The lost memory of Satellite L300D-13 s

My L300D-13s was bought with 3Gbytes of RAM, but recently has begun to see the/use only 1 GB after you start the system.
After you open the laptop up to two modules have been identified: in the first (top) slot a module and 1 GB in slot 2A 2Gbyte.

To refresh the 2Gbyte module failure modules was exchanged around: 2G was in the slot 1 and 1 G in slot 2. Now laptop computer has 2Gbytes of RAM after startup.
I conclude that the bars of memory are good, but something is wrong with the slot 2 of the motherboard.

What should I try next?

Kevin.

Hi kscrosbie,
See a servicepartner and ask for help!

This problem can be based on a place of the cold junction or a controller memory defectiv...
There is therefore no chance to fix it by yourself...

you could test with another module,
sometimes (no experience if it can happen to your machine) modules of memory "don't like each other" and one of them stops working...
but as you say one Bank accepts none of the strip of memory, it sounds like a motherboard for me failure...

hope that there is still a warranty on this machine...

  • Lost drivers for Satellite L300D Vista

I have a model of Satellite L300D PSLC0E and just cleaned installed with Win 7 vista, all is ok so far but he lost all my drivers for Vista and do not know what I need for drivers win 7.
I had a quick glance for driver downloads, but don't know what to download and what is most important.

If you have the Win7 update you need not additional drivers.
Just if you want to do the new install of Win7, then you have all the necessary drivers.

If you don't have problems with Win7 why you think you need Vista drivers?

  • How to increase the video memory dedicated Satellite C660?

I want to increase the video memory dedicated 64 MB to 700 MB for the model Satellite C660

I do not know what model you have exactly and can't see the exact specification for laptop, but usually with more RAM more than memory will be used for graphical operations.

  • Cannot change the size of the video memory in Satellite L30-113

I have a Satellite l30-113 which has 1 GB memory and windows Vista.

The size of memory that has been attributed to the vga is 319 MB.
How can I decrease the video memory?

    Hello

do you really mean 319MB? This machine only supports a maximum video memory 256 MB shared memory. So if you might have 32 MB (which is how I imagine rather memory assigned to your VGA) you can increase the video memory of this machine by changing the value of memory assigned in the bios of your machine.

Do you know how to enter the bios?

  • Strange problem with the module memory series Satellite Pro 4300

I have a laptop Toshiba satellite pro 4300 series with 64 MB onboard + 64 MB Module and I want to upgrade my memory to 320 MB. I bought two ram of 128 MB each. I removed the 64 MB module and I put a 128 MB module into the slot (A) one, but I saw that the total memory is 128 MB again.

I removed the module again and I put the second module in the connector (A), but I saw that the total memory is 128 MB again. After that, I put the two modules in my notebook (Slot A and slot B) but I see that the total memory is 192 MB. This means that it recognizes each module as 64 MB as opposed to 128 MB. Dose anyone know why this happens?
And what do I do about it?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Well, I put t know why this happens. It seems that the 128 MB modules are 64 MB modules. I know that it of strange but I have only this explanation. You are 100% sure that both modules of memory 128 MB?
In my opinion, you should check the bars of memory if they have 128 MB.

    Hello

the Satellite A100 supports an Intel 945GM processor 8MB - 128 MB of graphics memory shared memory, it's true. But
as far as I know it of not possible to allocate this memory shared manually, it happens automatically.

If the application running more graphic must map memory then the OS will be automatically increases this value.

It seems that this laptop came with 512 MB of memory. In my opinion you must upgrade the memory of 1024MB if you want to use the full 128 MB shared memory.

  • Question on the extension memory by Satellite A100 PSAA9E

The original manual (1997) for this machine says 2-concerts is the maximum memory for this sub - 2 machine, but today compatible Gig 2 chips are available.

Can I switch to 4 GB? (or is there another aspect of this machine which limits the memory to 2-concerts?)

    Hello

Upgrade memory depends on the chipset.
If the chipset would support only 2 GB, you can then use max 2 GB.

I think that if the manual says that 2 GB is max which is possible, then it will be good

Of course you can check that as well.
Verify your Intel chipset and then look on the Intel site for more details and properties of this chipset.

    See you soon

  • How can I increase the video memory dedicated Satellite C660?

    Hello

I'm on a Toshiba Satellite C660 and I was wondering if it was possible to increase the minimum 64 MB dedicated video memory. I've got 1696 MB total available graphics memory and 8gbs of RAM.
I have had a look in the BIOS settings but couldn't find something useful.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. There is not an option where you can change it manually. It works automatically.

With more RAM, more memory will be used for graphical operations.

  • Question on the module memory for Satellite A60

I have a Satellite A60-352, and I was wondering if I can put my module memory of my laptop on my desk. And another thing, where I find the module in my cell phone because I'm not.

    Thank you

    Hello

The fact is that the A60 was equipped with an internal memory (256 MB or 512 MB).
This memory is not removable and so you only have one memory for an upgrade slot.
Usually the A60 manages the PC2100 200 pin SODIMM (266 MHz) DDR modules.
So, you can use the modules from different manufacturers that support the above specifications.

    Hi all

I recently bought new ram (2 x 2 GB) for my Toshiba A200-1DN and I would really appreciate if you could give a step by step guide to install myself.

Also I heard only static could be bad time doing so. Is this true? If so, how can I make sure that I am static free?

My information system is as follows: -.
    Intel Core Duo T2350 @ 1.86 Ghz 32 bit
Running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
    Current installed Ram - 2 x 512 MB (1 GB)

Sorry if my questions seem silly, but I'd appreciate any help.

    Thanks in advance: o)

    Hello

I can't give you a step by step installation instruction, but I can give you a [LINK: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a205/laptop-disassembly-1.htm] where the images say more then thousand words. :)

Regarding static electricity: just take the modules on the edges one avoid touching their on these small black squares (the memory chips). Otherwise there is no special notice, I can give you...

  • Partitioning the hard drive on Satellite L300D

    Hi all.

I have a L300D series and I'm going to restore it, but I want to change the size of the backup partition. The current configuration is the C drive is 74.3 drive GB and D GB 73.2.
Is anyway to change sizes. The recovery program is also on the D drive.
    Thank you. waynybob

At first, I must say that I hope that you created the recovery DVDs. You can use this recovery for the new installation of the OS.
You're right, recovery image is saved on the D partition, but you can use it with the factory only settings.

With other words, after change of sheets you won't be able to use it more, so it is very important to have this disc restore DVD.
After the clean OS install, you can change the partition structure.

    I'm sorry, I don't speak of ram DDR2 I belive.

    Hello

Your machine currently has 1 GB of RAM, you can add more RAM using the more information:

    Dual channel memory architecture
    Two connectors DIMM DDR2 240-pin
    Supports the PC-6400 (800 MHz) DDR2 DIMM PC-4200 (533 MHz) and PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

Only unbuffered non - ECC memory, supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB
Supports up to 4 GB *.
Note: 32 bit PC cannot solve a full 4.0 GB memory.

    Hello

I'm a little confused about your ad m... You wrote that you restore your laptop to factory settings, but now you can t get WLAN and webcam to work?
Normally, if you restore settings factory using the Toshiba or HDDrecovery recovery disc, all the drivers and tools are installed and everything will work.
