Thank you and best regards,
SandrineYou know the code of real character behind "" or you receive the file like that?
For the record, "" is the wildcard of UTF-8 (0xEFBFBD), so that the original character of the means has already been replaced and that very probably the file was not coded properly in the first place.
With respect to the resolution of the problem, try another method to read the file:

Transfer technology used in the Oracle's SQL LKM.
I used LKM SQL to Oracle as LKM in my interfaces. My query is how data from the source database objects are loaded into the table of C$ created in the target database, even if no DB link is created. Customize the Oracle discoverer login page
Hello
Try to add a password for automatic reset for discoverer page. I would like to know to what extent Oracle allows me to this type of customization. Also any advice on where to start would be great!
Thank you

Published by: 848492 on March 30, 2011 18:50Hi KK
Most things are possible, especially for the Viewer as Viewer using UIX files to control the interface. I don't know exactly the one controlling passwords, but it probably wouldn't be hard to find.Word of warning however: Oracle is not customers of support or sanction change UIX files so all what is done must be saved first in case you have problems.
Take a look * $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer * where $ORACLE_HOME is the place on your application of discoverer server where discoverer more and observer to have their home.
There are a number of files in there related to passwords, namely: CECEnterPassword.uix, CECPasswordChangeWillExpire.uix, CECPasswordExpired.uix, CECPasswordWillExpire.uix, ChangePassword.uix, EnterPassword.uix, Password.uix, PasswordChangeWillExpire.uix and PasswordWillExpire.uix. The word password also exists in struts - config.xml in * $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer\WEB-INF *.
There are a few notes on the Oracle Support on changing some settings in the uix files and these are assumptions they are published by Oracle, but one should always be careful.
I hope this helps
Best wishes

Anonymous performer of Oracle PL/SQL in the Production environment leave a residue?
Hello
In my project, we have a large PL/SQL in Prod-Replica Envt to generate scripts. However, to reproduce Prod for this Prod-Replica lasts long and is causing a delay to respond to change requests.
We have READ ONLY access to Prod DB, but we cannot deploy the PL/SQL Package it. We plan to convert the PLSQL in an anonymous block PLSQL and running it in PROD DB to get real data. Alternatively, we can run it directly or via Java and then read the DBMS output later. as mentioned here-> the use of cursors and results in Oracle PL/SQL, Java/JDBC - Stack Overflow
, However, is not an expert in PL/SQL, I wanted to know, if it leaves residues in PROD outside the additional load a temporary server for read queries. We only select queries in this PL/SQL and so I donot believe we leave triggers or change the DB somehow.
Can you please let me know the possible consequences of it.
-Thanks & Regads
-Scott
There will be an impact on the server, the conversion of code unit of PL/SQL (procedures and functions) must be encapsulated in a single code PL/SQL anonymous block.
This anonymous PL/SQL code block needs to be parsed and compiled - burn a lot of CPU (that oppose the use of unit code already compiled PL/SQL).
This anonymous PL/SQL block is likely to be very large because it contains too many units of PL/SQL source code. This needs memory to the server as the whole code block will be stored in the shared pool (for analysis).
Another impact on performance would be wise to network. It requires more bandwidth to transfer this big block of code (created by the customer) to the Oracle server. This increases latency. And is not an evolutionary approach.
So no, there is no "residue" of the code inside the actual physical database code is never stored in the database. However, this approach and the code will affect negatively network and server resources.
You should consider the problem and determine if this solution you have in mind, justifies this impact.

Dblink Oracle to sql server, multiple database on the same server sql under a dblink
Hi, we managed to set up an Oracle dblink to sql server and retrieve data.
The user of sql server have been using via dblink has access to multiple databases on the same sql server
But the question is how in oracle (if possible) prepend you the SQL access to this?
For example:
Sqlserver_prod has the user sqlserver_user which seems to be set up as default database sqlserver_db1
But we have select access to sqlserver_db2
all work well as sqlserver_user
Select * from table_fromdb1
Select * from dbo.table_fromdb1
Select * from sqlserver_db1.dbo.table_fromdb1
as does
Select * from sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2
more in Oracle
Oracle_db a dblink sqlserver_prod. World connection sqlserver_user
everything works fine
Select * from 'table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod '.
Select * from 'dbo '. "table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod
But how to (if possible) access from oracle
sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2
without having to create a new sqlserver_db2_user referenced in a new dblink
If oracle for oracle would be
Select * from remote_oracle_schema.table@remote_oracle_db
Hello
You cannot select a table in a different SQL * database server from that to which the gateway instance connects.
As stated in the documentation-Oracle® database gateway
Installation and Configuration Guide
11g Release 2 (11.2) for AIX 5 L Based Systems (64-bit), HP - UX
Itanium, Solaris (SPARC 64-Bit), Linux x 86 operating system,
and Linux x 86-64
In the section.
The example SQL Server multiple databases: Configuration of the modem router
A separate instance of the gateway that is required for each SQL Server database. Each
instance needs its own Gateway system ID (SID).
==========
You will need to create a new instance of the gateway for the SQL * Server DB2 as well as a link separate db.

