  • The mapped drives disappear after logoff or restart.

I can not get a mapped drive to stay mapped after a logoff in Windows 7.  If I map the drive by right clicking post work or the command prompt (net use f: \\sharename / persistent: Yes), once the user disconnects or restarts, the players disappear.

This occurs only for Windows 7 users.  We have no problem with users under XP.  Someone has an idea?  I tried to connect with different user names, disabling firewall of 3rd party client, disable UAC, etc..

    Hi CSholmire,

Please let us know your concern.

I suggest you the methods below. Try these and find the question after each method:

    Method 1:

    1. Open a command prompt as the user that readers are not remembered. Do not use the option "Run as Administrator". In this case, we are unwilling to do this. At the command prompt, type: net use
    2. Does say something like this: use C:\>net. New connections will not remember.
    3. If it is said that they "don't remember", then you need to change this. Type: use net p:yes

That change the setting of the system for the user to perform the workouts be remembered all the time and the will is the default action.

If the above is not the case, then map the drive through the command prompt and see if the mapping is known.

    NET use p:yes

    NET use r: \\servername\sharename

You can change the drive letter a: above to any letter free as you like. However, remember that if you use a letter that is too close to the beginning of the alphabet you can overlap with the USB devices and then one or the other will be absent. You can replace the r: with * and it will start with the next free drive letter starting at the bottom of the alphabet. This should make the reader remember through log and restart.

    Method 2:

The long-term solution is a registry editing that would get the mapped drives visible to standard and administrative sessions.

    1. Press Windows + R and type: regedit
    2. In Regedit, navigate to HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft / / Windows //Current Version / / policies / / system.
    3. Create a new REG_DWORD entry named "EnableLinkedConnections".
    4. Set the value to 1.
    5. Restart after you add the registry entry and the programs will be able to see the drives mapped forever.

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tells you how to change the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • TS4.1 WinXP SP3, IDE slow response * only * if the mapped drive open in teststand... file?

I have a strange situation here. First of all, I must describe the system:

    • 2 machines both with TS4.1 IDEs installed Win XP SP3,

    • Machine 1 has logical file of common sequence, which is shared with the two machines via a drive mapped "T": sequence files are in 'T:\Logic '.

    • Both machines have paths of research with the root t: as the last path in the search list.

Mounting on machine 1 is fine - seq files can be opened in teststand, sailed around, etc. without any problems.

However, on machine 2, the IDE behaves normally ONLY if you drag the following files to change or double-click to edit. As soon as you open a movie file using the open a TestStand sequence file dialog box, click anywhere on the IDE creates a large volume of network traffic and the IDE "hangs" for a few seconds (I've seen as long as 5) and is completely insensitive (there is a direct correlation between the 'pic' termination of network traffic and the TS IDE becomes sensitive).

I did a netstat - ano queries and I don't see new ports opened upwards, so all this is paid by the regular windows file sharing link. If I open directly from the w: drive, it is also the...

-This problem is not continuous: he has been fine for several weeks and came back yesterday. I was lucky enough to find the "do not open any files from within teststand" workaround and continue working normally.

If you have opened a file in the application, then you exit TS and restart it and all is well again.

Any ideas? It is UNBELIEVABLY BORING.

This is probably the problem. Subdirs, especially on a network drive to the research should generally be avoided.

I would recommend against using the options "search subdirectories", even in the case not connected to the network, since then, not only can it lead to performance problems, it can make unintentionally using the incorrect module because the module where you want to say, if you come to specify the name of the file and rely on the recursive search could be ambiguous and have several possible matches. It is best to use a fixed search with a partial if possible relative path directory. For example, if your search directory is c:\mc-tas and you want to refer to a module in GIP\LLB, you can simply specify GIP\LLB\Mymodule.llb for the path in your steps and you would then not need to c:\mc-tas a recursively searched subdir.

    Hope this helps,

For the life of me I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong... The printer still works fine if I swap back to my old HDD so I know its something I do (or not do)... I tried to figure this out all day and have installed several drivers in normal mode and compatibility without result.

