The music on the data drive storage

I have a computer Dell with 58.5 GB on drive C and 229 concerts on drive D (Data). Can I move my Itunes Music on the data reader without going through a future problem adding music. My C drive tends to fill with photos, etc., so I keep on moving them to the D drive. I would also do it to the music from Itunes.

Get a bigger internal drive and a clone. Best solution in the long term.

• root properties in the connected data store: error when accessing the date/time storage

When you browse the properties my connected data store I get an error message when you try to read the value of the property of 'storage date/time': object doesn't support this property or method.

Here is a minimal example:

Dim oMyDataStore, MyProperty, oMyProperties
Set oMyDataStore = Navigator.ConnectDataStoreByParameter ("TOC", "" & "C:\Program Files (x 86) \National 2012\Examples\Data\Example_data.tdm" & "" ')
Set oMyProperties = oMyDataStore.RootElements (1). Properties
For each MyProperty in oMyProperties
Call MsgBoxDisp ("property name:" & MyProperty.Name & + "\n"&"property value:" & MyProperty.Value "")
Next

Why can I not access this particular property by default?

Hi Phex,

for the date/time properties, an object called UsiTimeDisp is returned. This object allows to that extend features of service as access to each part separately (day, year, hour, seconds,...) of your date/time value. If you want to print the value of time with MessageBoxDisp, you can use the VariantDate this object property.

Your code might look like this then:

Dim oMyDataStore, MyProperty, oMyProperties
Set oMyDataStore = Navigator.ConnectDataStoreByParameter ("TOC", "" & "C:\Program Files (x 86) \National 2012\Examples\Data\Example_data.tdm" & "" ')
Set oMyProperties = oMyDataStore.RootElements (1). Properties
For each MyProperty in oMyProperties
MyProperty.DataType = eTime Then
Call MsgBoxDisp ("property name:" & MyProperty.Name & + "\n"&"property value:" & MyProperty.Value. ' ") VariantDate)
On the other
Call MsgBoxDisp ("property name:" & MyProperty.Name & + "\n"&"property value:" & MyProperty.Value "")
End If
Next

I hope this helps.

• SRM 5.8 requires me to burn the data store storage in both placeholders?

Honestly, I'm having a nightmare of a time finding documentation on how all the pieces of 5.8 SRM relate to each other. I try to use the VSphere vs array based replication and I deployed on two sites and "twinned" replication servers, but nothing more.

So I'm at the point where I have to "Configure Placeholder Datastore", which States:

You specify a placeholder for data store Site Recovery Manager use to back up virtual machines placeholder on the recovering site.

You must configure a data store space on the two sites of the pair to establish a bidirectional protection and restore.

Well I don't see where I could specify that if I do two-way or reprotect, however, when I go to configure the placeholder data store it lists only data warehouses that are connected to my SOURCE site. If am only go simple failover to my protect site dealing so how do I enter my site protect data above warehouses?

You can specify the inventory maps and data warehousing space reserved for both sites, but you must first select the desired site.

Hope this helps,

• Plan for the creation of new virtual machine with 3 TB data drive

We have an old server, we need to virtualize, and one thing that we need is a lot more storage. We have approximately 3.25 TB of available for this machine (250 GB for the OS and 3 to for the data drives), but I'm going in circles trying to find the best approach for this server. It is not possible to separate the data between several players because of the way the files are indexed. I have created a virtual machine with 2 TB of disk space (for the readers of OS and data) and added 1.25 TB of disk space I want to add on the data reader, but it does not seem possible to add 1.25 TB without destroying the data on the first disk of 2 TB. What is the best approach? Create a single disc for my virtual machine that is 250 GB and then add in two separate disks of 1.5 TB for storage and combine them within Windows?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hello

Unfortunately, the maximum size of virtual disk to a virtual computer is 2 TB - 512 bytes. In you case it should create two or three separate virtual disks and combine them (disks RAID 0 or concatenate). Another way (IMHO besser way) is to create several virtual drives and mount using NTFS mount points.

An example:

C:\Data is a folder on one of the virtual disks. Create a second virtual disks and create the C:\Data\Data2 folder. Rather than assign a drive letter for the newly created disk, you can mount it in the Database2 folder. This gives you the ability to move the largest files on separate virtual drives without lose you the structure of folders.

• Can I format the HARD drive without losing data?

Hi all
I used the restore CD to solve a problem on my system (blue screen) and everything was formatted... including the partition where I had music etc...

Is it possible to format my hard drive without losing the data on the partition?

Hi guys

To my knowledge it s any recovery procedure, you would use; in both cases the drive HARD will be formatted!
Using the disc using the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure and recovery HARD drive will be formatted and you will lose the data on the second partition too.

As far as I know both put the laptop and HARD drive on the same State as on the first day of purchase!

the hard drive of my computer is purchased full.i a drive.how external hard change outside the primary disk so I can download music easily.right now my external backup just my computer that isn't doing me good

original title: external hard drives

You don't want to change your external drive to your main drive.

You can move your music files on the external drive - or you can move other data on the disk to make room for your music on the internal drive.

What applications do you use to play music?

As described in the first link below, you can move your full "My Documents" folder on the external drive. Alternatively, you can simply move your music files. If such an arrangement would give you a satisfactory performance, however, depends on how your external drive is connected (for example, USB 1.1, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire, network) and other hardware features of your computer.

Not all of the following conditions will be applied to you, but some of the tips can be useful.

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space. The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive. You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you. Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.