(2) why is the user directory under the folder created with permissions of 700, even when the umask is set to 002? Change the permissions of the directory under/Home oracle will cause security problems?
My apologies for being naïve. It's the first time I installed Oracle under UNIX
Kind regards

Actually, the default procedure is NOT to install oracle to X11R6, but in/opt/oracle. or maybe/usr/local/oracle.
This is what you're going to be recommended in the installation documentation, and in doing so, don't forget to run rootpre.sh and root.sh, I never had security problems and could run Oracle from any account.

performance issue with the Oracle SQL query
Dears
Good evening
I am new to begin to use Oracle SQL, I have a sql query which takes longer to run in production.
Each table in the query contains 1.2 million records and DBA suggested using the "Oracle - tips. I don't have good knowledge on this subject and the difficulties to implement this advice for imrpovise performance. In the product the jobs Informatica are failed and stuck with this problem of query performance.
I ask this forum for an emergency for me to solve this problem by using "advice". kindly help me.

Leave was correct, he had some problems with the packages that I downloaded earlier. I downloaded again and this way it is resolved. See below.
The only difference is in the size of RPM. First of all, I downloaded below:

Looks like he had a problem with the download of packages because the size varies. in any case thanks a lot.

Hello
What is the difference between the incremental update of the IKM oracle and updated incremental IKM oracle (PL - SQL) and incremental update IKM oracle (line by line).
Thank you
Papai
The only difference is that the second using plsql for incremental update. He also to manage clob issues well enough.
If you need to know more you can read the description of each KM section.
Incremental update IKM Oracle (PL-SQL)
-------
Description:
-Knowledge integration module
-Integrates data into an Oracle table from target in incremental update mode using PL/SQL.
-Non-existent rows are inserted. already existing lines are updated.
-Data can be controlled. Data invalid are isolated in the error Table and can be recycled.
-This KM uses PL/SQL to perform the inserts and updates until and blob columns are supported. Please see the restrictions.
-When you use this module with a source table logged, it is possible to synchronize the deletions.
Restrictions:
-When working with the logged data, if the "synchronize destruction of the newspaper" are executed, the lines deleted on the target are engaged
-The data are updated even if not changed (upgrade from any (e)
-The number of lines (number of inserts/changes) is not available because the transactions are performed using PL/SQL
-Comparison of the data is performed using the key to update defined in the interface. It must be set.
-L'option TRUNCATE does not work if the target table is referenced by another table (foreign key)
-Options FLOW_CONTROL, and STATIC_CONTROL call the Module knowledge check to isolate invalid data (if no CKM is defined, an error occurs). These two options should be set to NO in the case where an integration Interface meets a TEMPORARY target data store.
-L' FLOW_TABLE_OPTION option is set by default to NOLOGGING. Set it to a space if the interface is running on an Oracle 7 database
-Deletions are committed regardless of the VALIDATION option
Incremental update of the IKM Oracle

DESCRIPTION:

-Data can be controlled. Data invalid are isolated in the error Table and can be recycled.
-When you use this module with a source table logged, it is possible to synchronize the deletions.
REQUIREMENTS:
-The update key defined in the interface is required.
RESTRICTIONS:

-Deletions are committed regardless of the VALIDATION option
-L' ANALYZE_TARGET option will allow to assess correct statistics only if the VALIDATION is set to Yes. Otherwise, the IKM gather statistics based on old data.
-Default UPDATE option is TRUE, which means by default it is assumed that there is at least one column nonkey specified in a target data store.

Number of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server in the same application ADF
Hello
In my application, I need to use two different databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. There are screens that I need to develop in the ADF where I need to involve fields of the tables in these two different databases. I just want to know - is it possible to do so in application of the ADF?
Or to create a sort of link between these databases in the backend? Then create a view object involving some distributed SQL queries. What can I do with this type of request than anything? I mean, can I use the two insert or update operation using this VO?
Or y at - it another way to do this?
Please help, help here would be really appreciated. I've been stuck with this problem for a while now. I did search our forums for the same problem, but was not able to find a reliable solution.
Thank you
VijayIt's still not clear to me if you need two db tables in a query, or a transaction.
If this is the case, your best option (to my knowledge) is to use a db link. in this way, you only need to access (for example the oracle db) and can access the objects from the other data from the oracle database.
I don't understand
>
(3) a model project with a meeting of the two datasource. I selected a data source and created OT and VO. When I have selected a different data source and select tables to create VO and EO and finished but these EO and VO is displayed in project. >(2) If you need to link data from these two dbs you can not use this approach (see the note at the top of the post)

