The loan time CPU and reservations

Hi all

Is there a corellation between CPU ready time and CPU reserves? Is it normal that time of CPU ready to abandon if CPU reservations are defined? Shouldn't the time loan CPU be influenced only by the total number of vCPUs assigned to virtual machines and physical processors in the host?

Thank you

Dan

Depends on how many vCPUs are in your virtual machine.  The new processors from Intel and AMD, act as NUMA systems.  Since they have the controller onboard memory, local memory is faster than remote memory.  Each processor has a memory attached to it, so the local memory for the processor is "faster" than the memory attached to another treatment on the system.  ESX will typically do a good job for you to manage, but personally, I would get as many cores as I can, more bang for your buck.  If you run vSMP large vm, then these two systems should perform similarly.

    Hi, experts:

What is the difference between the time cpu and cpu in AWR db?

As a general rule, 'DC CPU', 'CPU Time' (and 'DB CPU of "TIME") are references to the same (i.e., a measure of the amount of time the instance of Oracle on the CPU), but to avoid any risk of misunderstanding, it is best to give us a little background labels - i.e. lines 6 or 7 containing an example of every use of one of your AWR reports

  • How to get the loan from CPU percentage?

    Hi people,

When I read this blog of Mr. Epping http://www.yellow-bricks.com/ESXTOP/ it seems that CPU ready is indicated as a percentage %, while in the vsphere Performace console | The Advanced tab, it shows you only in milliseconds per 20 seconds.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

It depends on the interval you are looking at.

The 20000 is valid if you get real-time statistics, where the length of the interval is 20 seconds.

In the example above, the script gets its Historical interval 1stats, which has a range of 300 seconds.

    That's what I do with $_. Interval * 1000 which is 300 * 1000 = 300000

I used the timewarp, but the sound is not affected.

It is to be expected. Only the native time remapping affects sound, but given that EI is not an audio processing application, the quality is terrible. You must use the hearing or a similar program.

  • at the same time production and measuring the pulse

    Hello everyone,

I'm generates a pulse for specific time. Now, I want to measure within the same daq card. I've done Vi for him but he has an error. I have USB daq-6343. I enclose my Vi here.

The problem is I am able to get pulses generated at PIN 6 PFI but reading Vi watch time-out error.

I plugged the wire between PFI 1 pin and PFI 6 pins on the DAQ card.

So please suggest me what to do to eliminate this error.

    Thanks & best regards,

I just looked at your original vi, I had looked only at the most distant (corrected) a previously.  I don't see a good reason to read timeout error you have immediately.  Record of an error timeout on your attempt reading suggests that the code was executed without error so far, including the beginning of the generation of pulses.  That would leave wondering on physical cable connection or possibly some undesirable side effects caused by your cleanup code when you three States a PFI lines.

The other issue was my suggestion to leave DAQmx Timing.vi outside of the configuration string entirely for cases like this where you only want to build a single pulse.  To be honest, it's a habit & practice I adopted a long time ago.  I thought one of the reasons was that the finished pulse trains required a minimum of 2 samples.  A bit of test code showed me that it isn't true, if my memory tells me there was a time when it * used * to be true.  I don't remember if I have errors or if the task has chosen to generate 2 pulses with just a warning, or something.  I just remember that, while he was working on a module that was supposed to be able to produce any number of pulses from 1 to N, I found that I wasn't actually able to support the case of 1 pulse by asking just 1 sample over sample mode.

    * Anyway *, the other reason to avoid sampling over for a single pulse mode is that in the past, this would consume actually 2 counters on DAQ cards.  Generated the pulse (s) while the other was a help that triggered the first to control the number of generated pulses.  It was unnecessary as you could * also * generate a single pulse leaving the DAQmx Timing.vi out of the config, a method that used only 1 meter.

X-series cards (like yours) don't consume over 2 programmable counters of the user to generate finite pulse trains, so the lesson I learned a long time ago and was trying to convey is perhaps not so important in your case.  I recommend it even if you know that you will always generate a single pulse, simply because he considered the standard way to generate a single pulse (as seen in examples of navigation).

  • difference between the real time module and module fpga

    Hi experts,

I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between the FPGA and the module in real time (in short).

