The latest version of Firefox, but keep web page stating that I am under the old version is no longer supported

I continue to download and install the latest version of Firefox (8). The browser indicates that I have Firefox 8. However, on Google Mail and a few other sites, I get a message saying that I am under a version update of Firefox does not support.

The article says to reset the following, which you included as having:

  • General.UserAgent.extra.microsoftdotnet (first element bulleted under 1.)
  • General.UserAgent.override (comment: it is very probably that you the origin of the problem)

NOTE: restart Firefox after resetting these elements.

Those are both shown as "1. If they exist, you may also need to reset: "following step 3. (1. should be a 4.; it is an error in the formatting of the article.)
