  • Why is Firefox 42.0 not get updated to be compatible with Norton Identity Safe?

Although the Norton Toolbar now appears to 42.0, Identity Safe function does not work with. Firefox does not provide the same level of assistance navigation that makes Identity Safe from Norton, and using Firefox without the Identity Safe requires several additional keys and many more lost time. Norton make sure that the secure identity must be compatible, and it works fine in Internet Explorer. Norton claims that Firefox "Auditors" are always check program compatibility issues, but how long this process will take? Use Firefox without the Identity Safe is so cumbersome and time-consuming that I might have to try Google Chrome or go back to Internet Explorer, even if I used Firefox since it first came out. • Tried to download the last update, no compatible system, now browser does not work even when I tried to download it again. I have bookmarks, I want to come back.

Currently, I have a Mac, version 10.5.8. My Firefox was slow so I tried to download the latest version. When it was downloaded, a message pops up saying that this version of Firefox is not compatible with my system. Well, ' don't quite no fault "I thought and I tired to go back to my previous browser.
But when I went to click on it, there was a large circle with a line through it. I couldn't open anything. Firefox has actually been removed from my computer.
Now it's ok if I can't start Firefox more but I got thousands of bookmarks, compiled over the years that I really want to go back. And I have no idea how to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello world.

Sorry for the runaround. Just goes to show that you should always have backups for things.

    Thanks anyway.

  • 12.0 Firefox works with Norton Identity Safe?

I recently updated to Firefox 12.0 and wanted to take advantage of Norton free offering their app Identity Safe. I am running Mac OSX 10.7.3 and when he took me to the mac app store, it loaded the extension in Firefox my Ribbon on top, but when I click it, it opens in Safari. It is not compatible with Firefox?

The site of norton said that it is compatible with firefox https://identitysafe.norton.com/, however, I can't find which version it works with. I would try to contact norton to find the exact version numbers, with which it works.

  • 10.0 Firefox says it's not compatible with Norton Toolbar, and Norton Identity Safe. We recently had with upgrade to Firefox 9.0. Update Norton provided for Firefox 9.0 can be incorporated into 10.0?

10.0 Firefox says it's not compatible with Norton Toolbar, and Norton 360 Identity Safe. We recently had with upgrade to Firefox 9.0. CAN the Norton update/solution provided for Firefox 9.0. somehow be incorporated into 10.0?

Norton made me send updates/patch via Live Update and my 10 Firefox now compatible with Norton Toolbar and Norton 360, Identity Safe, etc.

  • Why can't Norton Identity Safe compatibility be integrated into the latest versions of Firefox? IE seems not to have problems with it.

Firefox constantly asks me to upgrade to the latest version, which is not a problem as long as the new generation is compatible with applications that I serve throughout and rely on every day. I use the 40.0.3 version and it wants me to update to 41.0.2. If the Norton Identity Safe toolbar work with my current version of Firefox, what is the compatibility issue with a newer version of Firefox? IE does not appear to have this problem of update... which makes me consider the switch back to IE as my default browser. I rely on the Identity Safe to take care of my connection problems, and there is no need to deal with problems of incompatibility. I know I'm not alone in finding this aggravation with updates. (I use Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit).

Sorry, this is a change in the types of code Add - ons are allowed to include. It was supposed to change in Firefox 40, but at the request of vendors such as Symantec, it was postponed to 41 of Firefox. I don't think this change will flip over. Norton is working on a new version, but I understand that it takes longer than expected.

Here's what I suggest for users who need Norton password security features:

Instead of freezing your Firefox on a non secure version, consider using the Extended Support Release (ESR). It is designed for businesses that require a cycle time longer between changes to the features, but anyone can use it. ESR is currently based on Firefox 38. It will get updates of security over the coming months, but not to get new features, so changes in Firefox 41 concerning the compatibility of the add-on will not be out for a good time.

Norton is likely to continue to support the ESR until the new toolbar update is finished, maybe next month. After that, I don't know what they will do because normally they don't take over a small range of versions.

If you decide to try it, here's how I suggest to install:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 38.3.0esr of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) simply rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx41

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\Fx41

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Success?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \Fx41\Plugins
    • \Fx41\browser\plugins
  • Is more recent (10.1) compatible with Norton 360 Firefox toolbar web secure / identity security

It's REALLY annoying when the first notice of the existence of this last version says toolbar from Norton 360 (Safe Web and Identity Safe) are not yet supported by Norton, and then the subsequent availability of this update notice is COMPLETELY silent on this issue.

The last time that I've upgraded, Norton was 'so-called' press the toolbar, I found myself run Norton LiveUpdate 13 times before the toolbar installed.

Anyone know about Norton and this latest version.

I'm PRETTY sure that many Firefox users use Norton 360 and Moxilla needs to do a better job of at least WE ADVISE if an available upgrade is or is not compatible.

    Thank you!!!

  • Norton Identity Safe is incompatible with Firefox 5 How downgrade to an earlier version that is compatible?

I've recently switched to Firefox as my default browser (previously Microsoft Internet Explorer - which was not very reliable), I have also recently upgraded to Version 5.0.1 but now cannot run Norton Identity Safe (or the Norton Toolbar). If it's not really compatible, I want to go back to an earlier version of Firefox to allow me to run Norton Toolbar and Identity Safe.
I would like your advice please.
    Thank you
    John

See Norton for a fix. It seems that when they have updated their Firefox for 5 Firefox extensions, they not be providing for the possibility that a 5.0.1 release may be required.

The strange thing is that 5.0.1 was not even an update of ' for Windows & Linux. Other than the number, on these platforms 5.0 & 5.0.1 are exactly the same. Only users of Mac OSX has got the real update, that has been done to solve specific problems in Firefox caused by Apple in the new version of the OS 10.7 Lion last week, and an Apple update for 10.5 and 10.6 at the same time.

Only users who have downloaded a complete new installation of the package in the last week or two for Windows & Linux would have got Firefox 5.0.1 - and it's only because the Mozilla download servers run the same version number, it cannot provide 5.0.1 for Mac and 5.0 for Windows & Mac.

You Tube and other sites do not play video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after the last update for both. Adobe Flash works on other sites but not You tube and sites that can have embedded videos from You Tube, I'm not sure.

Adobe Flash not crushed and no error message is visible. All that shows is a black screen for Flash video. Make a right click of the screen shows only a non-interactive 'a film has not loaded' and the clickable link to the home page of Adobe.
