The "new task" task manager of the elevated privileges

In Windows XP (either, although I've never tried xp 64), if I used "run as" to start the Manager of tasks as an administrator so I could "show processes from all users", I could also use the "new task" option to start an admin command prompt without going through the hassle of putting in the name of user and password again by 'run as' on cmd.com.

I just tried this trick with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, but instead of 'run as', I just clicked on the 'show processes from all users"and leave the UAC ask me rise. I used my credentials of the account administrator to the UAC prompt and then realized that I had to run a command-line command.

However, when I choose "new task", I received a message "access denied."

Right click on the shortcut to the start menu to command prompt and choosing "run as Administrator", then authentication worked correctly however.

This thing with the Task Manager no longer work, or it starts as a guest unelevated admin account, similar to the value by default when logged in as an administrator?

I'm just curious, and I can't believe that I have not used this thing first on Windows 7 in the last four years.

An update has now added a checkbox control that resolves this problem. I choose Start high or not, making the question moot.

  • Administrator user accounts: how to move my administrator account to the elevated privileges?

How to upgrade my account administrator high?

There is no 'high' administrator account (except perhaps the top and you should never use for day-to-day administrative tasks - activate only when there is NO other choice).  You can have special rights granted in a standard user, but an administrator has all.  An administrator in Vista is not all rights and access as we did in XP and that is just the way Vista was designed - it's more control over permissions.

What specifically do you want to do that you can't because you don't are not "high"?

    I hope this helps.

  • tab in the Task Manager startup is empty

I recently updated my Windows 7 to Windows 8 pro and everything works fine except that when I open the tab start Task Manager is all white

the other tabs work well, but it does not list the startup items. Could someone please tell me what to do to fill in the Startup tab.
    Thank you
    Robert

I had this problem too.  But I managed to solve it.

I had deleted empty folders in my Start menu.  Apparently, not to have a startup folder in the Start Menu causes new task manager not show startup items.  Re-create the startup folder empty in my Start Menu makes reappear the other startup items in the list for me.

So be sure that you have a start-up under Programs folder in your personal Startup menu (default "C:\Users\_username_\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup") both from all users (default "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup").

    Hope you also helps.

  • Task Manager give me an access denied error when I try to set the affinity or end a process.

    Hello
I tried to change some of the settings of my PC compared to a game do not set up for dual-core systems.
I tried to change the affinity settings in the Task Manager and I get an error of access denied even if I have one in an administrator account. I am the only user of this system and it is very frustrating to be unable to edit my own settings.  I am running Vista 32 home edition on a system of dual-core AMD.
I also tried to change the affinity with the line of the command prompt and change the shortcut to do so, but this did not succeed. The command prompt will not find the program and when I use the shortcut to set the affinity with the command prompt, it didn't he open the window command prompt and nothing else.  If someone could give me a hand here, I'd appreciate it.  I am familiar with specific vagaries of Vista and I'm getting a little angry.

Do you have UAC turned on?

If you do, then, when you're in the Manager of tasks under the processes tab, select "Show processes from all users" accept the UAC prompt.
This will be the the Task Manager with your administrator privileges. You should now be able to set the affinity.

  • How can I do the Task Manager run pressing Ctrl/alt/del? It says 'disabled by the administrator"how to activate this new?

I am running XP. I've always been able to use pressing the Ctrl/alt/del keys simultaneously to start Manager tasks - useful to close a task does not. Recently, I had some changes due to a virus problem and now when I use Ctrl/alt/del, I get a message saying "disabled by the administrator. I have Administrator status on my normal connection.

How can I activate the Setup again?... Thank you!

    Hello

If you are familiar with editing the registry, navigate to this key and change the value of the 'DisableTaskMgr ' 0
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

    http://computerquestionhelp.com/blogs/CTRL-ALT-Delete-Task-Manager-disabled-by-admin.html

Or you can download this zipfile to your desktop. This is a corrected policy there.
Unzip, then right-click, "VArestorepolicies.inf" and select "install".

As has already been suggested, it is also a Marti goo to scna the system to ensure that it is clean.

  • Shows of 64bits 21.0 Firefox Windows 8 sometimes suspended in the Task Manager

I have a laptop of 64-bit windows with Firefox 21.0 8. In the night I turn my computer off (not restart), I have fastboot or anything and when I login I run firefox and nothing happens. I can open Task Manager and find firefox and it says that it is using 178 k or an infinitely small number of memory, then state instead of saying 'running', he said 'suspended '.
I then finish that firefox and start a new one, and it works fine.
Why it does not the first time that I start it well?

    Screenshots:
http://oi39.tinypic.com/33comrn.jpg this is what happens when I first try to start firefox after turning on my laptop.

http://oi43.tinypic.com/kn9dc.jpg this is what happens when I close Firefox which does not at the screenshot 1.

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • Firefox will not hold, but shows in the Task Manager, after updating graphics drivers from AMD 13.1.

    Hello

After update for drivers AMD 13.1 on my 5770, Firefox will not launch; It doesn't, however, appears in the Task Manager. I want to emphasize that it will boot into Windows safe mode; When I opened it in safe mode, I used this time to deactivate all plugins, modules, extensions and created a new profile. This did not help. I also tried launching Firefox in its safe mode and had no luck with that either.

I encountered this problem once before, when trying to upgrade to an earlier version. I think I was moving from 12.1 to 12.4, but I'm not 100% sure of that. In the end, my solution was then to retrograde back to my previous driver. The steps mentioned in the previous paragraph has not helped at that time, not do a complete reinstall.

experience of 15 years, and that computer repair baffled me.

Thanks to all those who might be able to help.

  • in the Task Manager, processes is called xxfirefox.exe is - this legitimate?

Upgrade to Firefox 9, when I look in the Task Manager, the name is XXFIREFOX.exe. Firefox has been hijacked or is the new name for the v4?

The main Firefox process is always named firefox.exe in Windows 32-bit operating systems.

I would be very suspicious of a process named XXFIREFOX.exe. My advice is to run a full scan with your anti-virus software, and who does not find a problem if doing a "search > for files and folders" for this executable.

  • FF 8 causes flash to not however with load after you open the Task Manager and open the plugin container folder, everything works fine

New upgrade FF and all the flash based video site does not load and makes computer almost hang. After I open the Task Manager and go to the folder where is the plugin container, everything works back. I don't do anything at all after opening the folder.

What kind of error is it? Its very strange. If all goes well, there is a fix for this.

Another method would be to uninstall FF and install FF8.0 and not use the upgrade FF7.0. It worked for me.