When I open devices and printers on the old drive HARD the printer name reads "Dell Laser Printer 5100cn PCL6" but when I check the devices and printers on my new SSD it reads "Dell Printer 5100cn PS"... So, I know that I do not want to install the same as I have done before and I can't understand what I installed... I use a Toshiba Satillite P75 A7200 if that matters...

    Help, please

    Hi Roydub83,

Thanks for writing on the Dell Community Forum.

Please uninstall all the printer driver on the system installed for Dell Laser 5100cn printer and then install the driver on Windows 8 using this link http://dell.to/1ETptNA. Install in compatibility mode if the installation does not engage.

Answer please if you have any other questions.

    Have a nice day ahead.

  • 4.0EA3: cannot access the mapped drives (Windows) in the file browser dialog boxes

All windows files Explorer allows access to local (hard drive) C: and D: (DVD) drives. It is not possible nor access readers mapped (that refer to our server of UNC file paths) - i.e. the network drives.

I tried the following access to the file Explorer:

    File-> open: does not work

File Data-> shape-> open: does not work

    Tools-> Preferences-> environment-> Logs-> Browse-> Log Directory: does not work

It worked / works great in SqlDev 3.2.2

I tried to dismiss the problems of connection and authentication to our SAN (network drives are fully accessible from Windows Explorer and same 11.1.2.2.0 JDeveloper) - I created a drive mapping on my hard drive. Can't see this mapping within the SqlDev either

    Concerning

    Systems and Network Manager

Pool Hayes Arts & Community School

    Hi Graham,

The first thing you want to do is set up the sharing options on the drive or folder you want to share. This requires you to be on the computer that hosts the drive or folder.

If the administrator of the computer had followed the steps mentioned here, you would have access to the library files:

    1. Click on the "Windows Explorer" icon in the lower left corner of the Windows taskbar to open the Windows Explorer file browser.
    2. Navigate to the folder to be shared.
    3. Right-click on the folder to share and select "sharingwith... »
    4. Click on the option of 'some people' in the context menu. Theshare with users'interface opens.
    5. Type a user name, or click on the arrow pointing down to the list of users.
    6. Select each user access to the folder or click on the "everyone" option. Each added user appears in the list of "users". Click on the button 'Add '.
    7. Click on the arrow pointing down next to each user and select the level of permissions for this user. The options are ' read/write,""read-only ' and 'Delete'.
    8. Click on the 'Share' button. The folder is now shared with the users specified through the home network. A confirmation window appears.
    9. Click on the button 'fact' to close the 'sharing ' window.

Please let us know the result. If the problem is still not resolved, we will be happy to help you further.

  • lost the mapped drive

Our office has a small working group, while using Windows 7.  To keep all our data files on one of the three (as a server).  My computer is mapped to the drive and I can see the 'server' in my view of the network, but he does not see the drive on this computer that we keep all data on.  My partner has exactly the same computer as mine, and she does not have this problem.

Thank you very much for the input.  I worked last night with a MSFT engineer and we discovered that there was a conflict of IP address 192.168.x.101 has be confused for some reason any with 192.168.X.100.  When we handed the dynamic IP address on the other computer on the network to a static address192.168.X.120.

    So far so good.

  • You can use local drive as the mapped drives raw groups

We have a new host with vShere4U1 installed on a couple of mirrored disks.  The host will initially run a SQL server and the operating system will be SAN (fibre) as all of our other machines are virtual host.  We do not have enough space on the SAN or the budget to upgrade to allow us to run the newspapers/Db SQL, then the host was purchased with an extra 14 discs (much less expensive) who were divided into two disk RAID groups 1 + 0 (410Gb & Go 540)

I can attach disks locak to the host, but it is shaped as a vmfs and the dbo wants to use these discs as raw as he wants to use the size of the set and is limited to 256GB VMDK in the vmfs.

Is there a way to present records in vSphere while they give me the opportunity to fix to the virtual machine as raw disks similar to the san, or in any other way.

I'm a pretty confident user of ESX without being an expert (admin typical average closed sys - too many hats) and basic linux would be appreciate some comments/help.

    See you soon

If you remove the data store and then choose a block size, you can have a data store up to 2 TB in a single LUN. If you need you can extend the data to 62 to using extensions store.

You really want to use raw disks. I don't know if it is possible anyway.