• You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
• You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
• You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
• You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
• You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
• You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)
• See also:

" How to recover disk space on Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP computers? ."

" Forty ways to free disk space ."

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long. The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive. If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location. You can not simply move the files.

• Need help to replace a physically C drive on several computer disks. I can't LOOSE the data on the secondary drive.

I got 2 hard drives, a small disc with XP Pro and a big drive for storage and memory intensive programs. The disc is dead - physically (he's grinding wheels), not because of software problems. I managed to boot from the XP disk and copied as much as possible on an external drive to install on a new hard drive. Externally will not take the backup file. After that I restarted depui the XP disc, my secondary drive is no longer recognized. I copy the contents of the C drive on an external drive. Here are my questions:
1. can I ghost the info on a new hard drive and skip the installation? Reason I have CS3 on drive F, but it components installed on the C drive (where CS2 was before I upgraded). I do not have my Adobe CS3 here records because it allowed multi, and my records are currently out of State with the other licensee.
2. If I install the new disk, starting from the old drive with XP disc, can I ghost? Hi jdohugh,

Thanks for posting. If I read your post correctly your hard drive with your operating system on it died, so you lost your operating system and do not have to reinstall but you try to get down the important data before the reinstall.

1 Q: can I ghost the info on a new hard drive and skip the installation? Reason I have CS3 on drive F, but it components installed on the C drive (where CS2 was before I upgraded). I do not have my Adobe CS3 here records because it allowed multi, and my records are currently out of State with the other licensee.

A. Si your drive with your operating system does not work, I do not think you can ghost it and reinstall as the image would not work. With Adobe CS3 disks, you will need to contact Adobe and get them to perform the installation of additional supports. Simply copy the files likely will not work to reisntall the application.

2. Q. If I install the new disk, starting from the old drive with XP disc, can I ghost? (I have a tour customized for several readers) When I started the drive C before - he tried to install on my F drive. A: as I said in question 1 if your operating system drive does not an image would most likely fail or be corrupt. If read correctly the other part of the question you the system tried to start installation on your f:\ that matches your drive program and now you cannot access the files on it? With the last part of this question, you will need to contact Seagate to see what makes their software, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by using.

3. Q. When the new drive, I get up and running, can I sign out the F drive, plug it back and Windows will see it? CS3 & Quark will still work if I have to do a fresh install?

A. Si you reconnect an extra drive to XP, the operating system should see it regardless of what it was connected to previously. With regard to your programs, if it is a new operating system you load then Yes, you will need to reinstall these applications on the operating system, and they should work with no problems provided that the drive is working correctly.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

• Access the data on the hard drive

My hard drive on my laptop failed. I replaced and reinstalled windows vista, but I could not access any data on the old hard drive. I was able to install it as a backup of my desktop computer hard drive and I can see the directory structure, however, whenever I try to access the data in My Documents, I get an error G:\users\moe\documents\my is music is not accessible access is denied. Any ideas how I can access this information, assuming that it is not a physical problem with the hard drive. I have the password of windows I used to access the computer, but I don't know how to use it since this drive is not the one I am running windows from. The computer that I use to access the data on the hard drive is on windows XP, if that makes a difference.

The computer tries to access the old hard drive and the old hard drive are XP. It is a forum for Vista. All the procedures I have on this issue are only for Vista. You should repost your question in the right place.

• Installation of fresh Win7 x 64 OS on SSD but storage/user on the HARD drive files

I want to know the best way to go about it. I recently built a PC but I'm looking to move to an SSD soon. When I do that, I'll do a new installation for the two discs.

I want the SSD to contain only the operating system (boot and so on) while the HARD drive contains all of my other information, inluding my user files (I don't really want to have to create my own folders 'My Documents, my music, my videos' on the HARD drive, but have rather the default ones out there.) He calls where my applications are stored, I want to have the ability to choose where to install the. Things like desktop clients and e-mail I want all my games on the SSD (many GBs) will be on the HARD disk. Is it possible to do?

I want to just make sure that my 'set up' will be done correctly.

Thank you!

After I installed Windows 7 on SSD, you can move the data user to the other disk folders. Here's how to move My Documents . The procedure is the same for other folders:

1. Go to C:\Users\ .
2. Right click on My Documents .
3. Click on Properties .
4. Click on the location .
5. Type the path to the new folder.
6. Click move .

Most applications allow you to specify the beginning of the installation procedure installation folder. You can create a programs or program files folder on the HARD drive and use it. Boulder computer Maven

• Analytics data drive free space is less than 15% > Vcops begin the deletion of data

Hello

I'm new to vCOps, please bear with me.

We have vCOps running in a configuration of test for about half a year now. Recently, he has been given these administrative alerts on the virtual analytical computer:

«Storage disk (/ data) of free space is less than 15%.» vCenter Operations Manager will start the deletion of data to recover disk space. To avoid the automatic deletion of the data, add an additional drive.

I was looking into that, but I can't understand what data are removed or how vCOps chooses to delete data.
For example, VM Analytics metric history goes back only 3 weeks, some metric hosts history goes back to early August. Another metric story hosts return early September.

So I guess that vCOps has been clear data to recover disk space, but...

Is there a logic on what data are removed?

Is there a documentation on that?

We have 110 guests and about 1250 VM. What is the recommended size of the unit of storage/data?

Thanks in advance.

It will be cleaning older data of historical metrology.

But if your installation is that fresh, more likely of allocated disk space is less than the recommended size.