My understanding is that the FPGA module facilitates code LV that can then be designed for the specific advice of RIO, I have used this a bit in the past.

The real time module, I'm a little more unsure about, all I know is that it allows the creation of a 'real time' i.e. deterministic environment.

My request is this: I wish I had several control loops running on two tables of RIO, with the host PC mainly used for recording data and user interface. I see that I have no need of RT on the host (Win XP should be good).

Do I need the RT module?

You are right.  In the scenario you describe, you won't need to LabVIEW RT. LabVIEW RT is used to create a deterministic execution on specific targets for intel such as the PXI-8106 and PXI-8108.  You can still use strings and floating point on RT.

  • I have problems with my computer with the time remaining after I reset the clock and made sure it was on the correct time zone and summer time has been check the battery has also been replaced

and it will not keep the exact time it will keep accelerate at least 5 minutes or more.

I don't know what else to do about it. You can someone help me?

I still find myself make too many assumptions.
First of all, I guess your derivative of clock occurs during the time when the computer is running and not during the period where it is off (or immediately early)?
Second, I'm assuming that when you run the command "w32tm/Resync" above, the clock made it back to the correct time and no errors were reported?
Third, you say that your clock drift 5 minutes or more, but you do not tell us how long this gain occurs.  It is two times more win if you wait twice as long to check?  Is the gain gradual or sudden?  Keep he wins or if he stops wins once it arrives before?

Conditions of default for a computer connected non-member of the field, the time will be updated network-time only at the start and then once a week.  If you are winning too much too quickly, you can adjust how many times your computer asks for time.  Computers in the domain must be more precise and one every hour for a default time synchronization.  You can set your W32tm to that of a computer in the domain to resynchronize your computer more often (SpecialPollInterval).  Here are two articles that describe the clock settings:

"How to synchronize the time with the time service Windows in Windows XP"
"Time Windows Services tools and settings.

  • the clients VMware CPU and CPU cores

    Hello

I'm looking a bit and I know that for the physical esx host you can get information about the cpu and carrots.

When I check the same for vmware customers, I only get the info from the cpu. For License audit of needs and so on it would be useful that this info could be separated as follows:

Get - VM | Select Name, NumvCPUs

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Pegasjus

    Try this

    Get-VM | Select Name,  @{N="CPU Sockets";E={$_.ExtensionData.Config.Hardware.NumCPU}},  @{N="Cores per Socket";E={$_.ExtensionData.Config.Hardware.NumCoresPerSocket}}

Usually I wish I could put more resources behind Essbase, not less. Why would you do?

Are you thinking of something like SQL Server Resource Governor?

If you are in a virtual machine environment, high-level products VMWare don't allow guys IT fairly accurately the range up to a server/server farm and governed how much CPU/DASD Gets a virtual machine.

  • Is it possible to rotate the 2 versions of Firefox on a machine at the same time? and how?

    I run a workstation
    Lubuntu, 12.04
I ask this because Firefox is unable to upload photos on ebay when new versions are available.
This was true of the versions 22 and 23.
So I manually set and use Firefox 21 because it works.

You need to add the - No.-line switch remote control to start the (second) version of Firefox that you only want to use occasionally.

The - No.-switch cache of the browser, so it cannot be detected and you can not open an external link in a browser has started this way, don't use only not this switch to start the default browser or profile.

This switch work from the same version of Firefox with a separate profile and begin another version of Firefox with its own profile.

Without this switch, the startup code Firefox detects that an instance of Firefox is already open end opens a new window in this forum, and you will not be able to start another version of Firefox.

    Hello

does anyone have a Toshiba Satellite L10-104 with more than 1 GB of RAM installed? I'm one of these laptops for upgrade and reinstall the operating system and other software. Toshiba says that it only supports 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) of RAM but Intel says techdocs this Notebpook (i855GM) chipset will support 2 GB RAM Max.

According to the specifications of l 10:

    standard: 256 MB
    maximum extension: 1 024 MB
    technology: DDR RAM

So, I don't think that it can support up to 2 Gb

In your case, I think that the numbers is not reliable due to errors of instrumentation (for example, I saw 0 time processor in an extremely overloaded system).
