setting.

  Fastest way to free memory, is to perform a hard reset. Remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered) for about 30 seconds, then insert it again. Also, check out the links below for ways to optimize the memory:

  first of all Hello to everyone and that being said, I * fact * search both Google in general as well as this forum, in particular, prompt even to Vodafone was not any help, here I am, stuck with 2 problems with my BB Storm 9500 (.141 firmware, user of BES, Vodafone Germany) and it drives me crazy. Maybe someone here can help me.

  1. is it possible to load the storm via a USB cable connected to a computer * without * be disconnected from the network?

  Forcing me carry the charger around like a heavy phone (while previous models of BB) user authorized to charge by computer/USB without being offline.

  2. What can I do to see the missed calls in my call log?

  For the moment, I don't have the option to log in the missed calls message window, but to see them I have to unlock the storm via password I try * very * inconvenient (btw, the option to view missed calls directly in the call log was yet another function available with earlier models of BB).

  Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

  There are several positions dealing with the removal of the call logs. A problem on older versions of devices/OS, is that the deleted call log on the unit during a restart. This is consistent with the behavior of the Simulator.

  I found a working solution after a colleague fell on the problem again today.
  It seems that the question is based on a timing problem in the operating system, when the callLogAdded (of the PhoneLogListener) is called the phonelog is not yet written to storage. If you delete the log now another process still works on it and it stays on the phone.

  I solved this problem by running the removal in a new thread and issueing a sleep (2000) before deleting the call log. The 2000 is chosen at random, I don't want to use too much time on it and deleting is not time critical.

  I just wanted to post an update to this issue, MSohm wrote that it was reported, but I have found no information about it being fixed.

  My wife has a Z10 and recently a whole started having problems with the display ID. When she receives a call from a person in its list of conact, it appears as a simple number & does not display the name. Once a call at the end, it then shows the name of the person calling in the call log.

  Someone at - it hsd this problem? Can someone please suggest a solution if you have found a.

  Hope this isn't a stupid question.  I am new to the storm and the forums.  I had my storm for about a month.  Just realized that when I'm in phone mode and do up the call log screen, the entries don't "highlight" when I finger scrolling on the entries. So now I can't tell which entry I am on to reconstruct because it won't highlight.  I would appreciate any idea on how to restore the ability to highlight.  Thank you!

  You should have the ability to highlight an entry in the call log screen.

  Try a battery pull:

  No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated. Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected.

  I just noticed that the call log is followed not calls received or placed. It saves only the missed calls. I was also making the mistake:

  I suggest (IF you want) to scroll to the top of the newspaper to call messages > Menu > view folders > call log > Menu > delete everything prior. This should remove the call log.

  You can also open the Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > advanced and on the right pane will be your BB device databases. Find the call log and press CLEAR.

  Then, while power is on, remove the battery and restart the device.

  See if the problem persists.

  On my "BOLD", icons from time to another stop functioning and only will pull up the call log.  Send icons, browser icons, application icons, etc., does not work and will instead pull up the call log.  Menus will stop working as well; the menu key works and it opens a menu, but I can't choose any menu item. the button disconnect on the phone also stops working.

  Last update: I took it in, and (very smart) thought that the problem was probably linked to the trackball.  Pressing the trackball made the device behaves as if the send key was pressed instead, a hardware error.  Swap warranty - my fourth in a month.

  Stop sharing an ID first. They are not meant to be shared. Then set the sharing of family. Each individual should have their own code.
