wdseml missing files in a folder

I use Thunderbird 31.5.0 on Win 7 (64). I sort my messages in several subfolders. In Windows Explorer, I drilled down in my profile and discovered (within the inbox.sbd) that *.mozmsgs file of each folder contains *.wdseml files, except one - the folder that I use, on rare occasions, to store important messages that I want to be able to find easily. (The message in the most recent case is around the age of 9 months.)

The messages in this folder ARE present on the normal screen of Thunderbird - they simply lack the storage location behind the scenes.

Are these files wdseml purged automatically when they get too old? Y at - it hurt to leave things as they are? (For example, Windows will not be able to index the?) And if there is any value to what files, is there a way to recover them?

Like Matt said the WDSEML files are just duplicates created to enable Windows Search find your email. They are contained in the mozmsgs subfolders. I don't think that you can read them directly, and they are not what you read when you use Thunderbird.

You try to read from the Windows Explorer or something

You can disable them by deselecting Windows Search in Tools Options Advanced General but stops at their creation. He won't get rid of them. I have not removed mine so cannot confirm that it makes no difference to Thunderbird but think Matt will have given the right answer.

• Is there a way to filter only the missing files in a folder from catalog or collection?

I don't think that there is nothing more to say on this one.

If you go to the catalog tab and choose all the photographs and then run the menu command, you will see the number of missing photos in the catalogue (image below)

You will still need to re - connect to them. But if you moved the entire folder the file will have a question mark after the name. You right-click on the folder name and choose the location of the update folder. Then navigate to where you place the folder and LR updates links to all images in this folder.

Move icon missing in the files downloaded in the clouds, so how do I move a file in a folder?

If you are on the page of files where all your files and folders are listed, then there are two ways to move:

The thumbnail (can only move a file or folder at a time):

• Click the triangle to display under the thumbnail.
• In the options that appear, select the Move button.

The list view (can move several files and folders):

• The check boxes for the files and folders that you want to move.
• The menu bar at the top left changes has a Move button.

• Several missing files

Hello

I have several missing files in my iTunes Music, about 3000 songs, so about a quarter of my library. Some albums are partially there, although all the songs are in the same folder. I can easily locate the songs individually, but I don't have the ability to recover all the missing files, even though I followed all the advice that I found within the communities and by the Google search.

Everything started when I backed up all my music, then deleted all the music purchased and tried to restore from iCloud, to convert a large number of these in m4a m4p songs so that I could read on my Android phone.

Although he works initially, as soon as I actually clicked on a track in return convert m4a m4p.

So I tried to reinstall all my saved music, but now he seems to think that they are all the m4p, when in my collection of current music UI have reinstalled m4a!

I followed the advice of turingtest2 and run the script to find the missing files, but I get a message during the process:

The function 'ExtFromKind' needs update to generate the correct file type extension:

An example of a missing file path is:

ITunes think the path to the file is:

file://localhost/C: / users/BLYTHE/music/iTunes/iTunes Media / Music / Compilations / integral Chopin / 3 - 10 Ballade No. 3 in a-flat, Opus 47.m4a

The correct path when I get on my computer is:

C:\Users\BLYTHE\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\Ultimate Chopin\3 - 10 ballad No. 3 in A_Flat, 47.m4p op.

The difference seems to be in the file type. Rather than m4p m4a.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As a clarification, what I actually did was to use iTunes game rather than iCloud to try convert m4p to m4a files. It does not seem to have been successful, but it was obviously kind of!

Question:
I use and use for years, Thunderbird as my e-mail program. My email comes through my University, who uses the Exchange e-mail. In the left field of Thunderbird seems so the Exchange folder and subfolders - Inbox, drafts, sent, trash - as well as a number of files I had created. All of a sudden almost all folders that I created missing in Thunderbird, although they remain in Exchange. How to bring back those files. This problem occurred on my two machines. Both machines are running Ubuntu, a 12.04 LTS and LTS other 14.04. I'm using version 31 of Thunderbird.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. WARNING: I am a complete neophyte to these things.

I guess your description, and the lack of support in Thunderbird for owners of the exchange protocols, that you've been using IMAP to allow Thunderbird to 'see' the server-side e-mail folders.

Check subscriptions in Thunderbird (right click on a folder and select new query) to ensure that missing files are always selected and subscribed.

From my experience, when Thunderbird updates, some settings may be lost and then can return to the default values. It can have 'forgotten' these files.

• Any missing files in iTunes library

Let me start by saying this: I used to work for Apple in the store. I know that the software and the beautiful products well (it has been a few years since then), but I was never a genius. I do not do things that will eventually be glitch the operating system.

Here's the problem:

• When I started using iTunes, I unchecked "copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" that I didn't like the way iTunes duplicated my files of music (unnecessarily taking more space), as well as their sorting system.
• Therefore, all my files are simply located in my "Music" folder I recognize that there is a problem when it comes with that.
• I met the problem with iTunes, in which he cut off the ends of a fair few of my songs. The only way to solve this problem is to create a new library. I decided to import my old one because I didn't lose my plays and reading lists, once again (I had this problem before and simply started again, at the same time the simplest solution).
• I didn't have enough space on my Macbook so I used a drive hard portable 1 TB to consolidate files and export of the library as a selection. I managed to import into a new library, and the songs that had been cut played in its entirety. Perfect! First problem solved.
• However, each of my files is now 'missing' (exclamation points) - this is ~ 4 700 music files. As a result guests to locate missing files, iTunes fails every time to find any other ones in a similar situation.

Is there a way to locate the missing files en masse, since I do not have an iTunes Media folder (it is empty)?

