There is a problem with the KB3004394 update that causes what you see as well as other issues.

Uninstall this update, your system should return to normal.

While in Windows Update, select View Update History then installed updates. Go to the bottom of the list to KB3004394, right-click on it and choose uninstall.

Microsoft has removed the update of the distribution.

I would try to borrow a keyboard if you can so that you can perform the uninstall.

  • the button which takes me to the home screen is gone?

I restarted my laptop with factory reset last night (I often have that with my devices, do not know why, I just start again from scratch), but even if I did have a problem with this before, when I arrived on the desktop, the button which takes back me to the home screen on the taskbar (included picture) is missing? And I have no idea how to do to get it back. Help, please!

This photo. I have no more of this button. I rely a lot on this button. I don't know why he disappeared this time when I reset my phone several times in the past...

The button has been added only to the point 8.1. The reset back you to 8.0? If this is the case, the button should be once you update to 8.1 again.

  • contact removed, but it still appears on the keyboard on screen

I have saved a contact in my phone two weeks ago and every time I pull the top of the keyboard screen is displayed, then it disappears.

I deleted the contact in the hope that it would seem is more, but it still doesn't work.

I made sure that it was deleted in icloud and it is.

don't know what else to do.

    Hello there shian22,

It seems you see contact Flash on the screen when you open the Contacts application then disappears immediately despite having already removed the app iCloud and Contacts. Me seems that theres something that needs to be updated, so I would start by quitting the Contacts and settings applications:

Force an app to close the iOS
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201330

    1. press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used.
    2. slide to the left to find the application you want to close.
    3. push upward on the overview of the application to close.

When you have done that reboot the device and test again the question:

iOS: switch off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201559

That should refresh or flush all cache seems to indicate that contact. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, let us know how it goes!

  • Keyboard not working on Lenovo Windows laptop and stuck on the login screen

I have a Lenovo WIndows 8 20157 laptop, the keyboard no longer works someday so I restored it.  At that time, I could use an external keyboard.  When the system rebooted, it got to the login screen and will not work.  The screen keyboard and the external keyboard does not work.  The only thing that happens when I use a keyboard (external to the screen, laptop), is that if I hit the button S power options developed.  I can not connect and I can't run it in safe mode.  Already, I have removed the battery and held down the power button, which has not changed anything.

I took it for someone who told me to restore to factory settings and there are drop down menu in the corner of the login screen, but sometimes the mouse works and sometimes it isn't.  For example at the moment I can't open easy access menu to open the keyboard screen, but sometimes I can't.  Any ideas?

Now G participated! Am ready to cuck laptop out the window! Spell checker does not always pick up missin letters cannot be used for work or even for the emails of the doin.

    Hello

    1. What is the number of brand and model of the laptop?
    2. are you having the problem with the keyboard while using applications or with a particular application?
    3. were there any changes made on the computer before this problem?

    Method 1:
Check the link and try to run the Troubleshooter:
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:
If the problem persists I suggest to start the computer in Mode safe mode with network and check whether you are faced with the same question. If the problem does not occur in Mode safe mode with networking you perform the clean boot to find what service or startup item is causing the problem.

    Step 1:
Start the computer using safe mode with networking.

    (a) remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.

    (b) If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts.

    (c) you must press F8 before the Windows logo appears.

    (d) if the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    (e) on the screen Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select the desired mode safe mode with networking option and press enter.

    (f) sign in your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

    Reference: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:
If the issue happen not in Mode safe mode with networking, try to set up your computer in a clean boot state and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3:
I suggest you to use the keyboard on the screen and check if it works. You can check the links
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/type-without-using-the-keyboard-on-screen-keyboard

If you are able to type on the keyboard screen I would contact the manufacturer of your laptop for extra support.

    I hope this information helps!

Where is the ESC on the keyboard screen pro surface

He did fix it, but I also select another keyboard to the keyboard icon.

hard to believe that they let an ESC off other keyboards, since it often takes.

also your instructions to get to the standard keyboard on touch setting did not work.

There is no general category menu settings.

I found it by doing a search, and the setting was in the Pc and devices/typing/Touch Keyboard.

How is my screens are so different from yours.

It's my second pro surface, my 1st was noisy fan problems.

I am seriously considering this revenant as well because of the disadvantages like this.

  • I'm a quadriplegic and use the keyboard to the screen a little and have noticed recently (since the latest updates) went to the prediction of keyboard. Even the option to activate it works disappeared from the menu options. I have

I have gone through a recent updates installed referencing the KB numbers on the Microsoft Update site and have been unable to find everything related to the keyboard.  The prediction of keyboard has been deleted for good, and can if so someone please tell me why (I'm guessing maybe copyright restrictions).

I have also a problem with the keyboard on the screen in which if I use it to type in an application, like IE and then move to another application, such as notepad as soon as I move the cursor of the mouse on any part of the keyboard it will switch back to the last app I was typing in, in this example, IE.  This does not happen every time, but it happens about 80% of the time.

    Thanks for your help.

    Glenn

I had this same problem!  I had to find a way to fix it on my microsoft technical support couldn't figure it out for me lol...

In any case, I discovered that text prediction was only available if the tablet-pc options where it is installed.

To do this, go to control panel > programs > turn on or off windows features > then make sure that Tablet PC components is enabled (you may need your windows for this disc)

That's what fixed it for me... FYI, if you have Windows 7 Basic your isn't text prediction.  If the above doesn't work not the only other problem you have is that your display language is not installed.

To fix this go to the control panel > clock, language and region > Change Display Language > install/uninstall languages

    I hope this helps!

  • Mouse and keyboard not working only not to the login screen

Hi, I was recently infected with Antispyware Soft virus. In my attempt to remove it, my screen went black, so I had to restart my computer. Entering my login screen, I was unable to connect because my keyboard and mouse no longer works. I tried to start the safe mode too and they still do not work on the login screen. However, they work at the start of the BIOS. I looked around, but I couldn't find any option for Legacy USB drivers. I went to a few USB option and select [Enabled] and it still doesn't work to the login screen. I have no PS2 port, so I can't try it. I was also able to use my mouse and keyboard when you attempt a repair of the system to do a system restore, but that solves nothing. I am at a loss what to do. I hope someone is late, as I'll be gone tomorrow/more day late today. I am writing a computer laptop and unable to remember any care my office except the fact, it's Windows Vista.

    Hi HellMuT1,

We recommend to use a different mouse and keyboard, then check the result. If the problem persists, try the following steps.
    1. Insert Windows Vista DVD.
    2. restart your computer.
    3. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
    4. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
    5. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
    6. do not click on install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
    7. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
    8. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
    9. click on command prompt.
    10. type devmgmt.msc and press enter
    11. on the window Device Manager, in the object list, expand mice and other pointing devices.
    12. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    13 expand keyboards.
    14. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    15. Type exit and press ENTER to restart the computer.
    16. remove Vista DVD and restart the computer to see if the keyboard and mouse works fine.

    I hope this helps.