Hello world
I hope someone here has access to these 2 items.
I need to the WF_COUNTRIES and WF_WORLD_REGIONS tables.
The SQL to create these may be all that's necessary and the easiest way to do it for me.
Explanation:
I try to make the class trip adventure since Oracle Academy in the APEX and finished project, but our schools APEX accounts were deleted, prematurely (says my instructor). I still have my Oracle Academy connection for the PL/SQL course (and I finished the last class), but never connected to this term to see even if the data WERE never there. I asked an APEX Oracle workspace and requested that they include the necessary data for the project, but he seems almost automated, because my application been approved quickly, and data were not included.
I need these 2 tables for the project, I need of graduates of this program (a class that I needed was not available, so I bought a substitution to do an additional project). I already wrote the Oracle Academy team but they have not yet responded, (2 days and I sent an e-mail Thursday evening/Friday morning).
This has already cost me days of work time and put things on hold, so if anyone has these tables, which would be more useful.
I don't know how to contact me here, perhaps, we can understand that, I'll check this forum.
Thank you very much!
ErichterHave you tried google? search for 'create a table WF_COUNTRIES' (including the quotation marks) returns only one, inside you will find create table statement for the named tables. Maybe they fit your needs.

Need help to write to Oracle and SQL Server in the Oracle triggering
We have a third which feeds data for us. Their client application feeds directly to some source tables in our Oracle database 10g. We have triggers on those tables that sort and treat lines as they come.
We have a new operation and try to write some of these incoming data now to a SQL Server database through heterogeneous services - essentially the same exact data in two databases. I have a related database that works very well for the selection, but I've never tried to write Oracle PL/SQL to write in a DB SQL Server 2008. My first attempt was met with the following error: "ORA-02047: impossible to join the current distributed transaction.
I found another thread where they say that the only way to do it is by using a stand-alone transaction, but they do not give an example. Here is the section of relaxation that I use:
Can someone point me to a way to accomplish this simple insertion?select to_char(new_date,'MM-DD-YYYY') into sql_txt from dual; insert into mancamp_location@sqlweb ("UnitID", "ManCampID", "Lat", "Long", "UpdateDT", "VehSpeed", "VehDirection", "Landmark") values (v_truck, f_unit, f_lat, f_long, sql_txt, f_spd, f_dir, f_ldmk);
An example of a standalone trigger is:
Suppose you have a table in Oracle:
CREATE TABLE emp_sal
(
EMPNO NUMBER 4,
SAL NUMBER (7.2));and a similar table in a SQL server:
SQL Server:CREATE TABLE emp_sal
(
EMPNO NUMERIC (4).
SAL NUMERIC (7.2));Then, you can create an insert trigger that replicates the data:
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER dg4odbc_repl AFTER INSERT ON emp_sal
FOR EACH LINE
DECLARE
PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION;
BEGIN
INSERT INTO 'emp_sal"@MSODBCSQLSERVER_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_1123_DB '.
VALUES (: new.empno,: new.sal);
COMMIT;
END;
/-Note the validation, otherwise risk of ORA-6519
When you now insert a record into the Oracle database:
insert into emp_sal values (1234, '1200,89');
the trigger is activated and inserts the record in SQL Server:
Select * from 'emp_sal"@MSODBCSQLSERVER_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_1123_DB;
EMPNO, SAL
----- -------
1234 1200.89It works fine when you post data insert, but as soon as restore you the insert only data Oracle will be cancelled - data will remain as long as the independent transaction dedicated to its SQL Server insert:
insert into emp_sal values (1384, '1200,89');
Rollback;
Select * from emp_sal;
EMPNO, SAL
----- -------
1234 1200.89Select * from 'emp_sal"@MSODBCSQLSERVER_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_1123_DB;
EMPNO, SAL
----- -------
1234 1200.89
1384 1200.89So I strongly recommend to use the DG4MSQL gateway which is able to participate in distributed transactions and allows validation/restore transactions.
DG4ODBC lie on OTN (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html-online check out the "See all" link for your favorite platform), cloud of delivery of software Oracle (https://edelivery.oracle.com/) or "My Oracle Support". In My Oracle Support goto patches and updates, then search for 11.2.0.3 data set Patch 10404530patch: 11.2.0.3.0 PATCH SET for ORACLE database SERVER, choose your preferred platform and see the Readme which CD contains the gateway software.