Is there a way to locate the missing persons file by ALBUM (which is how I got together in the artist file)? It sucks, but it sucks less than having to locate the 4 700 music files manually one by one.

Any help is very appreciated. I feel that I googled this to the ends of the Earth with no luck.

iTunes will attempt to move the files en masse - but only if it has been set to organize media. If you have disabled that iTunes can't / don't try to find others.

If this problem only somewhere between points 3 and 4 above? "Consolidate" has a very special meaning with iTunes as an action done iTunes and to consolidate you need iTunes using preferences default to the Organization and to copy media. At this point in your description I start losing track of what it was exactly you did and when things started does not. It is not just a matter of practice that need to be turned on before you start iTunes is it?

This is a known bug 'Dumb MS' and very simple to fix. It is simply that the installer wants to put a bit of a music (the standard windows sound) file in a particular place, and the directory does not exist on some copies of OEM Windows XP home.

You just need to create the folder he wants before rerunning the SP3 update. Not at the moment, I can't find a link to the exact thing, but if these directories do not exist, create them. You must be logged on as administrator user to do this.

The file beethoven.wma wants to be in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Music".
OR maybe "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\Sample sounds\" on XP-Home Edition

However, the "All Users" directory down may be missing or not have NO defined permissions.
To fix it, right-click on "All Users" and click the option 'security '.

Click on the security"" tab.

Click on "Add..." »

Click on 'Advanced... '. »

Click on "search".

Directors
"Your username".
Click ok all the way out and try again.

• run missing files rundll32.exe missing. Unable to open many programs

Infection Trojan horse on Sunday, McAfee detected and removed on Monday. run missing files missing rundll32.exe can't open most of the programs without having to 'open with' quick screen. Have tried the solutions to similar problems, without success. Cannot use the restore system or clickfree. AM running xp service pack 3, any suggestions?

He hides on your part.

The dllcache folder is a hidden system folder (normally).

The dllcache folder is where XP keeps copies of important system files. Windows file protection monitors these files when your system is working and if it happen never disappeared, PAM quickly and quietly replace it using the copy in the dllcache folder - this is why you put the rundll32.exe file in both places... One in the dllcache folder is the backup.

If you want to use Windows search, you need to go to the Advanced Options section and select the search system folders and enable folders and files hidden research.

If you use Solution Explorer, while you're looking in the c:\windows\system32 folder, you must:

Click on tools
Click on the folder view tab Options
Enable: Display the hidden files and folders
Disable (uncheck): Hide extensions of known file types
Disable (uncheck): Hide protected operating system files

Then, you'll be able to find and navigate in the dllcache folder.

When you are finished, you can set your options to view back the way they were then you don't have an accident one day in one of these folders.

• Missing file all cut and paste

I was going to spend a few videos of the files from a folder to another using copy / paste. I choose the files, right click and click on cut, select the folder 'target', right click again, but by mistake, click on the bar collapse. All the files in the folder 'target' is missing now and these files which I cut the older file.

I did the search ahead and find the names of these files (C:\User\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows), but I can't use those video files anymore. Can not copy and even play.

How can I get my files as these files is video of the early days of my son.

Hi Dina Sylvia,

If you have not copied anything else, you can return to where you were and right click and choose Paste.

If you do not paste the files anywhere, you should also be able to restart and Windows will "let go" of the files held in the queue.

In addition, check the Recycle Bin and see if they went in there.

• Missing files to user in Start menu - > all programs

I recently found a folder "Programs" in my "All programs" folder in my Start menu. This folder contained essentially all my custom folders as well as the default folders and icons to the start menu. Because I thought it was a duplicate, I decided to remove it and then realized what he deleted all files recently opened and all my custom folders (apps, games, programming etc.).

I still all files windows vista Home premium and icons, but nothing else. I searched the Internet and tried all of the suggestions that I could find (check the registry, restoring files, searching for missing files, ensuring that the Program Files folders are not hidden from program data/Menu start) and nothing seems to have solved the problem. Is there a way I can back my folder structure for programs on the start menu? I checked the system restore, but I have not activated. Unfortunately, I did this in the middle of the tent to free as much space as possible so I deleted shadow copies of my drive, as well as everything in the trash.

Is there any chance of the folder structure is always on the PC but just inaccessible? I'd rather spend on it from this angle instead of having to reinstall all applications in order to hand over the files of shortcut in the Start Menu-> all programs.

Here is the procedure; http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/79571-start-menu-shortcuts.html. Do this for all users. Note that this will only restore the shortcuts. If the programs themselves have been deleted, they will have to be resettled.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

Hi Rod Greene

It is not a file, we can give you. The backup program automatically generates this file.
If you don't see not this file in your Inbox or in another folder on your computer (do a search for the file), I fear his party.

• Missing file names

I had a power surge on my pc (it is protected) the other day and when I turned on it, the names of files in all folders are missing. If you click on or group select files, the names will be displayed, but are not retained if you click out of them. I tried the option shift click for hidden names, but that does not change. I restarted and shut down the system, as well as updates and still no change. I am currently running Windows 7. I'm at work, so I don't have all the other characteristics of the computer on me.

See photo.

Not sure, but its worth a quick look:

Open Explorer, right-click in the 'white space' by folders, click view. At the bottom is "Hide file names" checked? If so, try unchecking it. It may be useful cycling uncheck (view) tick (hide) in all cases. (Seems to work in mode ICON for photos and videos, not sure to see DETAILS).

There is also a possible problem with the "desktop.ini" file which apparently can cause this as well. The article suggests to delete, personally I would try to rename it first in one of the cases took place. See http://www.wintips.org/solved-missing-file-folder-names-in-windows-explorer/ (Ive tried not, never needed, just found by search).
